Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

She hated Patrol duty. Of all the jobs she had to do in the military, standing watch was her least favorite.
Something always went wrong. Always.
Like rain. Or your replacement slept in and was late. or Oh-I-dont-know someone breaks into the prison and suddenly you're attacked by witches and skelentons and then the whole thing explodes.
At least it wasn't raining tonight.
She yawned, checked her gun, then turned the corner to march across her post.
Patrolling the palace was a much welcomed upgrade to Gladys’ usual duties. She was getting tired of tromping around the Hovel; some of the locals were even beginning to recognize her and learn things about her. Of course that turned into taunting as various insults were passed around, so. She didn’t want to patrol around the Hovel for a little while. At least until they found someone new to pick on (like maybe a certain man who never seemed to leave her alone…)
However, on the down side of this nice new place to patrol, she happened to be on patrol with another guard she didn’t get along well with. Jovena was a good soldier, but she had a soft spot for the man, Andronikos. And given the past Gladys had with him… It almost made her shudder. Thankfully she didn’t need to actually talk with Jovena. Just occasionally make eye contact with her if they met on the border of their patrol routes. It was supposed to be a simple night. Gladys liked the simple nights that didn’t involve her risking her life for some kind of lost cause.

The blue haired thief narrowed her eyes as she watched the people who were supposed to be doing their job, doing anything but. Hell, a few of them were running away from the western gate rather than towards it. "What the hell is going on?" she hissed before she spotted the shadowy figure running on the rooftops. She casually tossed a loose pebble towards them to get their attention if nothing else, and waited for them to arrive before she whispered. "What are your lot playin' at? The West gate should be noisier than Rosie's on half-price night right now." Ikuze asked of them, casting her eyes back towards the gates from her vantage point on the rooftops.
"I think we'll have to make a detour," Rava started to feel uneasy as she started to follow Caitlin around to the detour , the night hid a lot of things but no one know what was fully Caitlin plan for this hist , holding onto her weapons and making sure her mask was on and ready for anything that would come their way "hay , Caitlin ? did you plan any of this? or are we going off scripted with this?" Rava asked as she swiped the way carefully with her eye , making sure they would not be ambushed or jumped on or swooped in on. " We maybe should tried to get in from like a window or hid in creates the day before with food shipments or something more sneaky"
Unsettled. On edge. Had snuck in with trope. Had snuck in because saw Sayva. Was uncertain. Sayva alive? Sayva notice? Sayva had, and arms held out, asked for hug. Mala gave it. Whimpered a little. “Missed Sayva.” “I know. I’m sorry.” He didn’t know where she went, he said. Didn’t know where to look. Mala didn’t know either. But had looked, just never found. But, at last, found. But now, Mala distant, had to be. Removed hands, stopped hug, and bent away. Went back to crouch, even when in dress. Sayva had liked dress. But now, Sayva, with people. Both red. Both mean. Sayva didn’t like man in red. Mala didn’t like either if Sayva no like. Stayed at distance. Waited. Found bug on ground. Chased bug with eyes. Swatted at it when it got close.

“We can head out as soon as we’re ready,” he spoke up to answer the short girl’s question. He was a bit surprised Edel hadn’t said anything first, but that was alright. It seemed that this was the group of them. A little on the small side, but it should be effective all the same. The CAEsAL kids were always, always toughed than they looked, while Lasair was sure that Edelweiss could hold her own in any situation under the sun. He wasn't nearly so prepared in a fighting sense, but he did have skills and a unique knack for using them. It was all he could offer, besides the knowledge in his mind.
Through the doorway, the sounds of instruments playing began to be heard, meaning there was quite a bit of noise now to provide them cover. With a simple nod, Lasair began walking forward, hoping the outline of directions given to him about the castle layout weren’t too hard to both remember and follow. “We have quite a bit of time now that the show's began. But we don't want to waste it. Ideally we'll be back before intermission, but idea worlds rarely exist.” He couldn't think of much else to say, save for stating the obvious. But sometimes that could be helpful, if for the only reason of refreshing the mind. He looked to Edelweiss now, wondering if she had anything to add in.

The dark figure that Ikuze was speaking to up on the roof turned toward her even as she cast her eyes away. Rather than answer her questions it seized her hands behind her back with one hand and tried to clamp the other over her mouth. "What is a Rosies on half-price?" It hissed in her ear with a strange accent.

"This most certainly isn't what I planned," Caitlin huffed as they marched toward the spot where a ruckus was supposed to have already occurred. Where was their distraction? How were they supposed to sneak in if they had to make their way over to the one spot that should be pulling all the guards? Her mood was going sour quickly. Some morale buster this was turning out to be.
-------- Thrakazog 'crept' up behind her and tugged lightly at any loose clothing she wore, and barring loose clothing, he tapped her gently on the shoulder - as gently as his meaty finger could manage. And he whispered again in his deep rumble, "Umm... Cap'n... me nub mean to be impatie... impash... me nub mean to nub wait quiet-like, but wut's dis signal we is waitin for?"
"I was hoping for something a bit more... explosive. We were supposed to see shooting stars coming up from the ground. Fire works, Pyrotechnics, something.... hell anything at this poin---" She stopped in her tracks and swung her arm out to halt the others beside her. "Hold the phone," (not that she ever would, or she'd break the rotary piece of machinery.) Phones weren't all that common except for with the high society estates. It was all the rage with human nobles ever since Gram Bell invented it in 1876. non the less....
"Is that.... music?" She asked, turning her head toward the grand prize. Music floated from the palace across the lawns to where they waited outside the gates. The lights inside were all dimmed. She had expected a quiet, near-to abandoned state of affairs given the political rife of late. This was.... unexpected. But maybe, just maybe they could use it to their advantage. "I believe a new opportunity has presented itself..."

The sneaky sneaks muck alike the one on the rooftop with Ikuze had just finished tying up Caitlin's plan 'A' at the West Gate. Caitlin's entourage were on their own now.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

"I requested a map before coming, on the assumption that some musicians needed to carry in ans sort their instruments beforehand and where were the washrooms and such." Edelweiss unfolded the paper from her pocket and passed it around the small group. "Obviously there should be areas missing, mainly the far away rooms from the concert hall, but it's a start. Try to remember at least one different route to go back here if something goes south with the first."
And if someone spots them, there was still the excuse that they got lost. But it was about time they start this little operation of theirs, lest the BoR might take their exit before their own even start moving. "Ready here."
Music sauntered into the room, and with lowred eyes, the feline listened to the “plan” of operations. It mattered little to him how things were strictly to be done. His role was obvious. Defend, follow Lasair, and take control of the situation if something went awry. If need be, the blonde would defend the fox, or at least, act like a shield, as his “role” so described him to be. Yet, that was not called for. At least not for the guild. But it was a promise to the older man’s own self, more so then anyone else. “Are we splitting up into teams, or are we really just going to walk around as a group?” The dancer muttered, arms folded. “We’ll cover more ground, and it would be more believable that one person got lost, and the rest of us split into teams trying to find them.”

“Two groups might be wise,” she said, feeling like she was cutting into the conversation. But it was a point no one had thought to bring up before, yet it was an obvious choice when spoke out loud. “We pick different routes and head out to explore them. Communication between the two is unlikely, but the job could get done faster.” With her words spoken, she quieted up and took a half step towards Jasper. If they were moving into groups, she insisted on being in the same group as him. It would be too unsettling otherwise.

Bug got closer. Group, continued to talk. Mentioned two groups. Wanted to be in group with Sayva. Caught bug. Contemplated on eating bug. Stared at bug. “Mala, don’t you dare.” Sayva hissed. Mala furrowed brow. Brought bug closer to mouth. Sayva glared. Mala placed bug down. Sayva waved hand. Opened and close pal. Mala glared. Opened palm. Let bug go. “Good girl.” Mala stared as bug ran away. Will catch later. Will eat, later. Can promise bug that.
Eryn listened quietly , she didn't know which group she would be going with, she know she was very sneaky but she could also help with the performers as she did have her soft voice as well as her acrobatic training she had been doing, she breathed trying to take everything she could from what she could hear from Fox and Mama Edelweiss. hoping she would be able to help and maybe could be seen in a better light than she was with the informants, ever since she left them they had been quiet and had their eyes on her, something she now used to.

"Two groups is more feasible than just one, yes." Now in what regards the distribution... Jasper would want to stick by her side if possible, but it also seemed the lad was wanting to keep an eye on Max. So be it. Sayvahn is Lasair's worker before being her own as well, and then there's Mala and Eryn. "J, Max, you two come with me. Sayvahn, I take it you go with Las, but... uh... I'd like it if you keep an eye on Mala too (if possible)." Mala didn't particularly like, trust or obey the redhead at all, besides being prone to wander off, and that being so keeping her in her own group would be unwise. Mala should be a liability only to someone who couldn't make her listen to instructions, and Sayvahn had just proved he could do so - even if the instruction is a simple 'don't eat that bug'. "Eryn, which group you'd rather follow?"
Jasper looked between the two redheads as the talk of splitting up in teams happened. It'd be good to have someone from CAEsAL in the MI team, at least from his point of view, but he really didn't feel keen of following Lasair again. Then there was the overgrown toddler trying to eat insects over there. Subconsciousy he found himself placing a hand on Max's shoulder, in an almost shielding stance, and seemed to relax visibly when Edel divided the groups. Maybe Eryn could be the interguild envoy in this little search...

When the bastard grabbed her hands, she knew immediately that the heist had gone south already... or rather, they were now up against a clock that really did not need to be ticking. She growled and tried to bite down on his hand that was covering her mouth, whilst her other hand decided to introduce this little sneak why you didn't bring anyone's hands too close to you in her city. She tapped into her magic and even though it was a basic spell, it was more than sufficient for what she needed to do right now. What was that you ask? Why, set this bastard on fire that's what it was. She snapped her fingers to ignite the magic and set the man's clothes on fire, trying to break free even as she did so, mainly so that she wouldn't be caught up in the flames as well.
As soon as she was loose, she'd let out a noise akin to a shrieking barn owl, the signal that dung had gone seriously wrong even as she began to rush her way down towards where Caitlin and the others had gathered up. She would scramble across the rooftops and shimmy down the street ladders as swiftly as she could, wishing that she had learned how to speed herself up with magic. As soon as she got anywhere near the Queen of Rogues, she'd grab her air a little before reporting. "Big problem... bloody Svedes are 'ere, and it looks like they're the ones what screwed with our diversion... and it looks like they were comin' out of the palace." she said, looking towards where she'd been earlier and wincing. "I maaay 'ave roasted one of 'em a little."

Lasair nodded along, agreeing with the decisions made so far. The idea of working with Sayvahn was not unwelcome, nor was it foreign to him, yet he couldn’t deny that there had been some hope to have the groups arranged another way. But being logical and realistic won out, as it always did. So it seemed he was with a fellow guild member, an overgrown child he had met once prior, and possibly another CAEsAL kid he had also met before. But he didn’t mind being able to avoid the unsettling gaze of the short girlish boy. At least that one was staying away.
“Sounds good to me. My group will head to the library and try to recover some literature that the Queen has confiscated over the years. We’ll also try to tackle the official records and see if there’s any data that could use some amending.” Of course one form of amending was to simply pour ink all over the documents. He twirled a bottle of ink that was hidden in his coat, saved for just that purpose. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t eager to put it to use.
