"Thanks, Poli." Edelweiss chuckled again in response, after giving a short moment for the class to answer the little girl's greetings with a collective "Hi Poli!" as well.
"Explaining a bit to those of you who are new, we start with Philosophy lessons today. Starting next week I'd like for each of you to bring a thought to share at the end of the class - it can be something you thought on your own or was told, or saw around; anything you've found deep, witty, funny or just interesting. We all talk of the thought you bring, and the class will elect the best one of the day. The winner will get a candy." She stated while patting the china box over the teacher's desk, which, aparently, was where the candies stayed.
Jade added as a whispered explanation to Wern that the younger kids at the class found the sweets to be the best incentive to not forget that little weekly homework, while the oldest ones thought it was nice but focused more on the list of 'best sentences' that stayed on the board at the front of the classroom, competing with each other to see who would manage to place higher by the end of the semester.
"Alma's has been the first for 2 years already and she's not even in this class anymore." The braided girl pointed to the "Cells multiply by dividing." sentence, right above another written as "There are two types of people in the world: those who open water bottles, and those who ask others to open water bottles."
"But for starting, we open the class by discussing a short story. Hmm... which one do you all want today?"
"Uh! Tell the starfishes one! STARFISHES~"
