Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"He wa--" His words cut short as the sight of Lasair left his field of view and when he turned his head the other went under water. Unsure of what happened, he held his breath and ducked down as well though at night the water was pitch black and hard to make out anything. He waited there trying to search for the other until his breath ran short and he swam up to collect a breath of air. Hopefully by the time he resurfaced so had the other. When Lasair and Viktor were both up once more, the red headed mechanic would ask, "Are you alright...? Thought somethin' snagged ya."

Lasair stayed under the water as long as he could managed before turning around to zip towards the surface, coughing a little as he came up and then looking to Viktor who reappeared a few moments later. Wiping some of the sea water from his eyes, the ander gave him a light smile. “I’m okay. Just had a whim that I decided to follow. Been doing a lot of that lately.” His head tilted back then as he began to float, stomach in the air. He still wasn't sure about what he had been hoping would come from this trip, or what he wanted to happen. It was just one big case of 'go with the flow' but right now, he didn't know where the current was taking him.

All of Viktor's previous thoughts had been forgotten as Lasair came back into view and then the other ginger's words fell on his ears. Did he perhaps offend Lasair...? Viktor wouldn't be surprised as he tended to offend lots of individuals though often times he never understood. No, no, the man was still with him. Like Lasair, Viktor floated along and just fell quiet for awhile. "You think we should head back to town soon, Lasair, or would you prefer to stay out here longer?" The stars overhead twinkled and were a compelling reason to stay, but water always had such a strange effect on Viktor making it feel as though it crushed his very lungs if he stayed in too long.

Glancing back towards Viktor, Lasair merely shrugged. He had not been offended, only slightly confused by the way events could change in but a moment’s notice. At one point this whole trip had such a romantic view. At another, they could be just simple friends. It was all up in the air at this point; and they were down in the water instead. “It’s up to you, really,” he said slowly and allowed his eyes to drift closed. The ander had no idea how he should react at this point. It was a relationship to be frowned upon in so many ways and yet, here they were together, all those reasons against it not mattering at all.

"I think I would like to get out. Ain't sure why but being in water always makes me tired fast--and makes me got to go tinkle, ya know?" He hadn't had to go before but the feeling came suddenly as though he were a little kid once more asking to go potty. Without another thought, the mechanic was moving for the shore and once there he was running towards the treeline to relieve himself.

Chuckling lightly, Lasair also began to angle himself back towards the shore, however he took on a much lazier pace than Viktor’s sudden hurried one. The ander reached the shore a good chunk of time after the mechanic did and hefted himself out of the water slowly. The water still coated his body and dripped downward, leaving a wet trail in the soft sand. Taking a few strides forward, Lasair turned on his heel and allowed himself to fall backwards, rear end landing in the sand before falling fully backwards. The sand coated his back in an instant while his eyes were directed towards the stars. “The same stars as over the city. Only you can see more of them out here…” he mused quietly.

Only a few moments passed before Viktor was through and a loud, relieved sigh escaped him when that time came as he ambled back to where Lasair was now resting in the sand. Careful not to kick sand on the other, Viktor stepped up beside him then sat down to lay back and stare at the stars as well. "Ain't it neat? I think it is cause here in Masaa they don't have as much smog since they have less technology than we do. That, and less lights. My dad used to say that light pollution kept us from seeing the light hat those stars give off. Hey, see that paler stripe across the sky with all those stars? Ain't it pretty. You couldn't hardly see that in the city either." He lifted his hand to gesture at the Milky Way.

“Yeah…” he breathed quietly, not really feeling the need to say much more to the mechanic. His eyes drifted closed for the moment, simply enjoying everything this place had to offer. This was a good trip, something he needed to make. That, he was certain of. It was just a bonus that he was able to come here with good company.
With his eyes closed, he began to doze off, the gentle lapping of the water acting as his blanket while the sand became a heated bed. It was nice and cozy, and he’d stay there till morning if able.

Viktor grinned a little at the sky then turned his head to look at Lasair, mouth open ready to speak only to notice how exhausted the other was. The mechanic's mouth closed almost instantly and his grin faded into a small smile as he watched the other begin to doze off. He himself had no objections or want of leaving their spot as he had already grown quite comfortable though he would not sleep immediately. Instead, he remained awake to watch the stars a bit longer, wondering about any and all of the secrets they held before sleep finally caught up with him. If nothing were to disturb him, he would certainly commit to sleeping there as well.
