Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

She peered around the man at the uplifting brightness. "That is a relief." She said dryly. Still annoyed with trees that had a slapping ability. She quickened her pace in spite of herself at the prospect of seeing this place Lasair spoke fondly of. "You enjoy the outdoors very much don't you? Is that why everytime I find you, your usually out on the town?" She smiled. Finding it amusing at the small things you notice from people.

“I prefer it to being indoors,” he replied, smiling despite the fact she couldn’t see his face. He was a bit touched that someone noticed something about him. He was usually too busy trying to charm them to let anything about himself show.
Pushing past one last branch, they came out to the field. It went forward as far as the eye could see and to the right and left were the tree line. The grass was only just up to Lasair’s knees but not any taller. Above them, a couple clouds drifted by, no sky ships in sight in any direction. Turning around, he waited to see how Elaine would react to this place.

Elaine stepped out behind him into the tall grass and let it brush her fingers. It smelled wonderfully clean and earthy. Then she looked up to take in the entire view. Her jaw dropped in awe. The sky was clear and had a few clouds accessorizing the small portion they could see. It's blue expanse void of interruptions like ships and haze. The land opened up to a vast grassy pasture as far as the eye can see. The trees vanishing into tiny green lines on either side. Small splotches of flowers dotted the field. "Oh........." The girl started to say something but didn't finish. Too excited and amazed she was speechless. She just looked around with wide eyes.

“Isn’t it wonderful?” he asked, throwing his arms into the air. Elaine liked the place, that made him happy, and imagining her coming here with a certain artist made him even happier. A moment later he turned away from the trees. “Come on, I like to walk out until you can’t see the trees anymore.” He wanted to just stop and stare at the clouds, forget about his problems. Sometimes he needed this more than he needed alcohol.

"It is indeed!" She said gleefully. Elaine was loving the grassy field. A soft breeze rustled through the grasses causing them to ripple like waves. She grinned at the sight. But his next statement made her whirl around. "You mean it's so big that there is a point where you can't see anything but grass and sky?!" She cried incredulously. "What are we waiting for?" She started walking eagerly.

“Waiting for you to catch up,” he said jokingly, walking up next to her, and then walking past her. He looked over his shoulder with a teasing smile, wondering if he’d be able to beat her there.

Elaine caught wind of his speed and raised an eyebrow at him trying to walk faster than him. She then began jogging. "Come on slowpoke!" She taunted before breaking out into a full blown run. Her skirt swishing around her knees and her arms pumping at her sides. The only thing Elaine loved more than nature, friends, and art was running. The satisfying burn in your lungs at the end of a good stretch. The strong pounding of your heart after you've pushed it hard. Her dark hair whipped out behind her as she ran ahead of Lasair.

Lasair had a feeling she was going to start running, and when she did, he quickly picked up his pace to catch up to her. As they continued to run, he felt himself quickly become out of breath. He slowed down then, glancing behind him to see all the trees were out of sight. Smiling, he flopped down into the grass, letting it tickle the back of his neck.

She soon turned as Lasair stopped. "Out of breath so soon?" She panted. Coming to sit next to him. The tree line had fully disappeared. "Wow." She said reaching up to take the clip out of her hair and lay back in the grass. She dropped it beside her and tied her hair up with a band in a ponytail. It was cooler that way rather than half up-half down. Elaine laid there perfectly content. And absently played with a stem hanging over her head.

“So,” Lasair began after catching his breath some. “If I may ask, are you and Keefe a couple yet? Or are you two still just blushing around each other?” He was actually curious, and if the answer was no, maybe he could help her figure out how to work things out.

Elaine laughed at the bit about the blushing. It was becoming a common thing for her and Keefe both. She dropped her hands to her stomach and gazed about the sky. "Personally I think we are a couple without actually admitting so. Unless of course the things that happened at the Festival of Hearts were devilishly mixed signals." She said remembering the fun chat at the restaurant. She briefly wondered what had become of the woman who had been their unintended target of the Great Napkin War. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. It smelled so good out here. "And yes we are still blushing. Trust me, that won't be going away anytime soon." She grinned at her words. It was easier to feel free out here with nothing but a friend by your side.

Chuckling again, Lasair sat up, brushing the grass out of his hair. “That’s great news,” he remarked, still looking at the sky. It was always nice when two people became a couple in a positive way. The negative couples however, it was best not to think about them. He remained quiet then, letting Elaine speak up about anything if she wanted to. Or they could hang out in silence. Both were pleasant.

Elaine stayed whew she was at. Then she began to wonder if Lasair had anyone special. Rolling up to her elbows she looked at him. "What about you? Anyone special?" She poked his shoulder. Interested if he had found someone in the city or outside of it.

Glancing at Elaine, Lasair didn’t reply to her question immediately. Three people came to mind all at once, but he knew better than to say as much. One of them really didn’t like him, and the other two… Well, one of them he had gotten really close to, but that turned things weird between them. As for the last, he hadn’t been able to see her again since that first wonderful time together. He pondered it for a while, finally deciding on a very diplomatic way to answer Elaine. “I’ve met some people, but I don’t think anything is serious.”

Sensing hesitation Elaine waited patiently for him to either say he didn't know or perhaps just not answer at all. "Nothing serious huh?" She looked away. Curious as she was she wasn't going to prod, it was rude. Instead she nudged Lasair's shoulder with her own in a friendly way. Then flopped dramatically back to the ground causing a small 'oof' to escape. A bee buzzed its way lazily and the noise caught her undivided attention. She fixed her green eyes on it and followed its erratic movement.
