Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"What do you mean by that?" Keefe asked turning to look at Elaine, seeing her bright green eyes but for she turned away. He loved the color of her eyes, how happy they always were. Turning his head he looked back up to the clouds, thinking of what she had just said and how it slightly confused him, "How am I to do that..." He thought as he watched the clouds float across the sky.

"You know, like if you want to say something and cant get your point across you just compose yourself and say everything all at once. Without hesitation!" She made a fist and raised it into the air triumphantly. "Your brain thinks far better if you just let it do its thing rather than trying to make it come out a certain way." She lowered her hand and shrugged lightly. "Consider it speaking you mind like your sister does." She laughed. She knew it was hard to try and explain yourself and she was giving advice she hadn't been able you use lately like normal. She had rehearsed some of the things she wanted to say to him but that was out of the question for her right now. If she tried she'd lose her voice and just end up looking like an idiot. So she kept quiet.

"Hmm... I suppose you are right." Keefe said as he thought about the way Zona talked. "But I feel like only some people can do that... Some times, if you use the wrong word or just say what you think others are going to get hurt by them. Sometime I think it is better to stumble and fall rather than run and hurt someone... Ya know." Keefe said as he turned to look at Elaine. Besides he would never have enough confidence to speak his mind like Zona did, she could be so harsh sometimes without even knowing it... "I mean, just think. If everyone talked the way she did, we would have a bunch of Zona's walking around. That could be scary." Keefe laughed some wondering what it would be like if the world was taken over by his sister.

"I can understand that." She said scrunching up her nose. Millions of Zona's....... Sitting up on one elbow she slapped his arm softly. "Aw now you ruined my valiant speech with that remark! I can barely handle one!" She joked and partially meant what she said. She really only could handle one. "I was going off on the start of a soliloquy and you killed it." She put a hand to her forehead in a fainting motion then dropped back down peeking at him with a half-opened eye.

"Oh, come now!" Keefe said with a smile as he laughed with the girl some. "You can't tell me that a bunch of Zonas would be a good thing, now can you." Keefe smiled, turning to look up at the. "I will say she is good at times, but I don't think everyone could deal with her 24-7. Hey even I can't!" Keefe smiled as he pointed to himself with his thumb. "I try to go and hang around her as much as I can, even though I don't think she is all for the idea yet, but I still need my own life away from her. Besides she does disappear for several hours and then just shows up at random. Now how would you like it if the world were empty for hours and then suddenly. BAM! ZONAS!!!!" Keefe said as he threw his hands up into the air, making it look like an explosion just happened. He then let his hand fall next to Elaine's, where he then gently grabbed it, holding just her fingers some. A light smile washed over his face as he closed his eyes, feeling the sun on his face.

The girl listened to his explanation perfectly calm until he started on the world of Zona's. Elaine busted out laughing at the explosion. She could only imagine walking down a quiet street and suddenly there were Zona's practically dropping from the sky. Elaine knew Keefe's sister much better than him at the moment and all she could hear is a collective chorus of "What the hell!". It only made her laugh more. She rolled away from him trying to put an end to the giggle fit leaving her hand behind her back where he was holding it. Calming down just enough to talk she looked over her shoulder. "Like imagine a her falling off a roof or something. Popping out of a barrel!" Elaine said grinning. Returning to her original spot she tilted her head so it would touch his shoulder as she watched the sky. Her shoulders would shake every now and then as she tried to contain her amusement.

(Ok just have to say reading that made me laugh so hard, I think I just woke up my neighbors!!! the whole "What the Hell" part really got me!!! Ahhhhh love it.... )
Keefe watched as the girl went into a laughing fit. He smiled as he giggled here and there, "I feel like if she fell into a barrel she would just pop out of it breaking it as she did." Keefe said with a smile as he felt Elaine's head on his shoulder. This was nice, even if they were talking about his sister. He smiled as he closed his eyes some. "So, what is she really like?" Keefe asked as he kept his eyes shut, interested to hear a bit about her. "I've met up with her a few time since the party but she never really likes to talk about herself." A small frown appeared on his face. It made him slightly sad that she didn't like to talk to him.

(I barely even managed to write because I was laughing! I'm glad you liked it! )
Elaine finally managed to stop laughing. She sat there grinning to herself until Keefe asked what Zona was like. She looked up at him to find his smile gone. "Well your sister's a smartaleck for one thing, hardheaded and stubborn too. But she's also fun, always cracking jokes. She's kind, lending a helping hand where she can. And most of all Zona is loyal. Once you get side by side, even if she doesn't know you that well, she won't let you down." Elaine said thinking fondly of her friend. The feline grew quiet thinking about how to explain the next part. She chose her words carefully but truthfully.
"But Keefe you have to remember that she's not exactly going to jump at the idea of having a little brother. Because to her you shouldn't exist." Elaine pushed herself and took her hand back to lace her fingers and stretch. Bringing her arms back down the girl took his hand and squeezed it gently. "Zona's mother supposedly died years before you were born. At least that's what she thinks. Now imagine you never had either one of your adopted parents, for maybe ten years at the least, and suddenly there came along a girl who looks just like your mother and claims to be your sister. If you can see it from that perspective it shouldn't be possible. Zona never had actual blood family. This is all new to her." Elaine explained hoping he would understand. It wasn't that Zona didn't want to be around him, she just wasn't sure what to think or do. "Give her some time." The girl smiled at him softly before reaching her hands over to dig in the basket for the cups she had brought while he considered what she said.

Keefe listened carefully to everything Elaine just said, nodding here and there. The word loyal stuck out to Keefe the most, that was a really good aspect to have. "Really? She sounds like really cool that way. It's nice to have someone you can rely on." Keefe said with a smile as he sat up and looked over to Elaine, listening to the rest of what she had to say. It hurt to hear that, but he could understand it. "I get what you mean but it still kind of hurts... I just wish she would let me in some... Just a little..." Keefe said as he looked over to the field, "She just seems so comfortable with you and Lasair, but with me... What do I have to do? I want to know the Zona you know, the one I know just always seems annoyed." Keefe turned and looked at his feet some, still holding onto Elaine's hand.

Elaine watched him judging his reaction with a caring gaze and her hand still in the basket. She had forgotten all about what she needed. Sighing she closed her eyes. "Your not going to get her to like you any faster by stalking her." The girl said opening her eyes and fixing him with a stern look but gentle tone. "Friendship takes time and you know that. And you can't force her into it or she'll never really trust you. The only reason she's comfortable with me is because we worked together several times and we watch out for each other. That's what friends do, and trust me we don't always get along." Elaine said the last bit pointedly. Annoyed was usually Zona's default mode anyways, he'd have to learn that. "Keefe look at me." The girl gave him a half smile. "Zona will come around sooner or later I promise. Until then your going to have to be patient." She knew it wasn't what he wanted to hear but what else could she do.

Keefe turned and looked at Elaine, listening to every word. Some of them hurt but that was to be expected, "I know.... I just..." Keefe said as he looked away, staring off somewhere. He understood everything she had just said and knew you couldn't just become friends like that with a person like her, it would take time. "I just need patients..." Keefe looked back over to the girl, this time with a smile one his face, "That s coming from that artist who needs to wait for paint to dry." He laughed some, making a sad but true artist joke.

"See, you got this." Elaine grinned fluffing his hair. She really enjoyed doing that, it made it stick up in different angles. Pulling her hand out of his and leaning out of his reach she dove back into the basket. "Finally!" She said leaning back and holding two cups. "Took me long enough." She joked sitting one down beside him if he wanted it and pouring herself half a glass of tea. She sat the pitcher closer to him too. She drank her tea contently and set the cup down. The girl then got up and went walking off into the knee high grass giving Keefe a playful wave.

Keefe smiled as the girl ruffled his hair, even though it messed his hair up he did kind of enjoy that. It made him feel happy. He then did the same as Elaine and poured himself a glass too, taking a sip as he watched the girl walk off into the grass. Smiling he put the glass back down, stood up, and began to walk over to Elaine. Though Keefe couldn't run fast he could catch up to anyone who was walking, his legs help for that. In no time Keefe was standing next to Elaine, walking along side her, smiling all the while.

"What are you smiling like that for?" The girl teased looking him over. Hmm, what could she do? She dawned a sly smirk and slowed her steps to fall behind him. With a small jump she caught the boys hat and darted just beyond his reach. "This is a very handsome hat!" She said turning it over in her hands and looking at it. She stayed as far back as she could not to get caught but close enough to be taunting. She examined it gleefully before backing away with the hat. Elaine twirled it on her finger with a smirk.

Keefe gave a small chuckle as the girl asked him why he was smiling. Just as he was about to answer it she fell behind him, and before he new what was happening, the hat that was always on top of his head was gone and in the hands of Elaine. With the hat gone it reveals how his black hair faded to the golden brown on the tips, thanks to the hat it always looked like he had brown hair but in reality it was black. "Hey!" Keefe exclaimed with a smile as he chased after he some, "Give that back!" He laughed some as he tried to reach for the hat.
