Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"Well, it was determining whether something was a truth or convincing the other of a lie...or something like that," Amon explained.
"Though I don't know if we're continuing or changing it up..." he continued, giving Edel a glance.

The redhead shrugged. "That's for Val to decide, whether we keep playing or I eat the rest of these doughnuts all by myself." Sweet, sweet doughnuts. Besides, by now they only had an extra half hour until either Jade comes back to place her daily report on her own or Edelweiss would have to go fetch her from the Barracks area and be back before curfew time sets in.

He'd almost forgotten about the game, or at least he'd thought it was done and put it behind him, but now she was bringing it up again. Oh well, best not to leave the kid wondering. "A game of truth or lies. Someone told something about themselves which may have been a truth or lie and the others had to argue over which side was correct." That was the basics of it, but if it was so popular a game the girl probably already knew about it.
There was plenty that he would rather share with only Edel, but it would be a good way to practice other facts/lies.

"How does it work with more people?" He asked, since before the rules were, if one person picked truth the other one had to pick false. So did two people pick the same thing? Truth be told he really didn't feel like playing the game anymore, but he wouldn't be rude either. He was just starting to make friends, after all.

"Usually it just gets divided in teams rather than individual players, one team picks 'true' and the other picks 'false'." Edelweiss told, hoping that they wouldn't realize she had in fact shamelessly fetched a doughnut from those boxes and was currently eating it even though they had kind of settled on restarting to play. "With 4 people it'll get odd numbers, but it's workable."
Pearl grinned and was about to say something else, but another pair of voices approaching interrupted her: "Is she really this way?" "Well she and--" "Six whole peaches throughout the afternoon!" Jade exclaimed as soon as she turned the corner and spotted Edelweiss, her empty sales tray raised above her own head with both her hands as some sign of victory - which made the boy standing behind her facepalm with both of his. "---T-there are more people... H-hi... " She stammered in flustered embarrassment and clutching the tray back against her chest. "I tried to tell you that."
"Nooo..." Pearl whined in helpless frustration. "Why did you arrive early, we were going to play..."
"B-but I'm supposed to state my report early-- Wait play what. "

Amon simply raised an eyebrow. He recognized the boy as the one who delivered the doughnuts, but the peach-girl in green was new.
"Congrats on the business venture," he said with a small smile.

Ugh, more kids. Just when he was beginning to like the one that was currently here, more showed up. Was Edel running a school for children as well? He'd had no idea that there were so many orphan kids. Sure the EIRAL had caught one or two a time and again, but nothing to indicate more of a problem.

Jade pouted a bit while turning to look at Amon. "I wasn't at the Barracks for business... mostly..." "You're going to pretend all those baked pastries weren't for sale-- Who eats 6 peaches on a roll? Weird." "Mr. Andro just loves peaches, alright? Nothing wrong with that. He's like Edel with doughnuts, just less cute." "Your sense of 'cute' is kinda distorted there..." "Does that arm actually move? "
"...Val, you're only seeing 3 of them here, don't make that 'Queens it's an army!' face. Makes me think you'd swoon if ever visitted the guild's dorms." The redhead couldn't help but snicker at the face he was pulling while the kids chatted with Amon and between themselves. Where did he think the children he'd seen playing around when the two of them first talked came from? CAEsAL was probably the very reason why the EIRAL didn't catch many stray kids around the city to start with - well, CAEsAL and also because they probably weren't searching in the Hovel since that area was full to say the least. Or maybe they were disregarding any Ander kids from the count, that would make a large dent in the numbers as well. Jade's presence there meant it was probably time to get busy again though, and Edelweiss sighed before standing up from her overly comfortable spot to receive the folded sheet of paper (written report) she was being given. "This isn't your first time seeing them, is it? You've spotted a few back when we first had a chat."

"Yeah, it does," Amon responded with a small smile, bringing his arm up and moving his fingers a bit. He could only give an amused expression, due to both the enthusiasm of the kids, and Skye's reaction. Guess working at a toy store helped more than he thought in building patience and strategies for dealing with kids...
...Having Abby and Abe around helps too...in a weird sense...
Upon hearing the girl mention Andro's name, in conjunction with Edel (sadly) getting up to retrieve a note from her, something clicked in Amon's mind.
"Huh...guess I now know at least one of her informants at EIRAL..." he thought. Kinda (okay, really) risky for them to be doing that with Alistair in charge, but they seem fairly capable...especially if Edel trusts them.
Plus he now has an idea of who to bail out on the off-chance something goes sour...

When word of the barracks came up he began to listen intently for anything she might let slip. Andro, the traitor, who had sided with Alistair. He'd given the man the oath himself....maybe one of those peaches could be poisoned. But no, that would bring suspicion down on the girl and probably lead back to Edel. He wouldn't hurt anyone else in his personal quest.
"Hmmm?" he looked up when Edel starting talking to him and blushed a little at having been called out. "Oh, no, it's just...I'm so used to order and controlled chaos it's a bit...different to...eh I don't know. Guess I'm feeling like the old man when kids are on his grass. I never liked those guys so I suppose I should get used to the noise and such." he shrugged. Yes he'd seen them in the yard, but they were not entering his so called personal space.

Edelweiss gave an amused smile at Skye's response. "Controled chaos is still a rather accurate way of describing them." She glanced at the 3 kids, who at the moment were distracted by scrutinizing Amon's arm to the best of their abilities without actually touching it. The only one who wasn't fully keeping her distance was Jade, despite all being interested in it, because among them only her was actually human enough and they didn't want to break it. "Children are smarter than you think. One also had a small hand in it when we helped you out your little 'work issue', just so you know."
"So it doesn't get in the way when you do adult things with Edel? " Jade asked next, looking veeery close at Amon's metal limb and watching as he wiggled its fingers some.

It took Amon a couple of seconds to process what the little girl asked, flushing up once he understood the question. Well...that sorta was one reason why he made the more human arm, but there was no way he'd admit that.
"Uh...well..." he stammered, giving a glance at Edel.

Since she had been talking to Skye at the moment, Edelweiss hadn't been focusing on what the kids were asking literally behind her. But that didn't mean she wasn't hearing what was said, and as Amon started stammering she also looked back to see what was going on - and was then greeted by the sight of him glancing at her while being as red as her hair. She let out a short chuckle (similar to the way he laughed seeing her turning the lights on back in her office) and pondered for half a second if she should just let him indulge himself in that pool of pink embarrassment by trying to answer Jade on his own, but no, that'd be too mean. "Just a second." She hushed to the Ex-Commander then turned to give attention to the kids and the flushing mechanic.
"No, it doesn't get in the way of dating." "But it's a techy hand, and you're... uh... how do you hold it?" "It's more sturdy than it looks." And she's still trying to not restart snickering. "And not the only hand he has to hold either."
"And what about kissing?" Pearl whispered the last word as if it was a top-security secret... but it didn't work, Ember still heard it. "Eeeeeewwww " "Great, you said the 'K' word, now he'll be making that weird face for ages again." "Mouths shouldn't be smashed together, that's SO gross, why do people enjoy that." "Emb, you're being a whinny infant. "
