Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"but i was just singing with the piano and people just started to throw coins" Eryn said with a lot of confusion not knowing what busking fully is. Zona had always watched this festival from afar but now it has a whole new meaning to her. She knew this day was coming and in a rather poor state of mind decided to spend the whole night before the festival at a local bar. As she stepped out the sun seemed to burn as it touched her skin and nearly blinded her eyes as well, she darted, or rather, stumbled off to a nearby alleyway to hid from the sun some. Zona then walked over to the side wall of the alleyway with a bottle of beer in her hand, a bottle she must have grabbed it before she left the bar. With the bottle in hand she tried to lean against the wall but ended up sliding down it to the ground, pushing her head back to the wall she tried to pull herself up some but to no avail, instead she gave up on that and began to look around at all the people, nearly all of them were holding hands, walking with each other in their arms, or kissing off the side of the streets. A strong wave of sadness or depression swept over Zona at the thought of all these people, whether it was the festival or the alcohol that was in her system Zona curled her legs up to her chest, wrapped her arms around them, and rested her head on top, zoning the world out and trying to disappear in the alleyway, but doing a rather poor job at it, anyone who walked by couldn't help but look down and notice the drunk girl crouched in the alleyway.

This could technically be Keefe's second festival, but to him it was his first true festival. The first helped him get a place of business in this town, so he was never able to truly enjoy it, but this one would be different. As Keefe walked around he looked at every stand on the streets, straitening his now red hat, that sat upon the top of his head. The more he walked around the more art and crafts and inventions he saw and the more he wanted it all. When he looked up Keefe noticed two familiar faces, one that belong to a taller gentleman, and one that belonged to a curly haired young lady, a mister Lasair and a miss Elaine. Keefe happily skipped over to the two people, "Hello and Happy day to the two of you!" Keefe said with a wide smile, " How are the two of you this fine day? I have to say I didn't know that the two of you knew each other!"

Elaine turned to see who might have tapped her shoulder. Behold it was Lasair with a wide smile on his face. "Pleasure it is to see you as well?" She replied with a grin. In response to his question she turned and pointed at a slim, graceful figure standing on a transparent circle of glass. It was a doe standing with ears alert and her black eyes shining. "Deer would happen to be my favorite Mister Lasair." She said curling a ring let of hair around one of her fingers absent-mindedly. "They are beautiful animals and very gentle. I've always wanted to see one." Suddenly a new voice called out to them. A familiar voice that Elaine was happy to hear although she would never admit it to anyone. Her fellow artist and friend Keefe was making his way over to them with uncontainable energy. "Keefe! You seem to be teeming with excitement." Elaine teased with a quirky smile. "And yes I happened to bump into this gentleman literally. In fact I bumped into about four people." The memory of meeting Lasair, Iacomus, Clancy, and her best friend Zona in front of the theater was one of El's fonder moments. She looked between Keefe and Lasair with curious eyes. "I didn't know you two knew each other either?"

Lasair was surprised to see Keefe again, but it was a pleasure all the same. He tipped his hat to the young man and as Elaine greeted him, Lasair pointed to the glass deer and winked at the shopkeeper. She smiled and grabbed the object and started to wrap it up, and Lasair turned back to the conversation. “I ran into him one winter day when he was lost. Helped him find his way back to town,” he red-haired man said with his trademark grin. “How are you liking the festival, Keefe? Have you found a sweetheart to celebrate it with?” As he waited for an answer, he handed the money for the deer to the shopkeeper behind Elaine's back and took the wrapped package into his hands. He wasn’t sure if he should give it to Elaine himself, or play Cupid and have Keefe give it to her. For now he’d ponder the thought.

Caitlin stopped at the facepainting booth. De ja vous, remembering this exact moment last year. For the sake of nastalgia, she had the same hearts painted on her face as before. Maybe she'd be caught by surprise, maybe time would rewind itself and take her back to that threshhold when she had her chance with Commander Skye and with Will, and she lost them both... what had she done wrong?
Then it hit her.
Oh. Right. Her mother had just died. That's why she'd been so distracted last year. She had almost forgotten. Her eyes got misty and for a girl who should be one of the luckiest in the city, she felt like the most cursed. She paid for her face painting and stared at her reflection in the mirror. She could see all the smiling faces passing behind her, the flirtations and the beaming couples. Her own reflection was stark in contrast. It was like seeing without being there, but she had to admit, there was no escaping her own skin. This was her reality. The powerful Queen of Rogues, Baroness in the upper crust society, was heart sore. Year after endless year.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

Keefe smile grew slightly wider when Elaine mentioned all the energy and excitement he had, knowing it was a joke he bounced a bit and smiled at the girl, "I'm just excited because this is my first REAL festival in this city! Plus not to mention all the ART!!!" Keefe said with extreme excitement as he motioned to all the art stands that stood around them. Calming down for a moment Keefe listened to how Elaine and Lasair met and then how Lasair ran into him. Keefe's cheeks grew a bit red at the thought of both encounters, and how he was lost when the met the both of them. "Yes I seem to recall that is how Elaine and I met as well," Keefe said to Lasair, "Its just such a big city I still can't completely find my way around this place on my own yet." Smiling he rubbed the back of his head, with a bit of embarrassment to his face. "Oh and I have to say I am absolutely LOVING this festival! But as for finding that special person I have to say I have not found her yet. She may be around here," When he said that Keefe's eyes had wandered to over to Elaine. Unsure if the two of them were together or not, or even if Lasair was trying to get her, he knew it was rude to stair so he quickly turned his eyes away and changed the subject for a good measure, "And who knows, with how big this festival is the person I'm looking for could be around here too!" He said rather optimistically.

Elaine gave Keefe a playful look. Always thinking if art, which was something they had in common. "Tsk, am I going to have to get you a navigator?" She wagged her finger at him with mock disapproval. But her smile faded a bit when Lasair asked about a possible sweetheart. It made her feel a small twinge of sadness. Not exactly knowing where the feeling came from or the precise reason why she just stood there trying not to look like she had lost her spark. But Alonzo's reply made her glance up just barely making eye contact with him before he looked away. The corners of Elaine's mouth tilted slightly upwards but she wasn't quite smiling. There was a moment of awkward silence. El twisted on of the bracelets on her arm and felt heat come to her cheeks for no reason. Keefe mentioned the person he was out to find and the curly haired girl looked up. Gazing at Keefe's green eyes a bit longer than necessary. Giving a small cough she put a smile on her face, "Who knows? Maybe you will, lots of people come to the festival. You wouldn't......want help looking would you? You do have a habit of getting turned around." Elaine shifted her weight to one side and pushed her hair back out of her eyes. She hoped he wouldn't mind her company. A part of her wouldn't mind being the sweetheart he was talking about. But that was unlikely.

Lasair could only stand and watch as he witnessed the beginnings of a possible relationship between the two of them. It made him grin happily, as he always loved playing Cupid. So, he decided that this relationship needed the best possible chance. He stepped forward and grabbed Keefe’s arm, pulling him aside for a moment. He handed the small box holding the present for Elaine to him. “Give this to her before you go home,” he whispered to Keefe and then stepped back. Turning back to Elaine, he smiled playfully. “I think you helping him find his way around the festival is a marvelous idea.” He grabbed Elaine’s shoulder and moved her so that she stood next to Keefe. “I would offer to join you, but sadly I have plans to attend to. Do enjoy your evening though.” He took a short bow to them and then turned around, leaving before either could say a word.
As Lasair walked away from the soon-to-be-sweethearts, or at least he hoped that’s what they would be, he couldn't help but start to whistle a lovely tune. He walked through the festival with a bounce in his step when a spot of blue caught his eye. Focusing on it, he realized whom it belonged to and wondered why she was sitting in an alley on a day like today. He approached the drunken Zona slowly and leaned against the wall when he came up to her. “I do hope you’re not in any sort of trouble,” he said gently, looking down at her.

Stephen narrowed his eyes at Ikuze, attempting to look insulted "What do you mean 'bored?' The Language of Flowers is quite- oh whatever, I am not even going to defend that drivel" he sighed, giving up all together on the subject. Ikuze's next comment brought some color to his cheeks. What exactly did she mean by 'pick the answer from his lips?' The way she said that statement, he was not entirely sure that he would be against that idea of such an action. Though, what she meant by that comment might just mean something else, so he best answer before she drowns him in the fountain or trys to get familiar in with him public. "Right.. um, where was I..."
Just then, Eryn interrupted him- again. The long he waited to answer Ikuze's question, the more awkward he felt. This was not good for his delicate nerves. Eryn appeared to be offering him her hard earned money. At that moment, his trusty temper flared for a second "Do I look like I need mon-" he stopped himself, and pinched the bridge of his nose in attempt to calm down as he inhaled sharply. No need to take out his frustration on the girl, she was only trying to be nice to him. Letting out a deep sigh, she smiled weakly at the girl "I apologize for my outburst. Thank you Eryn, I appreciate your offer but I can not accept your money. Why not go and find yourself something nice to spend that money on. If you wish not to lug the bag around though, I can hold it for safe keeping. Now, I ask that you give Miss Storm and I a moment of privacy. As in, alone. Without you. Please" he practically begged the girl.

A muffled voice came into Zona's ear, she then slowly raised her head and saw a familiar face. Lasair stood over her with a face that seemed to be concerned, he must had asked her if she was ok or something. "Wha-" Zona looked up completely now and pushed herself up against the wall more, "I'm... I'm fine... Just... Don't worry..." The bottle in her hand began to raise up to her lips where she then took a rather large sip of it, guzzling nearly half the bottle. "Just... Gooo..." Raising her free hand she tried to push Lasair away, he didn't need to see her like this and her subconscious knew that, the attempt sadly failed though when her hand went limp and fell to the ground, at the same time her head fell back and hit the wall a bit too hard.

Rubbing the back of his head again, Keefe gave a playful smile at Elaine at the mention of a navigator, "That may help." Keefe was then caught of guard when Elaine asked if she could join him, besides Lasair helping him when he first ran into him no one else ever offered to help. "Of- Of course you can help... I would love the help... and company..." The last part of that was said under his breath, unsure if that would have been a good thing to say out loud. Suddenly Lasair pulled Keefe off to the side and handed him a small box, he was then instructed to give it to Elaine at the end of the night when he brought her home, it must have been some gift that she was eyeing that he got for her, "Are you sure about th-" Keefe was cut off when Lasair turned back around and then ended up saying goodbye to the two of them, leaving them both alone. All Keefe could do for a moment was stand and stare in the direction the man went. "Well... Looks like it is just the two of us." He turned back to Elaine and put a smile on, actually kind of happy it was just the two of them.

Keefe's agreement about her coming caused her to look up with a smile. But Lasair had other plans. Elaine was momentarily stunned by Lasair's change in priority. Watching him as he pulled Keefe off to the side she was beginning to wonder what he was playing at. But before she could question him he pulled her off to stand at Keefe's side. Then in a whirl he was disappearing off into the crowd. Elaine was slightly dazed. "What was that.." Alonzo turned to her saying something. Regaining her wits she returned his smile seven-fold, "Indeed it is. So where do you want to start? It's a big festival and we have plenty of time to wander." The girl turned to look up and down the street thinking of which way to go first. She was secretly enjoying the thought of the two of them wandering around the festival. "The restaurants are up that way," She said pointing north. "And the majority of the festival's heart is down there next to the fountains. So it's either the crowd or the less chatty areas."

Keefe looked in the directions Elaine pointed and pondered which way to go for a moment then decided the best chance he had at finding this person would be at the heart of the festival. Stretching his arm out to the girl he offered it in the direction of the fountains, "I think the best spot to start looking would be at the heart of the festival, since that is where everyone should be." Keefe smiled, hoping that the search would quick the way it normally was so that he could just enjoy the festival with Elaine. "I have to say I am very happy you asked to join me in my search, we don't have to look long i just want to see if anyone may have a clue who I'm looking for." Keefe paused for a moment thinking if he had ever show his picture to Elaine, he didn't recall that he ever had. "Umm... Do you know who we are looking for?" Bad wording! "What I mean is have I ever shown you the picture I have of the person we are on the hunt for?" He used his other hand and began to rummage in his pocket for the picture.
The festival was boring. Max told herself that over and over again, and yet she just couldn’t quite bring herself to leave. She wandered around with an angry look on her face until she came back to where she started. How long had she been wandering? And yet Stephen was still at the fountain where she had first found him. Not having anything else to do, she leaned against the side of a building and watched him, more specifically the bag of money being handed to him. Now if that girl dropped it…Max would be over there in the blink of an eye.
