Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"It's not the one on my hair, Poli." The redhead replied with a faint but slightly amused smile as the little girl seemed to be eyeing her own (Edelweiss') hairtie instead of Amon's. Well, if she wanted Amon's hairtie, it was up to the mechanic in question to let her have it or not, but she should at least let the child know that the purplish pink silk ribbon in her red hair is not the one in question.
"But he actually makes dolls, the dolls that walk and talk I mentioned before."

Amon pinched the bridge of his nose. For the love of everything good and sacred Wern, what did you tell your daughter?!
"Ah...if its dolls you want, we have a wonderful selection~" Seth exclaimed, gesturing at a shelf to his right, a number of dolls hidden between some other tech here and there.
"If they're not to your liking, we have more~" he continued, grabbing a box underneath the counter, putting it on top, and taking from it a fancily dressed doll, the exact same model as seen from the shelves of Amon's store.

“I knowwwww” Polinya whined, pointing to the tall man. “Blue Ribbon! Like mama’s scarf!” Then Aunt Fiddles said tall man makes dolls. “Walk and talk? Like Goya? Except he rolls! Rolls a lot. Sometimes into the fire.” Polinya hummed, making Wern look down as a blush coated his cheeks. Yes, the orb did roll into the fire, but he made guards for that. It’s just, sometimes the guards were left open after cooking, and suddenly, the orb would be on fire. Again.
When Seth spoke, Polinya huddled back into Aunt Fiddles shoulder, except until the box appeared. Craning her head, the headscarfed child look to the box to see the pretty doll. She gasped, a smile coming onto her face, and steadily she reached for it. But, she stopped. Looking at the man holding box then to the doll, then back again, she frowned, pulling her hand away before curling back into Fiddles’ shoulder. Every now and then, she took a glimpse, but overall, she tried to hide herself between Aunt Fiddle’s strands. "No need dolls. Just need Mama. Want Mama over dolls."

"Hm...why not both?" Seth hummed as he searched through some boxes. "Ah, there we are!" he exclaimed as he took out a blue ribbon and tied it into a bow onto the doll.
"How about this? If this doesn't suit your fancy, we have other clothes for her to wear," he said, bringing out a small chest of clothes.
"Come on, you can dress her up, it's alright," he said with a gentle smile, offering the doll to the little girl.

With head bent, Wern felt guilty. Fidgeting with his fingers, he stepped forward from behind Edelweiss, placing his hands over Seth’s as he gently closed the doll box. “Sir, I appreciate it, but we can’t afford this sort of thing. And, it would only make her upset, playing with it.” The larger man stated. Turning to Edelweiss, he gazed at the crouched Polinya and saw her trembling a bit. “Oh, Poli.” Turning, Polinya held out her hands for Wern to take her. Reaching up, he apologized to Edel as they switched, Polinya falling softly into Wern’s arms as she curled into his neck now. “It’s okay, Poli.” Kissing her forehead, Wern looked to Seth. “I appreciate it, but well, she doesn’t want to play with it.” “Mama.” Polinya spoke, and Wern petted her gently. “Do you wanna see your mother?” Polinya nodded her head in response, and Wern sighed, petting her once more. “We'll see her once we’re finished here, okay? We’ll visit mama. Is that okay?” He hummed, and Polinya did not respond, only hid herself more into the crevice of his neck.

"...You do realize that is the whole point of my shop...right?" Seth asked, carefully setting the doll down on the counter. "We specialize in offering the little 'wants' for the tech (or toy) enthusiast, specifically for Anders..."
"More often than not, my stuff is expensive because there are mechanical components that allow them to move," Amon explained. "For a fully fledged mechanical doll such as this, with every feature included, could cost anywhere between 80 and 100 EMP, depending on specs and treatment. If I were to give a non-treated version (for the stubborn and prideful Anders), still with the same specs, the price may come down to around 55 to 75 EMP. However..."
"Here, we can provide the same basic doll, without all the bells and whistles, but still have enough mechanical components for the tech-interested Ander," Seth continued. "This then can drop the rate down to 20, 15, even 10 EMP."
"But for you...I'll cut you a deal: I'm willing to part with this doll here, however your daughter wishes to customize it, free of charge."

When Amon questioned him, Wern naturally flinched, clutching onto Polinya tightly. As the two talked, he eased a little bit, however, Polinya continued to edge her closer to Wern, as if to hide herself more. Though, at the mention of 100 emp, let alone 75, Wern nearly choked. Indeed, he could not afford that, at all. Even the reduced toy, at 10, was too much. He held Polinya lightly, though, as Seth continued, surprised at how, or why, he was offering the doll for free. “T-thank you, b-but we can’t accept. T-that’s your wares, sir. Y-you need to make a l-living too.” Wern stuttered, unsure of what to do. S-should he accept the offer? P-polinya would like the toy, b-but— Wern didn’t know what to do. Wern’s chest quivered slightly, hands shaking. Should he accept? Should he not? Sweat beaded on his brow, and he shifted slightly. Polinya looked up at Wernie. He was scared. Gently, Poli wrapped her arms around his neck. “Wernie, what’s wrong?” She asked, and Wern bent his head. Polinya leaned up and patted his face. “It’s okay Wernie. Look— kiss make better.” Leaning up she kissed his cheek, hugging him still. Polinya looked to Seth, scrunching up her face. “Thank you, mister, but Poli no need doll. Not when Poli has mama and papa.”

"Honestly, I can afford to give something away for free more often than you think, thanks to this guy," Seth chuckled, nodding towards Amon. "That boy always overpays whenever he finds something interesting that I pick up, plus gives me a decent bonus from time to time to help care for my family."
"Besides, think of this as a both a congratulations and an appreciation gift," he continued. "Congrats on your new position, and a heartfelt appreciation for your previous efforts. While Amon was being naughty, I heard of your, what some may call, controversial move to enforce equality for Anders. Despite the obvious pros and cons, I do appreciate the fact that you're trying to bridge the gap between our species."
Amon merely rolled his eyes, hidden from view, a few times, but mostly remained unmoving. If Wern were to try to look at him for answers, all he'd get was a sincere shrug that pretty much says, "Up to you."

As Seth continued to talk, Wern shrunk some. “O-okay. T-thank you.” He spoke. With some time and effort, Polinya was steadily removed from his shoulder and held forward to be plopped on the ground. Though, once on the ground, she ran behind Edelweiss’ leg. “Poli. The nice man wants to give you a doll.” Wern whispered, but Poli shook her head. “No afford.” She muttered, and weakly Wern frowned. “I know, but… he’s being nice, and offering it for free. W-wont’ you take it?” Unconvinced, Polinya poked her head out and stared at tge group of adults. It was strange. “He won’t take it back?” “No.” At least, Wern didn’t think so. It still took a moment for her to step out from behind Aunt Fiddles leg. And, Polinya made sure to have one hand on her at all times. At least, until she could run and hide behind Wern’s leg. From there, she clung to him. “W-what do you say, Poli?” Wern asked, and Polinya looked at him, then at Seth. “Thank you stranger.” "Thank you, for what Poli?" Wern asked gently, holding onto her softly. "Thank you mister for the doll." The child spoke, hiding herself a little under her hijab.
