Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Elaine studied his hair as she used her various skills to keep the hat out of his reach. She liked it. As he tried to grab it the girl held it out arms length to the opposite side of where he was. He'd have to go through her to get it. "Tsk. Is that how we ask?" She purred sweetly with a smile. "Besides what would you give me for such an item anyways?" She joked while backing up step by step. The feline put on a smirk as she held the hat and brought it back to herself only to look at it once more. She gazed at it as if looking over prized artwork. Then she waved it ever so closer to him. This girl was a master at at slight of hand, always managing to somehow create an illusion without magic and surprise people, keeping an item well within her grasp and leaving the others wondering.

Keefe smiled as Elaine asked what he would give for it. Stepping closer and closer he made his way next to the girl, though his arms were long enough to reach it from where he was now he decided to grab something else. Reaching down some he wrapped his arms around the girls waist as he scooped her up and held her slightly above his eye level, causing him to look up at her. Smiling all the while he looked into the girls eyes, ignoring the hat now, "I suppose I could trade you a kiss for it." He said with a slightly devilish smirk to his face as he continued to look up at her. It was odd to be lover than her.

Elaine giggled and turned a little red as Keefe picked her up. Well, she was finally taller than him for once! It was really weird. Elaine looked down at him and raised an eyebrow at his offer. Biting her lip to keep her indifferent expression but the smirk was threatening to put and end to that. "Hmmm, that sounds fair." She agreed kissing him sweetly and placing the hat lopsidedly on his head. Breaking the kiss she looked at him a moment, a gentle smile on her lips. "I may have to steal that hat more often." The girl mused judging his reaction. True, they hadn't known each other long but for some reason Elaine couldn't seem to stop thinking about him. She loved talking to Keefe and being around him, even if they did nothing but watch grass grow. He made her happy just grinning the goofy way he did. She let her thoughts wander.

Smiling, Keefe looked at Elaine as she drew in closer. Kissing her back he didn't even notice that the girl had returned his hat until the kiss was broken. Keefe smiled as Elaine commented on how she needed to take it more often, "Well if this is what I have to do to get it back then I may have to let you take it more often as well!" Keefe said with a smile a he set the girl back down, returning her to her original height. He liked her tall, but she looked better this height, then again she looked good no matter what.

"Oooh, I like the sound of that." She teased as he put her down. Aww, there went the fun of being tall for once. She gave him a quirky little grin before turning away and continuing her walk. She was wondering a little about what he was thinking. Ok, scratch that, she was wondering a lot about what he was thinking. If she remembered correctly Lasair had asked her whether or not they were a couple. And she had said.....what could be inferred as a hopeful maybe. Elaine cast a glance over her shoulder through a few tendrils of dark hair at the boy. Were they?

Keefe smiled as Elaine walked off. He loved being around her. As he walked along side her he reached down and grabbed the girls hand, holding it gently as they walked through the field. He wondered where they would end up, not that it really mattered, he was happy no matter where they went as long as he was with her. Looking over to her he noticed her looking back at him through her hair. He smiled as he looked back at her, "What is on your mind?" Keefe asked with a smile as he squeezed her hand some, "You seem like you have something important on you mind."

Elaine felt the warmth of his hand around hers and she smiled to herself. 'What's on my mind?' She thought. Oh wow, that was a tricky question with more than one answer. The short girl just swung their hands. "I was just thinking about something somebody had said." Elaine turned to look at Keefe, her eyes glinting with curiosity. What could be the harm in asking? But how? Too many feelings were inhibiting her ability to speak. Her usually clear mind was tripping over itself trying to come up with something. After sitting there for a moment in silence the feline tilted her head. "Do you think that we are, what most people might call a thing? Like, oh I don't know. Together?" She was rambling and poorly so. Her cheeks flushed violently as she placed her free hand over her eyes. "I'm so bad at this..." She muttered to herself.

Keefe blushed some a the girl asked if they were a 'thing'. He wanted to say yes, but he technically never asked her if that was ok, after all both of the two in the relationship needed to be ok with this. But at the same time he couldn't say no, he had feeling for the girl and hoped she had the same for him. "Well..." Keefe began as he took his free hand and rubbed it against the back of his neck, "I would like to say yes, but I can't really say that for sure unless your ok with it." Keefe asked with red cheeks again, looking off in the distance. For some reason he couldn't look at her right now, he just seemed a bit embarrassed with asking it.

Elaine peeked up at him through her fingers. 'Well I don't think I'd be asking if I wasn't ok with it...' She thought cheekily. "I...am ok with it." She mumbled shyly letting her hand fall from her eyes to stay by her side as she shifted sideways a little to the full extent of their arms reach. Her face was so red that she didn't dare look his way. 'Ok, deep breath.' She left her hand in his because she liked holding hands. Why was this so hard?

"Really?" Keefe said as he smiled some, his cheeks remained red the entire time. "Then, umm... I guess the answer to your question is.... Is yes." Keefe said as he looked off in the distance, rubbing the back of his neck all the while, for some reason he just couldn't bring himself to look at the girl, he wanted to but couldn't. "Why... Why do you ask?" Keefe questioned, trying to change the subject some.

Elaine felt her stomach tie in knots as she waited on his answer. 'Wait, yes?!' She risked a glance at the boy, he was looking the other way. Well, at least they were on mutual terms of awkwardness with the whole affair. "I asked because I wanted to." She said twirling a ringlet of hair around her finger. "And because everyone else kept asking me...." Elaine finally pulled her hand back to brush out her skirt even though there was no dirt visible on it. Lasair and her mother had teased her about him first. Then her father found out, and Archie and Zona. But Archie was the worst. Imagine having to walk into the Curio shop and having the blonde man give you a I-know-who-you-like stare the entire time. And much, much worse when he used it against you. Even though it was annoying it was still nice to know your had someone to be teased about.

Keefe turned to look at Elaine with red cheeks once again and a surprised look on his face, "People have been asking you?!" He questioned, very surprised to hear about this. He didn't think people knew he liked her, ya they seemed to hang around each other a lot, but he never thought people would be asking about it! For some reason that freaked him out a bit, he didn't care for the feeling that everyone know the two of them liked each other.

Elaine returned his amazed look, why did he have to do that? Was it honestly that much of a shock? "Yeeeaaa......." She said nervously, her voice higher than she would have wanted. She turned her back to him to let it take the shield her from his stare. She didn't exactly what to say or do. All she could manage right now was any form of defense from his gaze. "They were all asking me if I thought you liked me and/or if I liked you back." She said raising her hands in surrender as she glanced over at him. It was more of a problem for her than him. Because judging from what he said and that expression, he didn't get teased. 'Oh, come on that's not fair!' The girl thought giving the grass a half-hearted glare. Why was this freaking him out so bad? She's the one who should be concerned.

"Wow..." Keefe said as he looked off in front of him and placed a hand on his forehead, "I had no idea..." He said some what muffled. Turning he saw the girl looking away from him, her voice seemed a bit different too. Did he make her mad with what he said? "I didn't- I mean.... I never knew... I haven't seen to many people recently, and the people I do see are just costumers..." Keefe said as he looked down at the ground, feeling bad for what he had said, "I've been painting a lot lately..." Keefe said some what under his breath.

She turned a bit as she heard the rush of words and the odd apologetic tone in his voice. She looked at him confused with his change in mood. "Your lucky." She said with a small smile pushing aside her confusion. "At least you aren't at the mercy of Archie's endless sarcasm and taunts." She'd bear the teasing as long as she had too, he did say yes after all. That was bound to put a whole new level of importance on top of what was already there. She faced him lacing her fingers together behind her back. "It's not that bad though, I may start to enjoy it because at least now I can say its true." Her cheeks once again flushed red at her own boldness. Maybe they could just blush permanently and she wouldn't have to worry about people being able to tell anymore. And she couldn't look at him anymore, back to square one....
