"Here is CAEsAL's main dorms. It's where most workers who actually live at the Theater District stay." She responded with a grin and a pat on his shoulder before pointing at the stairs and heading to the upper floors.
"Relax, I'm not going to stick you in any strange spot or crazy situation. You asked for 'the most elaborate, most extravagant, biggest thing we put up'." She spoke while making a 'quote' gesture with her own fingers "So you're going to see it. They don't present on open stage either, so consider yourself priviledged."
Once they arrived at the right door the redhead lass took an ornate key from her pocket (pretty much the same as the symbol of CAEsAL) and opened it. That single room filled in at least half of the whole floor and the walls were painted blue with white cloud drawings, mimicking the sky. The ceiling was made high enough as if there should have been another floor above that one but with no ground separating them.
The 'show' itself indeed matched what Lasair had watched for: it looked like a mix of ballet and Olympic gymnastics presentations.
The 'angels' were all younglings from 12 to 15 years old wearing theater play-styled loose tunics, artificial white wings strapped onto their backs by a series of belts and string props that came from above. Each holding one or two long ribbons that fluttered in colorful fast circles and while themselves danced around in the air, amid elaborate loops and twirls.
Only looking more attentiously to the sparce couple people who were sitting on the beds rather than midair one could see in truth there were no truly functional stage props. A little girl sitting nearby had all her wrapping contraptions lying on the mattress and her newly-washed wings were still naturally attached to her body, revealing fluffy feathers of an almond brown that matched her hair color, and she kept flapping them slightly once in a while to get rid of the wet weight.
Be thankful to your guild, Lasair. Had you been from anywhere else Edelweiss would not be showing you this.
