Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"Works for me," Amon said with a shrug. "Let's go."
Along the way, he leaned towards Edel. "So...are we continuing...or...?" he asked quietly.

"The game? Yes we are." She replied back to Amon as a whisper, and got a bit of a mischievous smile on her face while speaking. "Just add Pearl to it, she's already 'playing' in her own way. Will be good for him to try guessing what we say around her too."
Pearl walked in front of the group as the unoficial guide of that impromptu little tour through the building and after crossing a corridor and pointing at a couple doors "That's the ladies restroom on this floor, and that's the one for gents. And there's a canteen that way if you get hungry, but it's really tiny and they rarely have sweets." she turned around another corner she led them to a wide unusually shaped room: bookshelves were placed forming an octogon within another octogon, the external one being actually shelves leaning against walls wherever there wasn't an electrical lamp (all turned off at the moment) filling the space on said walls. Sunlight came in from a large stained glass window on the ceiling, and though there were a few simple armchairs scattered here and there most of the few people present were sitting on a cushion or straight on the carpet, or even lying on the carpet with a cushion under their heads while reading. Some had their shoes off too. It was quiet like a library, but that level of relaxing was definitely not library-like. "And here's the books room."

Certainly not like the library he was used to, but this felt better. People laying about enjoying all that books could offer and not caring about protocol or pomp and circumstances. No one jumping up to salute their leader or 'Sir' shouted out as both a compliment and to let other's know he was there. The sunlight streaming through the windows was pleasant as well and gave the room a warm and lived in feel. He smiled in appreciation and nodded to the girl.
"It's a very nice room, do you spend a lot of time here?" he asked, sure she must spend much of her time running about as children were won't to do.
Amon gave a low whistle. "Wow...definitely visiting this place more often..." he muttered, observing and enjoying the atmosphere.
"At the same time though...not exactly a big fan of the sunroof...especially during the summer," he continued quietly, nodding at the ceiling.

Edelweiss smiled a bit. "Then lucky you that it's not summer now, right? Three seasons to go still... Though indeed it turns a tad hot in here at that time of year." Some people raised a hand in minor waving or did a sort of silent mock salute from their sitting spots as she (and the whole group) passed, but overall Skye was right: no jumping up and no shouting happened. And she preferred it that way too.
While the redhead was looking for a nice space for them to sit down again and restart the game, Pearl answered Skye's question: "I used to. All the kids at the dorm made our homework and passed a little extra time here at the end of the day, then we dined out or had a picnic and went home. But then that 'Martian' Law thing started and we have to get back to the dorms at sunset, so can't do that anymore. It turned harder to have an excuse to be here." Excuse which to her, at the moment, was showing Skye around. Otherwise she'd still be in the practice room and wearing that tutu. "It's annoying. They're trying to make us turn stupid, and walk around as they please deciding who stays or closes like a bunch of fussy kings. I pity the guy they're trying to catch."

"Oh? Why is that?" He asked in reference to her final comment. Pity was a strange word to use. They were, of course, searching for him, but of course it was all a front. If they were actually searching for him they would have found him by now. He wasn't a master of stealth. Alistair just wanted a reason to attack Anders openly. Of course he wasn't going to tell the girl such things. It was good that she was following curfew and not putting herself at risk. He didn't want to think about her in a prison camp, or worse.

"Because anyone with a nose can smell something fishy on that." She stated with a frustrated pout. "He used to be the previous lead or something, then they said he killed people and arrested him. What were the news there? EIRAL was formed at the end of war. Everyone in that freaking guild killed people at some point, good or bad, an 'if you're not on their side you're against them' type of thing. And when they arrest a famous murderer or the likes, the newpapers make a cheery fuss, but that time there was almost nothing. He stayed poofed for almost a year before running away. And they didn't give him a trial either, it was like they wanted the city to forget him. They didn't arrest him because he did something bad, they arrested him because he was in the way."

"For a girl who couldn't understand the need for gloves, you certainly have a unique view of the world," he smiled. It was meant as a compliment. She was a bright one, and she was beginning to grow on him. Everything she'd said was perfectly true, but how could this little girl see it when a majority of the city was still blind to the truth. To them he was the Ripper, and EIRAL had every right to imprison him. He'd stabbed poor Caitlin after all. If they could only see it clearly he wouldn't be in this mess and Alistair would be in prison.
"I think your logic is sound. Hopefully he's already escaped the city." Skye added.
"...What are you feeding these kids...?" he whispered to Edel.

"Food, and a good deal of readings on logistics, history and politics. Aren't they lovely?" Edelweiss responded to Amon with a badly disguised grin, finding a good place between the shelves for them to actually sit down and resting her back against the eyepatched mechanic while listening to Pearl and Skye chatting. It was a nice pasttime, just relaxing and listening to those two, no matter that their game's end might be delayed a tad further by it. "You'll get used to it if you visit more. Most of my little workers are like that."
Pearl had a bit of snickers fit when Skye suggested that himself would hopefully have escaped the city. "Suuure." The girl rolled her eyes. "But where would he go then? He didn't escape alone, and his helpers got in nicely so they should know the place, and not have come from outside the city. And if they came from the city, why take him out? It'd be dangerous and it's easier to hide a tree in a forest (or a runaway with a lot of misfits). He's like us now, he should fit in like a glove... Ok, maybe-maybe an uncomfy glove." She looked at her own hands and wiggled her fingers at her own analogy. Then she looked a little sad. "I hope he's still here. Someone needs to get rid of that blue sissypants that's up there now; those soldiers never liked people," They just liked a portion of the people, more specifically the human portion. But not people in general. "but at least they weren't crazy."
Well her hope was granted, though he didn't yet have a plan to deal with mister blue sissypants. It was a good name for him really. The man was less than capable in a strait up fight, he relied on stealth and tricks to win. He'd fit right at home as an assassin and probably had been just that during the war. After all, the man killed his family. "Well it's a good wish Pearl, a good wish indeed. Maybe he'll surprise us all and swoop in to save the day."

If Skye had commented his thoughts on Alistair fitting right as an assassin, Edelweiss would have felt offended even if not commented back. She, and her workers who shared the assassin trade, didn't go around killing innocent people; those types were actually the ones the assassins got rid of. But he didn't anything of that aloud, and she couldn't read minds; all's good (maybe not in the world, but in this room it was).
"Say, you don't look like an entertainer. Are you going to work here? Is that why Edel brought you?"

"Hm..." Amon hummed, nodding at Edel's statement of her workers.
Though that nod turned to a shake as he listened to Pearl and Skye's conversation, then into a barely concealed snicker fit at the thought of Skye being an entertainer.

Skye just shrugged, "No, I'm not much of an entertainer, but I have skills in other areas that could be useful." He didn't know what the future would bring. He had an admission to give and it all depended on how that admission was received.

Pearl looked at him more intently. Skills in other areas... he didn't look posh enough to be a recepcionist or waiter, and was a tad too old to be an informant. Was he going to be a bouncer? ...Or an assassin... No, not the last type, he didn't figure out her own occupation till now, so she wouldn't be working for him.
"Val was having a bit of a problem with his old work colleagues and he doesn't want to meet them." Edelweiss explained. It wasn't a lie, not even a half-truth; just careful wording. "So we were playing a game to help him practice on how not to call their attention."
