Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Elaine was trying to memorize the music as the crowd danced around her. She was lost in sluggish thoughts. The feline felt someone trying to get her attention. Turning she noticed Lasair. She smiled but it soon faded, he looked tired. Nodding as he motioned to the bar she took his hand so they wouldn't get separated. That's when she realized how worn out she was as well.

Slumping into a chair, he smiled over to Elaine, seeing how tired she was as well. “It’s getting late, do you wanna head home?” She could say no, ask for another drink, or have a lot of other responses really. But he expected her to say yes. She was a nice girl, didn’t seem like the type to walk on the wild side and get in trouble.

The girl slid down in a seat next to Lasair and stretched. Running a hand through her hair she looked over at him. "I need to go home." She said but before she could finish the bartender slid her a drink. Elaine looked at it slightly confused. "From the man in the vest." He said pointing. Turning around to look Elaine saw a gentleman raise a glass to her. She smiled before turning back around to Lasair and her smile fading. "I'm definitely ready to go home." She gave Lasair a grin. Shifting her gaze sideways at the drink she pushed it aside. Not trying to be rude but she wasn't interested. Standing up out of her chair she offered him her hand to help him up.

He was about to say ‘You don’t have to drink that’ when she pushed it aside herself. He smiled gently and took her hand, feeling a bit of role reversal. Just to make sure that guy didn’t get any ideas, he slipped his arm around her shoulders as they approached the door. Once outside he took a deep breath and relaxed. “That was fun,” he said simply, to see if she was interested in conversation.

Elaine hardly registered Lasair's arm, she was just ready to leave. As they left she heard him trying to strike up conversation. "Yes, yes it was." Elaine yawned. She took the lead and was headed for Archie's. He wouldn't mind. "Can you make it home alright?" The girl asked having some fleeting memory of the fact that he had drank too, but not fully comprehending he could hold his own far better than her when intoxicated.

“Yes I can.” She seemed suddenly in a hurry to get home. He took one look at the building she led him too and raised an eyebrow at her. “Elaine,” he said gently. “This isn’t your house.” He knew, he had just been there today. This was not the nice bookstore, it was some other place. Trying to be as gentle as he could, he tried to get the girl to turn away from this place.

"Stop it." Elaine said pulling back. She gave him a reassuring smile. "I know it's not my house. It's Archie's." She went up to the door and was going to knock but instead she turned around to ask Lasair a question. "You've never met Archie have you?" Shrugging regardless of his answer she rapped on the door.
A disheveled man answered the door. "What do you want." He growled before he actually got a good look at the girl in front him. "Elaine? Why are you here this late? And who's that?" The man with shaggy hair pointed at Lasair glaring at him. "Relax, that's my friend Lasair. I was wondering if I could stay the night?" She asked tiredly rubbing her eyes. Archie narrowed his eyes at her trying to figure out where the normal Elaine was. "Are you drunk?" He asked a grin slowly spreading across his face. The girl scowled and motioned for Lasair to come forward. Archie would bite much. "And no I'm not drunk... I had one. Which is far better than you do any day." She retorted.

“Um, hello Archie,” Lasair greeted the man while on guard. It seemed they knew each other, but he wasn’t sure if Elaine should stay her by herself. Lasair had taken her out for the night, he felt like it was his responsibility to make sure she was safe when he left her company. Archie didn’t seem safe.
“She’s a little tipsy, but she did only have one drink,” he confirmed. “I wanted her to go home, but she led me here instead,” he added.

Archie looked over Elaine's head at the man approaching, his gaze sharp. "Can hold her liquor eh? Sounds like her. Well come on in, you can't." The older man pointed again at Lasair. He backed up and allowed the girl inside. Elaine slapped his arm with the back of her hand. "Quit being rude." She chastised and motioned for Lasair to come on in. Grumbling Archie went into a back room. Elaine turned to Lasair. "I'm not going home tipsy. Not a good idea. And ignore anything he says, he's a grumpy old thing. But anyways, welcome to the curio shop."
The surrounding space was covered in all kinds of furniture and shelves. It all seemed so cluttered with antique objects. Most of Lodan design and history but if one looked hard enough you could find objects from other islands and cities. A large couch sat out in the very front. Archie reappeared and threw a handful of blankets on it. "There ya go." Elaine nodded her thanks and stood there for a moment looking around.

Watching Archie disappear in the back of the shop, Lasair glanced around, unsure if he should leave her here or not. She seemed to trust him, so he decided to trust her. At least, he wanted to. “Are you sure you’ll be alright here?” he asked with concern. “You can stay at my place if you don’t want to go home.” She’d probably think he was being creepy for offering, but he was being sincere. He still lived with his parents so it wasn’t like he could be noisy at the late hours.

Elaine shuffled her way to the sofa and flipped down on it with as much grace as she could muster. "Yes, I'll be fine! It's just Archie." She looked up at Lasair and tilted her head in confusion. Why would she stay at his place? "I've stayed here before. This is like my second home." Archie had been mulling about when he turned to them, his expression that if horror and disgust. "Great Scots! Don't ya dare think about moving in little lady!" Scowling he made a shooing motion at them both. "Take her with ya please! I have to deal with enough people as it is. I don't want anyone thinking this is the newest inn!" He faked almost begging. Elaine just shot a glare at him. Pulling up a pillow she curled up around it protectively. As if it was her anchor in the house and nobody would dare lift a finger to move her. If she wouldn't have been in the company of Lasair she would have hissed mockingly at the old man. Sitting up a bit she waved at Lasair. "Don't worry about me." She grinned.

“Okay, but if I don’t hear from you tomorrow, I’m getting that man in trouble.” He grinned at her and then to the other man. He’d trust her, and it was late for now. As she curled up on the couch, Lasair bent down and grabbed her hand, kissing it gently. “If you ever want to have a wild night again, just find me.” He turned around to leave then, smiling as he left.

"Mm-hmm." Elaine murmured at his comment. Archie just snorted annoyed and walked off upstairs. Her eyes were closed almost asleep but Lasair kissed her hand she opened them again. "I most definitely will." She smirked before closing her green eyes again. But suddenly he wasn't there anymore. Elaine had lapsed her time, sitting up on her elbows she blinked a few times staring at the door. Then the girl pulled a blanket up tight around her shoulders and soon fell asleep.
