Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Gladys was reluctant to release the Baroness into the powder room, but it seemed she had no choice. Pausing a moment before turning around, she nodded to Jovena and walked forward, abandoning the powder room and the noble-woman within it. She escaped this time, it would seem. “I’ll go back on patrol,” Gladys offered, rolling her neck some. “It’s not like the officer would take me seriously if I reported anyway,” she added with a bit of bitterness. Shrugging, she turned to head back towards the outside of the premises, cutting through the hallways as she did so.
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Do not bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” ―William Faulkner
across the lawn the cherry of a match struck. The smoker lit his pipe with it and gave a deep drawl. After the tobacco lit, he shook out the tiny flame of the match and the shadows closed in around him again. But that had been enough. Enough to catch Maeve's attention. She walked cautiously from the door of the library to the window, squinting out to get a look at what that tiny spark had been. A firefly perhaps? What she didn't know was he was looking back.
It wasn't until he approached the window, like a phantom rising out of his own cloud of smoke. Her eyes grew round at first, but then she narrowed them on him and cocked an eyebrow. "Ey ugly. Queenie so desperate for recruits she takin' the blind and the lame now'a'days?" As she spoke to him through the open window (open because it was summer and the palace needed to air out) she waved her hands back to try and signal the others to run or hide. the library was on the first floor, an elevated first floor as the foundation of the castle was built rather high, but the widow wasn't quite ten feet off the ground. She leaned slightly out the window like Juliet to her Romeo. But this man wasn't her lover (she didn't have one.) He was just some one eyed, one armed soldier.
"You the best they got?" Man, maybe CAEsAL should have snuck in sooner. "This job be easier than I thought," she smirked in his face.
As Roy Was on his way to the library , he noticed a woman through who was called him out as he looked looked up " ....... You better start running... You just made things worse for yourself by shouting out 'hay am here come get me' . Now the others will be on there way , so if you please wait there ....ill be up shortly since am the easy way out for you and who else you have up there now so make sure you all have death wishes for when I kill you " he replied as Roy continued and started to make his way. On the outside he was calm and cool , but on the inside he was exstaic with the excitement of battle. as the tail of smoke followed him.
The blue haired girl accepted the map from the red headed lady, shoving it into her shirt after giving it a quick look through, mainly to get her bearings as well as a general idea of where to go before she needed to check again later on to confirm directions. She gave Edelweiss a confused look. "Never met where?" she asked oh so innocently before she smirked, gave a mock salute and began to make her way out of the library as Maeve gave her taunt to the guard outside... who apparently planned to kill everyone in the library. Definitely making a quick exit then, so down the halls and corridors she went, making sure to check each corner before she took it.
So on top of the usual arrest that the guards would give if she were to be caught by them, there's also now a guard on the hunt for blood if he caught anyone where they shouldn't be... just bloody perfect. Her mind jumped to the worst case scenario of him bumping into Rava in the Queen's bedroom as she tried to find the crown under the mattress, and she opened up with all that artillery she was packing, whilst he used whatever he had... Urgh, this whole job's a complete mess. she thought to herself as she quickly checked the map to confirm where she was. I took a right there, and a left there... so I should be about here if the library was there, so the vault should be just down this corridor, through the second door on the right, and down the flight of stairs. she thought to herself as she traced her finger on the map, grumbling to herself with a sigh, putting the map back under her shirt.
Stairs, guards running around the place, definitely not going to be able to grab much of the loot down there... maybe some rings and necklaces, stash some jewels in my cap maybe but that's about it. I'm starting to hate vault jobs. the blue haired thief cursed in her head before continuing on her way, keeping an eye out for any guards in her way. It was awfully quiet for a place that should be on high alert actually... far too damned quiet for her liking.

Caitlin took a few moments to just wait in the powder room till she felt sure the soldiers had left. After the coast cleared, she snuck back -out- of the palace, rolling her eyes at the irony as she did. All this trouble to get in, and as soon as she had she was sneaking back out again. She made her way plainly across the lawns toward the south gate, walking tall and proud in case anyone saw her. She'd rather look like she belonged there than look like she didn't. Hiding in plain sight, as it were, since -something- was happening here that made the security officials think she belonged. Had she only known that earlier in the night, she would have walked up to the front door and rang the buzzer.
*sigh* Hindsight was twenty twenty.
Approaching the south gate without incident, she let herself out and rendezvous with her team around the corner. "Well lovelies, that's one way to get our blood pumping," she commented playfully once she approached the group. Getting herself in would be easy, but taking an entourage with her would be a lot harder. She wondered how Ikuze and Rava were fairing? "I believe its time to thin the ranks, for those of you who got what you came for" a right good and thrilling fight, "you're welcome to take your jollies back to the pub. I only wish for 2 persons to stay with me for the rest. As insurance should our sticky-fingers indoors need assistance finding their exit." Not ecstatic over the prospect of staking out as the calvary for the theives, all but Thrak and Skye saluted and departed, taking their jeers and jest about the Dreaded Pirate scare tactic all the way seaside with them.
"Well then," She smiled at the remaining to. "The rest, rest on us."
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

“Keep him talking or go after him,” Lasair hissed to Maeve, trying to be quiet but still wanting to be extra sure she heard him. He continued to stay low, but crept towards the window some, hoping it would make communicating with her a bit easier. If she couldn’t stop the guy for at least a little while, then the team would have to get out of there quickly and try and find Edelweiss to warn her as well. Having the guards flood the palace really wouldn’t be so nice right now. And he was just starting to find the good books too.

Maeve watched the soldier turn and storm off around the corner of the dark building, looking for a door to enter and assault their little tour group from within. Lasair hissed at her to do something, to keep him talking was no longer an option since the man had already buggered off on the war path, but she could go after him. It only irked her a little to be given orders by the redhead who looked like a Q-tip on fire.
"Yessir," she mock saluted, before digging her claws into the window sill and hopping up on it. Up and over, she thought, with an internal Yippie! She dove from the window, tucked and rolled upon landing. She bounced back to her feet, raked her razor sharp nails through her hair to push it out of her face, then followed the trail of smoke the eyepatched man left behind.

Footstep where coming from behind , almost like they where running his way as Roy stopped as he let out a sigh " your stubborn , stupid or wanting to die if your not running away ..... In light of this am gonna offer you one more chance to run away , let the others capture you and do their things to you " he said as he took the pipe from his mouth and exhaled smoke from his noise as his sword scabbard was undone from the mechanism on his back , falling and landing , making a loud metallic bell ringing sound as it stood up . He turned and placed one hand on the handle of his sword ".... When I start , I don't stop ... I can't stop .... Till all targets are dead ...... Or if I die ..... Kill or be killed .... The bezerker way ........ So are you gonna run away little piggy ... Warn your friends that the big bad wolf is coming ? ..... Or accept death " .
Roy smiled as he started to pull his sword from its scabbard , the blade sang still true even with all the damage it carried and how dull it had become , but Roy didn't care , as long as he saw blood tonight . He was going to enjoy his time. As he waited to see what this person would do .

Maeve slowed down her footsteps as she got closer to the one eyed, injured man. He had a mouthful to say and she let him speak it all, buying more time for her pack back inside to make their swift exit.
"Big words for a broken bloke, don'tcha think?" She sized him up. When he pulled out the singing steel from its scabbard, she gave him a genuine smile. "Ah, there it is, the real weapon. For a second there I thought you were puffin your chest out and I was a bit disappointed. but now that I see what'cher packin' I got one thing to say to ya."
She prepared her feet in a springy fighting stance, keeping her weight in her toes and her body ready to make quick agile movements.
"Dun' lose that toy you got there, 'cos without it, your arse is mine." Not many brawlers, even soldiers (drunk or sober) had been about to out step her in fisticuffs. She was well skilled in unarmed combat. Given the slightest chance to un-arm the injured and half blind man, she would, and then she would win.

"Um... pst..." Clairee pstted at Sayvahn and Lasair, and anyone else in the room that was within pst-ing distance. "We, should, go" She whispered loudly... which was an oxymoron and maybe she should have just spoken it. "The muscle just jumped out the window, I think its time maybe we walked out a door or something?" Then a thought occurred to her... "We're not... jumping, out the window, too, are.. .we...?" Oh boy.... Flying off palace grounds was definitely not an option, unless she wanted shot out of the sky. but falling out a window did not sound like a great plan either.
"Can't we just take the stairs?"

hands - down.
"Shall we begin, eh?"
" that's what you think " Roy said before dashing and Swing his sword at her in the manner he was used to which would cleve through a body normally for him. he hoped that one swing will be enough to to take care of this person and show that you don't bring fists agent him, that he was not to messed with and his title of the bezerker as the excitement came across his face " let see you in 2, little piggy!" He shouted as swing.

Jovena gave a tight lipped frown. Why shouldn't they take her seriously? But she didn't ask the question, instead she gave a curt nod and parted ways. It was up to her then to make the report. Bugger.
She started down the hall to the head of securities office within the palace, which was conveniently just past the library. Where a bunch of folks were slipping out the door. "HEY! You there!" She yelled at SayvahnLasair Landevier LupenClairee Donya and wouldn't you know, just passed that gabble was the blue-haired wench Ikuze Storm checking her map at the foot of a flight of stairs! "HEY! HALT No one move!!" Jovena shouted. She gave the quickest of glances back over her shoulder, hoping Gladys Hayden heard her shouts and would turn back around and provide an assist.
Seems that Maeve got lucky leaving through the window after all (or did she?) But of course there was still Roy out on the premises to deal with.
The blue haired thief, who's normal hair was currently underneath her a black wig and flat-cap hat, blinked as someone yelled at her to stop. She glanced towards the source, cursing under her breath that it had taken her that long to try and read the damnable map in her hands. Whoever had drawn up the designs to the palace needed to get shot out of a cannon as far as the thief was concerned... but that was a task for after she had gotten out and not captured by EIRAL's guards. She had to figure out something and quick.
After a quick think she decided on the most sensible and logical course of action, especially since there was still the commotion going on at the gates. "By the Queen! Did you see those men in black with the knives going down that corridor? I think they're from Sveden! Please! Stop them, before they kill the Queen!" cried Ikuze, lacing her words with her magic. She hoped the thoughts of a possible assassination attempt on the Queen's life would distract the guards long enough for her to slip down the stairs quickly. Even if the guards would be put on an even higher alert, she was not going to leave this damned palace without some form of loot... all this effort and nothing to show for it? Not bloody likely! Ikuze would make quick her escape down the stairs, weaving her way through the corridors of the palace in her attempt to reach the royal vault. She wondered if Edelweiss and her lot would pick up on the idea and reinforce it with their own magic, assuming any of them knew that spell.
