Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Now this certainly explained why Amon was so slim in the waistline despite being a guy. He had befriended a living corset. A Feline living corset, if those teeth were indication of anything. Then, maybe it was a good thing Edelweiss was carrying Polinya, for reasons other than what the redhead and Wern had initially thought of. One wouldn't try to snakehug the lungs out of someone holding a small child, right? Physical limitations for anyone with normal arms lenght aside, it might smother the child in question and therefore was not a good idea. Which by consequence meant the role of Polinya's holder was probably the safest one in that room at the moment. Lady luck finally smiled at her again~
"Good morning." She greeted the still unnamed guy with a small but light smile. Maybe today wouldn't be as bad as she first thought...

Lowering his head, Wern blushed profusely as Amon looked to him. So he told Polinya some stories. They were true. Mostly. Maybe a little embellished, since well, that back before Wern really um, knew Amon. But, well, hopefully Amon would find it, um, as a compliment? Or… not. Probably the later.
Sneaking a peak, Polinya buried her face further into Aunt Fiddles when Amon smiled at her. Oh goodness, Wern thought. Now there both were an embarrassed mess. As they approached the run down shop, Wern couldn’t help but frown a little bit. The place seemed in need of great repair— and probably was not the safest place for children to walk into, but well, it was the um, hovel. So, children should not have really been there in the first place, or well, shouldn’t be there, at the shop, because, well, people did live there and oh dear— The mess inside was a bit, well, confusing and it made Wern squeak slightly at the whole mass of it. He did not feel very comfortable in the room, for fear of it he were to move the wrong way, then a whole mountain of machinery would fall. And there was screaming, and movement, and Wern jumped slightly, clutching his hands closely to his chest as a shorter man (about the same height as Edelwiess) hugged Amon. Which, was, almost scary, given the mechanics early outburst, and even scarier when the man hit Amon on the back of the head. That was it. Wern was gone. Letting out another squeak, he backed up some to take shelter behind Edelweiss, knowing that if he was safe anywhere, it was probably, well, near her since the world was surely going to end, or at least, toys would burst out of nowhere and flicker there eyes. Cogs, he was never going to get that thought out of his head.

"Ah! Hello the-" Seth started, only to stop when he saw the fairly large man attempt to hide behind the...woman?
"...Is he...?"
"Yeah, he's alright, this is normal," Amon replied, hanging his head and pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I see...well, as I was saying..." Seth continued turning his attention back to Edel, only to pause. Crimson hair, rose eyes...ah...
"Well well well..." Seth softly exclaimed, as he attempted to take Edel's hand and kiss it. "It is an honor to finally meet you Miss Edelweiss...now if you'll excuse me..."
*Smack!*
"What was that for?!" exclaimed Amon, rubbing the back of his head again.
"For making a beautiful woman worry! Assuming you kept her as much in the loop as myself and your parents, or lack thereof. And while we are on the subject..."
*Smack!*
"And what was that one for?!"
"Making your parents worry."
"How would they kn- you let them know, didn't you."
"I'm pretty much their second child you know~"
"Yeah, the other sibling I never knew I never wanted..." Amon muttered.
*Smack!*
"Would you cut that out?!"
"Faber est suae quisque fortunae~ Or in this case, lack thereof. So, the other one is...?" Seth continued, flashing an apologetic smile.
"Wern, recent second in command," Amon explained, rubbing his head. "Wern and Edel, this is Seth, who I guess you could call a childhood friend."
"Pleasure to meet you, ex animo~" Seth replied with a small bow.

Hm? Seemed like Seth for some reason knew who she was before them being introduced. Was it because of Amon mentioning her or because of her job with the entertainers, she wondered.
In any case, watching those two interacting was... interesting. Although she felt absolutely no need to hit Amon or cause him any sort of physical pain, she also felt no need to stop Seth from smacking him around either. Also, one simply had to admit that while she didn't really want someone else hitting him on her behalf and the third smack's reasons were rather questionable... "That second one was well-deserved..." She muttered, mostly a thought whispered aloud.
"Nice to meet you. ...Are you a latin speaker?" Well now, that was quite rare. Mainly around the Hovel, be it at its borders or not.

"...Et tu, Brute?" Seth replied, as he dramatically made his way back to the shop counter.
"...Eeeyeah...anyways," Amon said, rolling his eyes. "As fun as introductions are, not 100% the reason why I had you two come here," he continued, turning his attention back to Edel and (the hidden) Wern. "As I said, I tend to turn the less fortunate Anders to here if they want tech or tech-based toys. As you initially see, this place looks like a dump, no offence."
"None taken~"
"But if you look carefully, there is a shelf for clocks, another for typewriters, and some even for gearboxes and toys," Amon explained as he walked further into the store, gesturing at the different shelves and wares.
"And all at a remarkably low price! Caveat emptor!" Seth exclaimed, holding up a clockwork bird, the exact same model as seen in Amon's shop.
"...Not exactly the best saying to use here buddy..."

'Caveat emptor'... or "Beware, customer." in the Lodan language, huh... Not snickering at that was surprisingly hard. "I'll be careful just in case." Seth only knowing latin quotes and not being fluent in the actual idiom was actually a relief to the redhead though, since it meant he'd not try to strike a full conversation in it with her. Any knowledge of latin she presently had came from her father in her childhood days plus anything she ended up learning for work's sake, and even back then Walden at best sounded like a 8 years old speaker - so likelihood she'd fare any better on the task was almost null.
"I sincerely thought you were the one who made that box though..." She mused, almost a whisper after Amon mentioned the gearboxes for sale in the shop.
"I did..." Amon replied, raising an eyebrow. "How do you think he got those products? Besides, your's is special; not gonna make another heart one again..."
He turned to Wern. "...You doing okay there?" he asked him.

Smack smack smack. Wern flinched more so than Polinya, who was hiding behind Ms. Fiddle’s hair— and if not hiding, then looking around the rather dusty shop. Mama would not be pleased. And, neither was Werni, it seemed.
Wern continued to take shelter behind Edelweiss, knowing full well that if any place was going to be a safe haven, it would be with her. And frankly, she was the only one here he knew besides Amon, and his… rather hitting inclined friend. At the mention of his name (and new found ranking) Wern tried to wave his hand slightly in a very silent “Hi.” Briefly hearing Edelweiss, Wern again flinched, though, mainly with mixed feelings. The smacks could have been deserved, but the actual application of hitting, especially with Polinya around did not settle well with the larger man. Still, Amon’s reasoning for why they came here made Wern even more confused, let alone when the man— Seth, spoke latin. Keeping to himself, Wern nodded faintly every now and then as Polinya hummed, her hand, squirming about as she tried to reach over Edelweiss to pat Wern on the head. The larger mechanic appreciated the gesture, but it was lost when Amon asked him how he was. Cowering some, Wern spoke in a hushed voice, almost as to make sure that no one else but them would hear it— which was pointless, since everyone was in earshot. “I… don’t think I’ve fully recovered from earlier,” Wern confessed, rubbing her fingers across his knuckles. “I, um, it’s a lot to take in?”

And that's why the redhead had warned Amon against traumatizing people with his crazed cackling. Now Wern was a stuttering (or well, stuttering more than his usual) trembling potato, and the chubby man was right enough that Edelweiss couldn't blame him for feeling shaken nor did she find it surprising that he was. Oh well.
Letting out a small sigh, she shifted her grip on Polynia slightly to temprarily hold her with just one arm and freed her other hand to pat the shorter man on the back a couple times. As for Amon... all she could do was look at him with a clear expression of "I told you."

Amon could only sigh under Edel's stare. Well, at least Wern was responding again.
"Don't mind Seth; he's a bit...eccentric...plus he normally isn't so slap happy," he said, rubbing the back of his head, giving Seth a look, to which the Feline Ander merely shrugged.
"Anyways...got any questions for me? I'll try to make more sense answering them..." Amon continued, turning his attention back to Wern.

Her own stare aside, she found no sense in patting Wern forever, and retreated her hand to support Polinya's weight along the other again. And as Amon turned his attention to Seth, then Wern again, and the invitation for questioning came up, the redhead woman found her mind drifting to that little acessory that she had realized ended up remaining in her possession after a (very much needed) sweeping in her room a couple weeks prior.
"I've found that lost hairtie of yours, do you want it back?" Did Amon even have enough hair to tie up with that after his 'battle haircut', she wondered... that was a cute thing to imagine though. Just a tiny little rabbit-pompon ponytail.

Amon blinked, turning to Edel at the sudden, random mention of the missing ribbon.
"You actually found it?" Amon asked, a smile of disbelief on his face. "You can keep it if you want...it may clash a little, but it could go nicely with your hair..."
"Oho~ Nevermind how you lost your old hair tie (and how it came to her possession), tell me: when did you become a fashion expert...?"
"I may wear the same thing everyday, but I am perfectly capable of coordinating colors thank you very little," Amon replied to Seth flatly.

Edelweiss raised an eyebrow. "He never lost anything at anyone's place?" As much as Seth's little inference might have been accurate in this specific case (if the redhead is interpreting that that annoying entonation and sideglance correctly), generally speaking finding small lost items at someone else's house when you've visited them a considerable amount of times was not realy a big deal - quite normal even. If she hadn't been holding Polinya still, the redhead woman would have shrugged.
"...Though honestly," She looked back at Amon when the talk of clothing went on, and now this was an amusing thought to have. "I now can't not imagine you having fun dressing up Abby and Abe as the little dolls they actually are."
"All power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." - John Dalberg-Acton
"Nah," Amon replied with a sigh. "While I can take my time and make multiple things for the normal toys, Clockwork Dolls take much longer to design for, so I sort of just made the first thing that came to mind for each of them."
"In any event, do either of you have any questions for me or Seth?"

The comforting pats of Edelweiss made him squeak slightly, but realizing it was friend rather than foe help him distress slightly. At least Edelweiss was there. If he had gone alone— goodness, what would have happened? Though, at Amon’s warning of Seth, Wern didn’t feel any better. Not when the larger man felt safer right then with the slapping latin man to be their witness than just with Amon. Wern flapped his mouth for a bit, trying to find a question but finding none. Instead, he looked to Edelweiss for some form of guidance. After all, what kind of questions did Amon even want? Though, at the mention of the hairtie, and Seth’s insinuation, Wern blushed profusely, staring down at the floorboards as he tried to ignore the little tidbit that the man had insinuated. Oh goodness.
But, Polinya noticed the ribbon too. Liked the ribbon, and if tall grumpy hero man didn’t want it— “C-can I have it?” Polinya whispered into Aunt Fiddle’s ear, leaning her head against her auntie’s shoulder. “I think it’s pretty,” she hummed, though, at the mention of dolls she perked up. “Dolls? Hero plays with dolls? Can I play with them too?” she squeaked, wiggling some in Aunt Fiddles grasp. “Poli loves dolls! Can I play with them? Pleaseeeeee.” The girl whined, waving her arm toward the tall man.
