Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Stephen nodded, understanding. The flicker of emotion on her face did not go unnoticed. She still was uneasy about what happened before. A thought suddenly crossed his mind. What would she think of him being an assassin. Pondering this, he stared at her. Most definitely she would not approve. So he would have to hide it from her as well. All these secrets were starting to weigh on him. "Well, you need not worry. The threat has been taken care of. Pardon me while a go find a bandage. I prefer not to bleed out on my nice clothing." With his hand still over the cut he searched through some of the cabinets for a bandage. His demeanor was calm once more. He was simply too tired to keep up the frightened noble act in front of these people. Finding a roll of bandage, he attempted to wrap it around his head, but failed. It was not his fault that he never had any medical training.

"I can help you with that, if you'd like. I do have some medical experience, of course." Iacomus said abruptly as he had entered the area where Stephen searched, making no sound except for the words he spoke that, though seemingly innocent, were malicious-sounding underneath. This nobleman was the only one who could have made such wounds to their attackers, as a grenade could obviously do no such damage. He smiled a wholesome smile, that was obviously not actually wholesome, and waited for the boy's response.

"Not in here," Mulven said, laying a hand on Iaco's shoulder as he attempted to enter the doorway. "Nice try, but we've got priority, and the doctor's tied up tending to one of our own," he meant Rava of course. "If you want to help fancy-pants, you'll have to do it here in the foyer. No one's going near -- the hospital bed." Probably best not to say her name either, he thought.

"Oh my, I am quite sorry to hear that one of your own is injured! I'm sure the doctor here will take good care of them, though, of course. Did you know that I witnessed him remove a bullet from a winged-ander I know, right there on the spot in my shop? Speaking of shops, you're a Merchanic as well, are you not? I think I've seen you in the Merchants district! I am Iacomus, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" He twirled his hat in his long fingers as he bowed, flipping his tail coat as he did, and stood back up, turning back to Stephen. Who was this person they were waiting on in the hospital bed, he wondered? The hunters that were searching for the woman in the poster came here, ready to attack... Of course, it was possible that they were simply running a muck in the city, but there was also a chance that the woman from the poster was the one who the man who threw the grenade had mentioned was wounded...
The thief frowned a little as Stephen stared at her for a moment before he went off to look for a bandage. "...What was that about?" she asked of nobody in particular before she shook her head and shrugged. At the sound of the new persons voice however, Ikuze's own posture went on the defensive once more. There was something about the man, this Iacomus, that she did not trust whatsoever. Every single inch of her skin crawled just looking at the man, and every single nerve in her body was screaming at her that he was trouble in full capital letters. She clutched onto the neck of her guitar, bracing herself for a fight if this Merchanic tried to pull something.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Mulven Renehan, quickest - nevermind, Stephen," he called to the fancy-pants, finally proving that he really did remember the mans name after all, "Come here and get your head wrapped, I'm going to check on our girl." He left the door and did just that.

Iacomus suspected him. This much he knew. This would be alright though. He already had a few more valid excuses up his sleeve that he could use when needed. Maybe. It was certainly a blessing that Mulven stepped in though. There were more important matters to take care of before he attended to his head. "Thank you, Iacomus, but I must decline as I am already well taken care of here." Stephen noticed Ikuze's strained posture. The woman was wise to not trust him.
"I think it would be for the best if you went on your way, Sir. Your charming good looks seem to have started that young lady" he finished with flattering smile, ushering him towards the door. "I will visit you some time in your shop so that we may better know each other. You would make an invaluable acquaintance for me." Years of living in the upper crust allowed him to perfect the polite politics required for one to get ahead in the social life. There was nobody worth pleasing here but he usually got his way if he turned on the noble charm with people. Usually. Just because he was rude did not mean he was unknowledgeable on how to be polite.

"Ah, yes, you are correct, this is a clinic, after all, and I am not one of its doctors." Iacomus smirked. He could tell that nobody in this whole facility trusted him, and, even though that could be a problem later on, it almost pleased him. The second man, Mulven, seemed to be hiding something as well, and of course the red-headed boy was as well, which had been for certain for quite awhile. "If you'll excuse me," Iacomus said with a turn and a flick of his tail coat "I'm going to see if I can speak to the doctor about something. I bid you a good evening!" He waved his fingers in a wave-like fashion, and headed to the back of the clinic where the hospital beds were located. Was he going to speak to the doctor? Of course not. He took out the wanted poster briefly to get one last glance at the woman, and then peered inside the room. His suspicions were correct; it was her.
Ikuze watched the top hatted man carefully, catching a brief movement from his jacket as he peered into the room... where Rava was! "Oh no you don't." she snarled before striding right up to the man. "Hey!" she called out to get his attention. "Forget you were ever here." she said, tracing her words with her Deceit magic. "Forget you ever saw her." said the thief, her words being laced with more of the mental manipulation magic, all of it directed at Iacomus. As soon as she was done she turned her focus to Stephen and Mulven. "Get him out of here now before he comes to. Quick!" Once the deed was done, the thief leaned against the wall, holding her head with her eyes closed tight, her chest rising and falling as if she were exhausted.

Mulven whipped around when he heard Ikuze shouting. His eyes went wide to see the man had gotten past fancy-pants (a lot of good he was) and peeked in on Rava. Ikuze did some voodoo mojo magic on the guy and put him in a daze. He tried not to listen to her in case it went viral, but then she snapped at him to remove the stranger and he felt coherent enough to do that. Which made him wonder how much of her spell worked, and how much it didn't. "C'mon, out you go," he muttered, grabbing the merchanic under the arm and guiding him away from the hospital bed. The man was not helping, his body rigid and unyielding as Mulven tugged him. Zombie much? he thought, but was that the case or was it natural resistance?

Suddenly, Iacomus felt a fog enter his head, and he stood there, dazed. He couldn't seem to be able to think of anything at the moment, besides that he had forgotten something... What was he thinking about before then? Suddenly someone tried to drag him out, but he shook his head and gasped. Wait, why was he here? "What is going on? Er-May I ask why I am here, and why someone is shoving me out? Oh no... Did Clancy convince me to try that whiskey game again? I do apologize profusely!"

Stephen could not convey how glad he felt that Ikuze was here to fix this problem. Iacomus was far to slippery to be trusted. The man NEVER listened! After having a moment of thanks for not being at the receiving end of Ikuze's magic, Stephen moved to drag Iacomus out as well. He searched his pockets just in case he had something that might have connected him to this event. Sure enough, there was a wanted poster in his pocket and Stephen took the liberty to removing it from him.
The name Clancy came up, sparking his interest. Maybe Clancy was a friend? Information to be stored away for later. "Sir, you actions tonight were atrocious! You behavior was most untasteful! Go home straight away before we ban you from Central Square" he snapped, fury in his voice. It was not hard to act angry with this man, he already greatly disliked him. Although he was not the strongest, with Mulven's help they managed to shove Iacomus out the door and into the street. "Go home before we call the police!" he snapped, slamming the door shut.
Now that the threat was gone he could attend to other important matters. "Stop overexerting yourself" he huffed, rushing over to Ikuze. "Sit down before you faint on any of us" he instructed her. After all this was done he would make sure Ikuze got home safe. She certainly had a packed night.
The thief didn't even bother trying to fight back against Stephen's instructions and just sat her butt down on the floor where she was standing, resting her head against the wall. "So... they all gone yet... or can we be expecting more guests?" Ikuze asked as she looked at the two men, before looking over towards Rava. "Thought we... sorted this problem out... back in Ca'alla..."
Rave tried to look over after she heard thing happen as her vision was getting too blury again, as Ikuze said some about the hunters "they were .. not Ca'alla.... more eastern, past things from other places .... can hunt anyone ..." she said to her friend as she started to slip back to unconscious again due to her lose of blood. the clock tower was burned to a crisp as it fell apart from all the metal inside losing all the wood that was the supports beams. making a lot of metal clangs as the bell hit the ground ringing it for one more time.
the tower was no more , and no more will the clock call out the time.

Stephen listened to the two tired women converse. Rava must have quite the interesting story to tell if she has hunters coming after her. It might need some looking into on his part. "I do not think there will be another attack tonight. The last two hunters seemed to not have known Rava was in this location and only acted because Iacomus had this in his possession" he held the crumpled wanted poster up for all to see then ripped it up and tossed the remaining scraps into a garbage bin near the window.
Turning once more he faced the group. "Rava can stay here for the night, I do not think Dr. Flintlock would mind?" The person in question smiled and gave his consent. Stephen nodded then turned to Ikuze, offering her a hand. "I think it would be for the best if I accompanied you back to your house, if you would permit me to do so. You do not seem fit to be alone. Can you walk or would you prefer I carry you?" She was done for the day, this much he could tell. He wanted everyone to go about their business so that this matter may be behind them all.
