OPEN TO Wern and Edelweiss Fjäril
(Takes place two days after the events of Tell the world...)
"Ugh...what a pain..." Amon groaned, massaging his head. His actual return was supposed to be fairly quiet; slip in through the secret door at the wee hours of the morning, have the machines clean and do their thing, sort things out with EIRAL, act like nothing happened. Of course, nothing went according to plan, for as soon as one of the machines presented him with the "mandate," the district was awoken to a familiar voice screaming to the heavens:
"WEEERRRRRRRNNNNNN!!!!!!!"
Regardless, the past 48 hours were not exactly the best as he was interrogated by EIRAL personnel (plus a personal lecture to from General Winters herself). The only reason why they even let him out earlier was to give him time to fix whatever mess Mingo's had gotten itself into, with the promise of more questioning later.
"Well...at least I got a warm welcome..." he thought. Saying that the Merchant's district was jovial was an understatement; everyone seemed to be in high spirits, regardless of any mixed feelings for him faking his death (though some of the more elderly merchants he was close to gave him a severe talking to).
It was as if to say "our leader has returned, everything will be alright again!"
Which assumes that something went wrong.
Which brings us back to our first point.
With a heavy sigh, Amon sat behind the counter, drumming his mechanical fingers on the counter while reviewing over some notes. Having ordered not to be disturbed, he sat alone, save for the Twins taking their usual positions (Abby dusting and Abe sitting next to the door), blinds closed, as he awaited for Wern and this so-called "council" to arrive.
