Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
OPEN TO Edelweiss Fjäril and Sienna Black . Takes place the day after [ Homecoming ] Amon groggily opened his eyes as sunlight attempted to creep past the curtains. To say that it had been one hell of a night was a slight understatement. And needless to say, once the adrenaline wore off, he pretty much crashed out.
He glanced down at Edel's resting figure next to him. He was merely tired from just performing commands and just trying to make sure he avoided stray bullets, Lassair probably felt the same mental strain, and he could presume that Sayvahn was easily more tired from using his magic to make sure that Amon didn't end up like swiss cheese...but Edel...he could barely imagine what she felt, given how much fighting and healing she had to do that night.
Then there was Sienna...
Amon quietly sighed, slowly closing his eyes, content with the tired cuddling until Edel was ready to go.
Something tells him that this day was going to be a long as last night...

Edelweiss stirred slightly as she felt Amon moving next to her, her brain telling her still very groggy parson that it was about time to wake up. In those first moments she didn't even realize where she was lying (pretty much using Amon as a body pillow due to lack of extra space), a hand reaching out beyond the mattress' edge to fetch her robe and start the day. Of course, instead of a chair with clothes her grip only found air, and that made her finally register where she was and remember the happenings of the previous day. Oh, right. Not her room. And they should probably check on Sienna soon too.
"G'd morning..." She said while almost mumbling, taking an extra second to sit up and stifle an yawn with a hand.

Those hazy moments in the morning, just before your mind crossed the veil from unconscious to conscious were the sweet, moments that she found some solace. She wasn't plagued by nightmares and also wasn't tortured by her waking nightmares. That was the place she had found solace for her time imprisoned. Some days it would last longer, others shorter but it was always a place of rest. So she tried to stay as long as she could this time as well. But as with all things it came to an end. But when she woke up she wasn't in her room.
Bolting upright she peered around frantically unsure of her position or whereabouts. It took a few moments but the events from the night before slowly returned to her. She was free. Mingo's feathers were peeking out from behind a pillow nearby, still sleeping. The comforting smell of oil and machinery was prevalent. This was... her old home? The hows and whens she'd gotten here were lost to her but she was here, unchained and free. Clarence though... Clarence. he image of his lifeless body was seared into her mind and just thinking of him brought the image to the forefront. A foul taste coated her tongue and her stomach rolled in agony at the memory and she tried to jump up to run to the bathroom but didn't make it her knees crumbled beneath her from disuse and exhaustion and she vomited where she knelt. Mingo was awake by then, coming over to offer her some support which she gladly accepted, looping her arms around him as she buried her face and fingers into his soft feathers.
She cried for a while, muffled, heart wrenching, angry sobs. Everything had just happened so fast. She was happy to be free but at what cost? Everyone getting hurt on her behalf still stung but she was grateful. And despite all that she was grieving the loss of her abuser. She felt gross, sick and any manner of word to describe her feelings at the moment. Even with her pet here she felt cold and alone. Clarence had always kept her company and now he was gone. She almost wished she'd not tried to escape. What would've been the harm in being his mistress? By the end he'd learned every thing there was to know about her, how much easier it would've been had she just complied. he wouldn't be dead and she would be with him.
The rational part of her, the part that had helped her escape rebuked against this thought process and she dug her fingernails into her palms. drawing blood. Her torso slid to the floor where she continued her teary actions, her face pressed into the wood beneath her. Mingo stayed close, ever vigilant.
"Hrmg..." Amon grunted as he opened his eyes again, stifling his own yawn. Mornings with Edel were rare, and he longed to enjoy her company and just cuddle.
Unfortunately, this was not a morning for cuddles. (...maybe later...)
"Morning..." he replied, sitting up and giving Edel a sleepy kiss on the cheek. "...You doing okay? How's the leg?" She should be fine...he saw her heal herself last night, but he couldn't help but worry for her as her doting boyfriend.
"...When did you want to check up on Sienna...?" he asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He was dithering between seeing her as soon as possible and just giving her some time to herself. On that same note...
"Did you want to have breakfast before, after, or while seeing her?"

"It's alright." She replied about the question about her leg, with an expression that was both partially amused and slightly bemused. He'd seen her heal herself the night prior, hadn't he? Did he think it would somehow come back, or was he just that sleepy still and couldn't remember?
Then when the topic switched to Sienna and breakfast... "Probably just a quick cup of coffee and head out. Yesterday was exhausting, and after two years away from home I can't really think of anything that would be edible for her in there." Be it as is or to cook. "So we might as well check on how she's faring and take her along to eat."

Somehow Sienna found her way to the bathroom. Most of her stuff was how she'd left it, only dusty. Slowly she cleaned her face off, finding dried blood still caked to her in various places. She'd decide on a bath. Anything to calm herself down. Eventually she would undress and even though her wounds were healed her skin lacked any life or luster. Scars from previous injuries are still present and she'd quietly relive each one as she runs her fingers over them.
Genuinely she'd be disgusted with how she looked. Unnaturally skinny, her ribs visible in.places, her spine protruding under her skin. Clarence may have kept her looking nice but his efforts couldn't fix her body's unwillingness to continue.
Sighing she would crawl into the tub to wash up and cry, alternating between scrubbing her skin raw and grossly sobbing. There was no reason to leave the tub since her designs built in made it a heated tub. But eventually she crawled back out. Wrapped herself up in a thick towel robe and returned to her bed. Mingo followed along and sat down beside her, together they looked a bit ridiculous.
"Got it..." Amon yawned. "I'll get the coffee started if you want to freshen up first," he said as he got up and went to the kitchenette area, taking a moment to grab clockwork mouse to send a quick message to the Twins downstairs before starting to heat up the water.

Edelweiss just shrugged. If by 'freshen up' he meant 'put your clothing's upper layers back on instead of walking around in just a shirt and shorts', then it was accurate, and if not, there wasn't much to do there. She didn't fancy the idea of lavishing time enough with a bath before they had checked on Sienna, so all the time she needed was a couple minutes to fully re-dress herself and wash her face. She guessed she'd probably be done with it before that coffee... and she was.
Oh well. Not really a big deal. "Are the twins 'awake' already?" It really felt like a better idea to be quick, but it wasn't -that- much of a hurry; even though they weren't at Sienna's place at that exact minute still, she still had Mingo with her. And the whole Merchants District had Amon's disney clockwork critters as surveilance - it's not like someone couls just break through Sienna's window and kidnap her again. The redhead just feared if her friend had any sort of decent rest the past evening. She'd never been through exactly the same as the dark-skinned girl, but she still knew how harsh events could take a toll on someone's nights. Hopefully it would have been fine this time.
Anyway, once the coffee was finished, out they go.

After finding herself and her bird suitably dry Sienna moved off to find some clothes. Her closet was still full of the things she'd planned to return to. But the sight of all the red made her anxious. Her hands ghosted over what had been her favorite outfit. She'd loved it so much at one point, feeling empowered and fashionable. But now all it was doing was reminding her of her captivity. Clarence had loved red on her. He was always having her sporting it wether as an entire ensemble or accents. Either way... she could no longer deal with seeing it on clothes let alone wearing it. She grabbed the outfit and yanked it off it's hangar and began ripping it into pieces. It felt good, the sensation of tearing the garment into shreds was so gratifying. As if she were ripping up her pain.
Another item found its way into her hands, torn asunder with reckless abandon. And then a dress. Next some pants. Anything with the smallest fraction of red was left in tatters.
Mingo spectated at first, unsure of his pets actions. But once he could see it was something she needed he joined in. Soon the duo had torn up almost everything she'd had to wear, leaving a few bland garments and one or two nice dresses.
Heaving and crying the woman fumbled through what was left, deciding on a dark brown tunic, dark pants and a black over coat. Nothing about it was flashy, no one would look her way if they seen her wearing them. No one would desire her ever again of she could make it so.
That train of thought led her back to the bathroom where she finally looked at herself. The scars and wounds were gone though some of her older ones remained as well as the brand she knew was there. She stared long and hard at herself. Her eyes were red and puffy, the skin on her face was full and thin.
The person staring back at her was a stranger. She didn't know who this person was. But that didn't matter as she grabbed a hand full of her hair and with a blade she'd brought along began hacking it off. Tufts of dark brown hair littered the floor and the sink but she didn't clean it up. She looked back into the mirror, tugging her bangs down over her face as mush as she could.
The blade was then laid flat against her wrist, contemplating the notion of slitting her wrists. She was just a shell. No longer a person. What did it matter of she died at this point. What was there to live for? It would only hurt a little and it was what she deserved for being so selfish.
A gentle head tap from her flamingo pulled her out of her destructive thoughts and she nodded. Of course, Mingo. She could live for him... and feeling guilty she realized her friends might feel bad if she ended her existence. The life of wanting to follow Clarence was strong but her sense of guilt won out and she placed the blade down and got dressed.
She needed a distraction and found herself toddling to her work room, her hands touching and toying with her numerous schematics and plans. Things she'd planned to create and tweak. Her eyes flicked to a nearby item of interest. A bike she'd been working on. It was old, but she had made plans to clean it up and make it special.
A heavy sigh passed her lips as she ran her hands along the bike from one end to the other. Yes, this was what she needed and she quickly located her tools, grabbed her notes and set to working. Mingo ruffled his feathered happily and took up a place of importance by her side, looking g for all intents and purposes like he was offering advice.
"They should be," Amon replied, moving to go wash his own face once Edel was done. A moment later, there was a small knock on the door, followed by the twins entering the room.
"Hey," greeted Abe.
"Good morning Ms. Edelweiss," curtsied Abby. "I do hope you slept well."
"The Albatross' are currently back in the warehouse and the dolls are on standby downstairs, awaiting maintenance."
"And the cleaning supplies have been packed and are ready was soon as we are."
"Good," Amon replied, nodding at their reports, grabbing a couple of mugs and breaking out the milk and sugar. "We'll meet you downstairs as soon and we're done."
"Understood," the twins said in unison before departing from the room.
"Well..." Amon sighed as he poured Edel and himself the cups of coffee. "Ready when you are," he said as he passed her the milk and sugar after sweetening his own cup.

"Good morning." Edelweiss replied as the two little dolls gave their greetings, followed by a simple "Thanks" as Amon handed over a coffee cup. Hm, seemed like the twins were quite the 'morning people' type, and the redhead briefly wondered if Amon had programmed them to be that way or it was just some coincidental, aleatory result. And as for the coffee, she just drank it as it was. Actually, even if there had been salt in it she'd probably have still drank it as it was. That was enough to keep her awake - and with the plans for checking on Sienna and making sure she was fine still poking in the back of her mind, she'd rather just focus on getting ready for it quickly.
First heading downstairs, then out in the street, a couple blocks down...
"Hi Sie, are you awake?" She asked from behind the closed door after a couple knocks. Of course, there was still the possibility Sienna was still sleeping at that hour... but even if that's the case, with all things considered it was better be sure first and apologise then let her sleep more than not doing it.

Sienna nearly missed the knocking at her door, but managed to come out of her hazy state of mind to hear it just at the last moment. Setting her tools down she made her way to the door. Hesitant to open it she looked into the scope to be sure it was a friend. It was, two friends and also the dolls from before. She unlocked the door and cracked it open before holding it wide to allow them to come in. She didn't quite understand why they seemed to have brought so much stuff though. She glanced back to the far side of her home and the mess she had made everywhere and reached up to brush a hand into the hair she'd chopped off. She didn't say anything and simply nodded her head in greeting.

"Good morning Ms. Sienna," Abby greeted with a curtsy. "It is so good to finally meet you."
"Hey," Abe greeted, returning the nod with one of his own.
"Sorry about the extra stuff. We tried to come here at least every other week to clean and maintain your place like you asked," Amon explained as the Twins gathered and organized the cleaning supplies. "Unfortunately, due to a number of circumstances, we weren't able to get to clean up your place for a while...sorry for the dust..."
"There seems to be plenty more than dust at the moment," Abe commented, nodding at the mess.
"Don't be rude," chided Abby. "Worry not, Ms. Sienna. We will have your place sparkling in no time," she continued as she set to work, starting with the discharge near her bed.
"...Yeah...pay them no heed..." Amon said, rubbing his temples. "They are...unique..."
"Anyway...how are you feeling?"

Sienna looked about the way Edelweiss feared she would be, plus missing a few inches of--- "Nice haircut" was a two-worded sentence that managed to completely derail her train of thought and she found herself slooowly turning to look at Amon with an expression of pure disbelief for about 5 seconds. Really, Amon? Really? Well now she knows what happened to your hair too. But better not to say anything aloud on that matter. Sigh.
She turned her attention back to the dark-skinned girl. "We came to check how you were faring... And yes, to help with cleaning before taking you for breakfast." Her eyes lingered on the puddle of vomit for a brief moment. "Though it's a bit messier than I had hoped... Are you ok?"

Sienna glanced down and away at the comment on her hair. Was it too obvious? She'd just not wanted to draw attention to herself. A hand flew up to cover her neck anxiously, realizing she'd actually just exposed herself more in her attempt to blend in.
She barely looked at them as they all continued on, the dolls stepping inside began cleaning up her meds, making her shrink back even more in embarrassment. She heard something about dust and cleaning and being late. And then Edel mentioned breakfast.
Her eyes darted about nervously at the prospect. Did she want to go out? She was honestly afraid she might not be ready but yet the idea of not being cooped up in here was desirable. She'd spent so much time inside that small, lavish room. Being outside was like a dream, but she also feared being in the open.
“O-okay” Her voice was quiet, somber and lost when it came out. She never looked them in the eye, mostly keeping her gaze at her feet and hands.
