Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"You were named after our cat?" Pearl is squinting her eyes even more at them, in a I-see-what-you-did-there-Stephen look, but blinked a couple times at the mention of Edelweiss. "She's upstairs... with a bunch of clockwork dolls."
Unfortunately for Eryn, all windows are locked shut. While the house's doors might not be proving to be very effective barriers today, the windows were quite resistant and had reinforced padlocks.
Try the backdoor to the kitchen, Eryn. It's open at the moment, and that's where Stephen and Elaine are.

Elaine watched the conversation until the kitten nudged her. She looked at the fuzzball smiling before leaning down to pick her up. Cradling the cat in her arms she scratched behind its ears and petted it gently. Stephannie seemed to love attention. Upon hearing the girls question she spoke up still stroking the cat. "I believe the cat would have been named after him." Elaine pointed to Stephen. He was definitely born before the feline by all means. Edelweiss? Their guild leader she only met once? With clockwork dolls? That may explain the multitude of toys out front. "Are they dolls of her creation?" She asked the girl.

"No, the bunch of them trespassed around an hour ago." Pearl frowned. "She didn't seem to mind, but she can't make clockwork. And I don't like clockwork. Never know when the stuff is about to explode on my face and leave horrid burns. And the half-doll hurt her." She then turned back to Stephen. "You should feel honored, Stephannie is a very smart fluffy cat." And said smart fluffy cat is currently purring all content on Elaine's arms.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Edelweiss is sleeping like a rock.

Eryn tried her best to open the window but could not , there was locks , Eryn could hear the conversion that Stephen was having with what sounded like Pearl , why was pearl there? , never the less she know she could not be seen , this was still training. maybe she could use magic on the locks, she looked around for a lock if she could see it , then she could try and use Telekinesis to see if she could brake the lock's inner works to make it release ?

Of course, by the nature laws that reign over the universe, technologic things did not like magic. Therefore, the window locks didn't like Telekinesis, and at that intensity they were broken open with a loud 'clank' sound.

Amon's head snapped up at the sound. At the same time, the dolls looked towards the sound. Nodding at each other, Abby made her way back, looking into Edel's room. Amon nodded at the doll and she went deeper into the house to investigate. Amon looked back at Edel. He really hoped that it didn't wake up Edel (or at least not cause her to bolt up too fast)...and he certainly hoped it wouldn't attract too much attention from the people downstairs...

Eryn was amazed and shocked that her magic worked , the window opened but it made a loud noise , she panicked and quickly climbed up to the roof to hide from anyone coming to investigate the lock, a lesson that she know now that her little trick can work for more then just her arm and throwing things.

Noise.
That was the first thought Edelweiss' mind registered.
A loud noise in the house. Possibly a threat.
Differently from what happened when Amon tried to set her back better on the bed earlier, the redhead woke up with her eyes still closed, and waited a moment. The noise didn't repeat itself. There was something in the house. She opened her eyes and sat up slowly, being careful of the stitches this time. Amon was still there, nodding to one of his dolls. The doll went out of sight to investigate - so that sound definitely had not been her imagination.
"What happened?"
She pondered if she should stand up or not. It would depend on the answer.

"I don't know..." Amon replied, a mixture of caution and annoyance for whatever awoke Edel. "Ah!"
He quickly bolted up, and rushed to the doorway and called out to Abby.
"Abby!" [If it's magical, do not engage. Come back and report.] he clicked.
[Understood.] she replied.
[Abe, continue monitoring the stairs.] he clicked towards Abe.
[Got it.] he replied.
With a sigh, he returned to his spot. Making a fist with his metal arm, a compartment on the forearm opened, and a modified pistol popped out. Taking some supplies out of his bag, he loading the pistol before putting the supplies back in the bag.
"Better safe than sorry..." he said, keeping his arm and the barrel aimed upwards, prepared to shoot if necessary.

Eryn could hear talking from inside the house , one of the voice sounded familiar, at this point Eryn know she had to get in , so she climbed to the window and slowly opens it and got in , closing it behind her and then quickly climbing up the room wall near the door in the room so she would be above it. thanks to her mouse like ability to climb.

Edelweiss sighed. Standing up then, that was it. No way she was going to let something unknown wander by the house, she had went overboard about how many uninvited surprise guests she was receiving. She glanced at the spatula on the desk again - sure it was sharp on the edges, but she was low on patience for thieves and invaders right now, so part her usual work weapon would make do instead, and she strapped the set of needles around a wrist with a quick and silent motion before slow and carefully letting her feet touch the floor.
"Do you talk to them in some variation of morse code?"
She looked at Amon, who had apparently finished 'clicking around' with the twin dolls. He was busy loading a gun at the moment. Her first thought was "I hope it doesn't break" if he was planning to shoot it around while there, since even only counting herself and Pearl there were two 'magic sources' to offer interference already. She headed towards the door; 'better be safe than sorry'. "I have to agree o that."

Abby continued to move downstairs, deeper into the house, mentally calculating her route. She did quick glances here and there, her audio sensors strained to the max in order to pick up the sound breathes of the intruder. Be that as it may, she felt a familiar sign just before hearing the sound of a window closing.
"Intruder is Ander, reporting back," she thought as she made her way back to Amon and Edel.
"Yeah, my personal spin on it. Not even EIRAL should be able to decipher it," he said standing up. "Um...you sure you're going to be okay..? We just redid your-"
At that moment, Abby returned.
"Ander intruder is approximately 3 rooms down," she reported. "...Shouldn't you still be in bed?" she asked Edel.

"Shouldn't you never try to use a gun to shoot an Ander, Amon?" The redhead asked in response to his question of if she shouldn't stay there and rest. There was no sarcasm there, even. That thing could literally explode on his face when he tried to shoot, or overheat and burn his hands, from trying to shoot something magical. Firearms were static/imobile enough that as long as not in use - or at least Edelweiss thought so - they didn't show malfunction signs when nearby Andersweltlers, but once one was put to work, and there was the barrel rolling and a bullet propelled by a small explosion through a hollow cilinder... it wasn't all that different from a steam-powered or otherwise geared gadget.
"I'll be fine, as long as I don't move too hastly. And this is my family's house still; I can't simply let people keep coming in and out uninvited and doing as they please - you at least are friends... The noise source, I'm not certain."
And that's why she'll go downstairs now. The mechanic could follow her if he wants, or stay there and avoid damaging his mechanical pieces.

So his search for Edelweiss had finally come to an end. What a relief! To be honest with himself he had been rather worried about his guild leader and, dare he say, friend. That, and the thought of running a guild full or artists and assassins all by himself scared him beyond measure. Most of the assassins probably disliked him to begin with. If she left no doubt they would try to over throw him or something drastic like that. Turning back to the present conversation, he snorted at Pearl's comment "Of course!f No other creature deserves the honor of my title other than this fine cat." Hearing commotion from inside, he craned his head to look in. Turning to Elaine, he frowned that she was in possession of the cat. With a sigh, he turned and walked into the house. There was a door directly ahead of him and a door to his right. Choosing the door in front of him, he pushed through it to see a spacious entrance room and stairs leading upwards. "Edelweiss? I apologize for the intrusion but I brought you donuts!" he called out as he glanced around, not particularly caring if she was asleep or not. If she was and it woke her up, good; she deserved that for making him worry for the past few weeks with her absence.

That voice. She knew that voice.
"......Stephen. " Edelweiss muttered, her facial expression being just an intrigued eyebrow raising while her mind was ranting with an arm flailing around. It's not like she'd hidden herself completely, only enough to avoid danger while recovering and she left plenty of clues for her CAEsAL subordinates to find her. Still.... a mechanic not even from her District found her faster than her second-in-command. Stephen, I am disappointed. You'll need more doughnuts than you can carry to nullify the disappointment. Thankfully she had already been awake and up when Stephen had called her, so the eyepatched noble wasn't at fault for waking her up. That noise must have been caused by something else, and she'd need to verify it soon or later anyway.
Either way, downstairs she goes. Hair left down and barefooted, still with the sick-est face any of the people present there probably ever saw her with; if it worked as any sort of fashion solace, at least she got new stitches (courtesy of Abby). And although for a diverse reason, the strap of nail sets was still attached to her wrist like on a normal mission night - though the wire ropes were missing, and the sleeves weren't hiding it.
