Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

“It’s mostly clear here, but there’s always the sky ship or two that’ll ruin the view.” He looked up as she gestured, spotting one such ship high in the sky. If she thought of this as a clear sky, then she’d be surprised to see one which was truly clear. “I know of a place just outside of town that’s completely clear. I could show you where it is one evening. If you brought Keefe along, it’d be very romantic.” Lasair couldn’t help but grin at the mention of Keefe. He was still rather proud of himself for helping the two of them get together. But it was a shame that he wouldn’t be able to flirt with Elaine as much as he would have liked to.

"Yes...there is." She sighed looking up at the ship. Then her cheeks flushed red at the mention of a romantic spot and Keefe at the same time. "I...uh...I'll look into that." She stammered. "Ummm, where is it?" She asked unsure of what else to say. This wasn't the first time someone had mentioned her and Keefe together. Heck, her parents didn't ever give it a rest. She tried to look not as interested as she felt. Instead she gazed off into the quiet dockside. The sea swirling and pushing against the shores. She saw something up in the sky but couldn't quite catch a glimpse. A falling star?

It was rather adorable how she still blushed at the mention of a certain someone. They were sweet on each other at least. “It’s about a half hour walk out of the city. Not on the side with the forest. I’d give you directions except that it’s kind of hard to find unless you’ve been there before.” The dock wasn’t as busy as it could be on a usual day. Must be slow receiving shipments today, perhaps there was a storm a few miles off the coast or something.

Elaine nodded. She would like to see this spot. If it offered clearer skies then what she had. The thought of spending time with Keefe always sounded like a good idea to her. A small flicker of light out beyond the coast caught her attention. "Did you see that?" She asked immediately glued to the curious flash. "Lets go look!" Elaine grabbed Lasair's hand and took off running. She curved around some stacks or crates and up to the side of a building. Probably the port master's business. No lights appeared in the windows and the girl began searching for an easy way onto the roof. "Are you afraid of heights?" She asked promptly.

“See wha—” before he can finish Elaine grabbed him and ran off. It seemed she was trying to find her way onto a roof or something. “Heights? No,” he answered. Just falling, but he’d leave that part out. No need to tell her about that. He wasn’t sure what she had in mind with the climbing, but it would probably be interesting.

"Good." Elaine turned to him with an excited, and quite possibly mischievous, smile. "Come on fancy boy lets see what kind of skills you have. There's a stack of crates down there at the end of the building." The girl pointed to a darker corner. The crates were outlined by a street light nearby, giving them a sharp silhouette. "Those should be pretty easy to use. Just like giant stairs. Use those and I'll be right behind you." Elaine went behind him and gave him a little push to start him on his way. It'll be much more fun to walk with a little height advantage. Elaine followed him and waited patiently for him to get on up. The boxes were large but there were only two you had to climb. They were stacked like a child's toy blocks. Elaine had climbing experience, though not as much as she liked. But it would be fun for her to see how well he could manage the man-boxes.

“Oh? Just like stairs?” he asked skeptically. Climbing wasn’t his fancy, but he should be able to manage a couple of crates just fine. The first one he had no problem with, just had to get a majority of his body over it and then pull himself up. The second one, however, wasn’t so easy. It wasn’t as stable and he was a bit nervous about it falling over. But he managed to get on top of it and hold himself steady and then looked down at Elaine, curious about what she’d want to do next.

Elaine watching him snickering. "Go ahead and get on the roof. It should be flat up at the top." The roof looked slightly like barn. With a flat stretch on the top and casually sloping sides. She took her turn hoisting her small self onto the first box. Standing up and brushing herself off she gestured for Lasair to continue. She gave him an encouraging smile. Climbing can be rough but it can be worth it. "Don't worry about falling. Forget that. If you trust yourself enough you won't." She put her hands on the next box to give it some support.

Sighing, he looked up at the roof. Did he really have to get up there? For Elaine, he did. “Ain’t that easy,” he commented without facing her. Reaching up, he began to heft himself onto the flat surface of the roof, grunting quietly as he did so. Upward motion was not his thing. Never would be. He wasn’t a cat, after all.

"You can do it!" Elaine called. The box wobbled lightly in her grip so she pushed up against it. Pinning it to the building. She watched him carefully. Making sure he didn't lose his footing. "Your doing pretty good, for a guy." She teased him. Another small spark lit up the sky out above the ocean. It thrilled her. She pulled her gloves off for the second climb. She wanted to make sure she could get up.

He flopped onto the roof, gracefully would describe it in the most sarcastic of tones, and sat there, waiting for Elaine to join him. That girl was smaller than he; she’d probably have no trouble getting onto the building. Which was probably why she had suggested it in the first place. Lasair scooted away from the edge and waiting for Elaine to join him. Hopefully she’d be able to explain what the whole climb was about.

Elaine grappled with the rickety box for a second and pulled herself up. Courtesy of claws. Then scaled the roof easily. After finding her balance atop the roof she walked to Lasair. "Good job Lasair! Most people would have lost their footing." She grinned at him. She let him catch his breath before nimbly walking around him to the end that faced the sea. Turning to him she held out her hand. "Come here." While standing there both of them could easily see a column of gray clouds ascending into the sky. Building up like boulders, thick and broad. Lightening arced through it from top to bottom. Flashing a bluish-purple and reflecting off the sea. It was a magnificent sight. "That is what I was talking about." She said.

Glancing at her hand before actually taking it, Lasair noticed some feline claws. So that was her trick. It suddenly made sense to him, felines did love heights just like the winged. He took her hand and stood up, looking out where she had gestured. Out on the horizon was a storm, and a very colorful one at that. Despite the distance it was still quite the sight, the way the lightning flashed and how the clouds continued to swirl. “I’d hate to be caught in that. So pretty from afar, but so scared from within.” He recalled a time when he had been caught in a storm. Not as big as the one he spied on now, but still something else. Took out most of he village. It was a wonder how so many people survived.

"True that." She replied. Elaine loved storms. The rolling thunder and the brilliant flashes. "It may still hit us. Although not as severe." Then she turned to him. Spreading her arms out. "Welcome to the second best view in the city! To me at least." Dropping her arms she edged closer to the drop where the roof ended and looked down. Spotting a feline itself slinking about in the shadows. "So what do you think land-lubber?" Putting on a pirates accent with a laugh.

Some rain would be nice. Sometimes when the sun was shining a bit too much, things would get so hot around the city. He looked at the storm a bit more, trying to tell if it was inching towards them, but from this distance, that was impossible. “It’s a good vantage point,” he said, turning around to actually look at the city instead of the sea. “But what’s the very best view?” Curiosity got the better of him, despite the sinking feeling he had that the best view involved more climbing.
