(Open to everyone)
Elaine traveled down through the Theater District humming to herself softly. She looked around at the performers and acrobats lining the streets working for a few extra coin. The Theater loomin farther up the street made her feel at ease, more than she had in weeks. Suddenly she felt a wet nose pushing against her hand. It was Cas, she smiled and scratched him behind his ears. He leaned up to her touch enjoying the attention. Cas had been her companion recently, often following her around and sleeping in her bed against her fathers wishes. He complained about the dog almost as much as Cas complained about him as they both fought for Elaine's affection. But Elaine knew they both secretly liked each other, for she had caught Cas at Charles' feet a few days ago keeping a watchful eye open. Cas was getting more trusting of her each day and through her, other people. It was a nice reward considering all the time she had put in trying to get close enough to him to give him food. As the fingers scratching his ears stopped he looked up and frowned as much as a dog could. Barking softly he leaned up against her while she was walking. Elaine squeaked as her knee gave way to the weight of the large dog. "Cas! Quit, I'll pet you some more later you bossy thing." Elaine teased. He just snorted.
The girl and the mutt finally stopped and went to sit on the curb. The dark haired girl sliding her bag over her head and sitting it down on the ground and the dog dropping onto his haunches beside her. Elaine crouched and reached into the bag to pull out a small bone. She tossed it to Cas who caught it and laid down crunching the treat happily. Elaine herself produced a flute from the bag and set out a small bowl. No harm in earning a few extra coins to buy things for her pal. Standing she went through the scales as a warm up and then began playing the song she had chosen. The notes whistled out high and clear and the girl swayed gently to the tune. Heads turned at the noise and soon enough she had a small crowd standing around her smiling. Cas was her watch dog so nobody got too close and he had his ears perked as he listened as well.
