Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

“Taking care of horses sounds interesting,” he decided, watching Clair take a sip of her drink as soon as she finished speaking. “How is it?” He held his own glass as indication of what he was asking about. Lasair had hoped he picked a good drink for her, but he could never be sure until she tasted it.

"How long have you been working with horses?" Assuming the answer was she was raised with them. She watched Clair's reaction to the drink and grinned a little. Watching people drink for the first time was always a little amusing.

"It's... nice, thankyou," She couldn't figure out what to say about it, so she took another sip, and braced herself for the tanginess but it was less strong this time since she expected it. "I was raised with horses so I can't remember a time before them. What about you all, what do you do with your free time?"

Tipping his head to her in reply to the thank you, Lasair didn’t need much time to answer her new question. “I like to wander around, meet people, socialize. And sharing a drink with some pretty ladies like you is always enjoyable.” He grinned, unable to help himself from making the comment.

Elaine nodded munching on some more of her sandwich. Pausing she let Lasair speak first then chimed in, "I like to draw, paint, create, anything artistic. I also like to wander around the city and find new things to do." At that last part she motioned to them and the pub. "Like this." Elaine looked up as some hearty laughs issued from the bar.
She was smiling kindly as the two answered, a little color grazed off her cheeks at Lasair but her smile was completely agreeable to what Elaine had to say. Then the girls eyes went toward the noise growing at the bar. Clairee followed her gaze - then sunk in her chair. "Oh no..." her brothers, at least half of them, and a handful of their friends that she didnt know. Crap.

Following her gaze, he noticed that there were some rowdy guys making a fuss at the bar. The way Clair reacted said that she knew them, and that she wished she didn’t. “Are they bad news?” he asked, sitting up a little straighter in his chair. If there was going to be trouble, he wanted to get a head start on it.

Elaine saw Clair cower in her seat out of the corner of her eye. She reached down slowly as to not attract attention and loosened the latches on her daggers. "Friends of yours?" She asked the girl raising an eyebrow. She finished off her food without bothering to savor the last bite. She had new things to focus on.
"Uh... family actually. They're my brothers, or at least, six of them are. The other guys I dont know... but it sounds like someone just lost a bet and doesnt have the dues owed. I can't let them see me in here." She leaned closer to Elaine, "Mind if we trade seats?" She wanted to be in the least likely spot to be spotted.

Elaine listened to Clair while looking at the men. "Sure thing." Elaine got up and walked around so Clair could just shift over. She noticed they grew argumentative. She sat back down and pulled her plate over out of the girls way. "So should we be worried about them?" Elaine asked tucking some hair behind her ear. "By the way how many brothers do you have?"

“Should I go talk to them? See if I can get them to skedaddle to another bar?” Lasair offered, sitting up a bit straighter, hoping it’d help block a view, or at least take notice away from the girls. They looked intimidating, sure, but it’s not like they would be impossible to deal with.
They traded places and she gave a sigh of relief. Lasair also sat up straighter, offering a bit of a blockade. "Um, I'd rather not draw attention to any of us three, or they'll see I'm here with you, you know," it sounded weak, lame, and fearful but it was the first thing the logical side of her brain could come up with. She picked up her glass and took a large gulp for her nerves.

"Not draw attention? With his hair?" Elaine pointed at Lasair teasingly. She rolled her eyes like it was she silliest thing she had ever heard. Elaine was trying to lighten the mood. Clair was nervous and probably with good reason. Hopefully Lasair would catch what she was trying to do.

He chuckled at Elaine’s comment, hoping it would help relieve the tension. “How’s this? If they do notice you, you bolt and get home, pretending like nothing happened. And I’ll try to stall them here. Elaine could even help ya escape.” He smiled lightly as he spoke, trying to be at least a little light-hearted. But it would still be best to have some sort of plan.
It sounded like a fair plan. Though she'd hate for him to have to put himself at risk for her sake. And to ruin the evening for the pair of them wasn't fair. Maybe Clairee should just leave and let the other two have their night. "I've really imposed enough on you both, I'd hate to interrupt your evenings any further." She took another big gulp of her drink, trying to drain it so she could drop some coin on the table and duck out the door. Just as she was about to swallow, one of the abnoxiously loud "friends" of her brothers slammed his fist into one of their faces and she choked on her drink. Clairee dropped the cup on the table and covered her mouth with her hands as her lungs fought to forcibly eject the liquid that went down the wrong tube.
