Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Trust me, these are not my 'Sunday threads'." No way he would wear something that nice around here. But he appreciated that she was not going to empty her stomach on him. He gestured for her to pick up a watch as he turned to pick up the next bracelet. This one, according to his calculations, was suppose to absorb the PME's instead of block them like the last two bracelets so hopefully they would not give the wearer any side effects. Gently he took it up in his hands and clicked it into place around her wrist.
She waited for the bracelet to be snapped into place around her wrist before picking up the watch. It did the same thing as with the last bracelet. Stopped ticking, then resumed again, then stopped, then went again, each with five second intervals. The thief herself however blinked a little before her eyes rolled up into the back of her head, and she began to fall over unconscious.

"Bloody Hell" Stephen swore as he lunged forward and grabbed the girl before she toppled out of the chair. He adjusted her in her seat as he quickly undid the bracelet. "Ikuze are you alright?" he asked nervously as he set the bracelet down on the table, turning his full attention back to her. If she did not wake up should he dump a glass of water on her? He took her wrist and checked her pulse.
Ikuze sat there slumped in the chair, completely out cold, even with the bracelet removed. Her pulse was normal as could be in the situation. The girl's breathing though was shallow however. Her lips were moving however, as if she were speaking, although no sound was coming forth. If anyone could read lips accurately, all they'd get was a jumbled mess about mothers, blood, fates, and something about flossing.

After examining her breathing and temperature he deducted that she was just temporarily knocked out. "Well there goes test subject number one" Stephen said with an irritated sigh. And He had been so close to uncovering something here! Most likely she would not be up to try the last two bracelets. He busied himself with pulling out one of the cloth napkins he brought with the feed. After dampening it with water he placed it lightly on her forehead, slightly moving her in a more comfortable position. He tilted her head back so that her tongue would not block her airway. Good thing he had read multiple medical books before this, just incase such side effects occurred. Her breath was getting somewhat more shallow. He really hoped that he would not have to do mouth to mouth with the girl. The thought made him unease firstly because he did not know that much about resuscitating someone that way and the thought of putting his mouth onto a girls.... lets just say that was not something he had done often. Or ever.

Since his arrival in Lodan, something nagged at Tyrell. It was a sense of something corrupt and disturbing that lurked around the city. Everywhere he went he felt uneasy and so often stayed near the outskirts. Today however, he needed supplies and ventured into the slums in hope of finding some sort of odd job in order to make some money and if he couldn't make money, then perhaps steal what was necessary to live. Of course, if it resulted to that, he wouldn't take from someone who couldn't get by without it. For several hours he'd wandered around and today he had debated on keeping his wings hidden or to leave them out. He did not like hiding them, no, but the discomfort this place provided was enough to have him reconsider. Landing in an alley, he retracted his wings and then drew up his hood before making his way out. Eventually he came across a poster and as his interest was piqued, he decided he would go for it.
Moments later the winged andersweltler found himself outside of the location the poster had identified and for awhile he sat staring at the door unsure if he should knock. A second passed by and finally he inhaled then knocked on the door gently before entering. "Hello," he called out with a bit of caution, one hand prepared to grab his brass knuckles should he need them. "Is there work I can help with for Andersweltlers?"

It didn't take more than a minute after Tyrell entered the stabilishment before the door was cracked open once again and then a hand was spotted on the handle, followed by the arm and full body that were glued to it. Two more people coming: first a redhead adult in a neatly tailored turquoise suit, being followed by a short dark-skinned teenager whose eyes were half-hidden under a very old beret. They were barely reaching the end of their own chat before turning to look at who was already inside and greet them: "You can't be serious." "Nah. Heard it by the window, for real. He said he'd roll in the dirt." the response to that statement sounding so sure was a mirthful, albeit short laughter followed by a question. "And then you had to immediately run after me?" Silence. "Alright, alright, that sounds good enough to take a look."
Edelweiss took a few strands of reddish hair away from her eyes and turned her attention to the three men in the room, spotting Stephen but at the moment saying nothing about it except a soundless 'he doesn't look dirty to me' whisper to the kid behind herself. "Good evening. There's a paid job for Andersweltlers in here, right?" And then she spotted the completely out cold Ikuze seated on a chair. "...Is she sleeping, or needing a doctor?"

Stephen felt a thrill go through him when more people came in. More test subjects!!! Now he would not have to over work this girl! Oh glorious day! His eyes flickered with excitement but he managed to compose the rest of his person. "Ah, yes! Hello, please do come in! We would appreciate your services." he called out to the first chap. Then he noticed that Epikuro's entrance. For some reason he felt nervous. Was he doing something wrong? Was she going to assassinate him for this? Maybe she was here just to pick up a few extra dollars as well... Oh right, the girl passed out in front of him. "No, I do not believe she needs a doctor. Her pulse is steady but her breathing is a little abnormal. I am keeping an eye on her just in case..." he stated, giving Ikuze a quick once over. This probably did not look very good to the possible new subjects; Especially the leader of the CAEsAL Guild...

The deaf man shuffled into the room and eyed Stephen for a moment before his face fell in defeat as he realized the man wore a mask over his lips. Quite honestly, he was surprised how many people covered their mouths here in this city. It didn't make any sense to him and gave him the impression they were shady--just as this fellow looked. The light that flooded in from behind him was faint but caught his attention none the less. He turned only to catch the last end of conversation coming from Epikuro since he could see her lips and even then where he stood and how she was faced made it hard to get the words. Looking back to Stephen, the tall man gestured to his own mouth and cleared his throat. "If it's possible to please remove? I cannot hear so must read," he explained hoping the other would understand. Of course, people did have secrets to keep and it was possible he'd have to adapt if the man refused.

Stephen blinked in surprise. So he must be deaf. Interesting. Well, it would be a bother if someone recognized him but really, no snooping noble was going to saunter down in this trash pit. Stephen nodded and took off his mask with an apologetic smile. He tried his best not to breath in the fumes of the place. After clearing his throat for a second in an attempt to dispel the smell of the place from his mouth he addressed the black haired Andersweltler "I apologize for that. As I was saying before, welcome! Yes, your help would be much appreciated." He flicked his eye over to the limp form of Ikuze, making sure she was not about to topple out of her chair.

The boy that entered the place along Edelweiss had gone forward to take a closer look at the unconscious girl, a few fingers touching her wrist and then rather dorkly poking her face. Well she did have a pulse and was breathing, so 'Mr. employer' over there might have told the truth about her not needing a medic. "Jasper, she's not a doll. And poking a lady in her sleep is not polite either, come here."
The redhead called over and he obeyed, albeit with some pouting. Yes she knew what he was truly doing but anyway that was not the best way to check a person's vitals. Stephen might be a little more surprised than before if asked her too, because truth to be told she came there neither for a killing nor for being paid - but because a certain kid was eavesdropping by the window and told her of the patrician promising Ikuze he'd roll in dirt for a visit and she didn't believe him so had been brought to see with her own eyes. Well, Jasper seemed to be in dire need of extra money anyway, so she might as well go ahead with that (depending on what it was) and give she share of payment to him. She turned back to look at Stephen. "So, what will you have us do?"

The thief girl groggily began to come back around, holding a hand to her head as she groaned a little. "Urgh... someone get the number of that train?" she asked before blinking at the sudden, to her eyes, appearance of quite a few more people in the room. "Gah! The hell did you all com- wait... was I... SOURPUSS!" she roared as the pieces clicked, turning her azure eyes upon him, furious rage clear in them. They almost seemed to be on fire... in fact her finger tips sparked once. (Pyromancy I) "I warned you what would happen if I wound up knocked out from your experiments! Your arse is about to meet my foot! Come here!" Ikuze tried to get past the throng of people in order to get to Stephen.

Stephen chuckled at the boy, Jasper is what Epikuro had called him, as he 'examined' Ikuze. He turned to address Epikuro with an excited glint in his eyes "Ah, it is simple really. All you do is-" his attention was snapped back to Ikuze who had just come to... then threatened to beat him up. A disapproving frown appeared on his face and he put his hands up innocently. Did sparks just shoot out of her fingers?! "Come now, no need to take this out on me! I did not do that on purpose you know!" he hurriedly jumped to his defense. "There is no need to get violent now! And Look at all the other volunteers we have now! You can take a nice long break and eat something. Fact if you want to be finished for the day I will pay you up front and full and add extra as an apology for your unconsciousness." he huffed then muttered more to himself "It is not my fault your body was to weak to handle the magnetic forces.."

"Magnetic forces? He made your hair turn blue using magnetism?" The boy asked with a bit of a disbelieving undertone, looking between the newly-awaken Ikuze and Stephen while they had that not very friendly chat between themselves. Edelweiss just sighed, looking around the room till spotting a seat or any nearby surface that could be used to sit down and guiding Jasper till there by holding his shoulders.
"Lovely seeing you again, Ikuze. And Mr...?" The look in the redhead's eyes let clear that she knew whom she was talking to. But right then she didn't think calling him Triune would be apropriated for the moment, and considering the clothes he wore then calling him Mr. Leland would suit the situation even less. "But what did you do that's related to both magnetic forces and Anders and made her pass out?" Stephen would need to admit it, it was not sounding appealing to them at the moment, and he would have to explain what he wanted them to do and why before resuming his discussion with the blue-haired girl.

"No, she came in looking like that. I had no part in changing her abnormal hair color." What to call himself. Dagger seemed somewhat childish now so might as well go with his unwanted nick-name "Sourpuss. Most people just call me Sourpuss. Why that is, it is beyond me." he said in a displeased tone.
When Epikuro asked about his experiment he visibly brightened. "Ah let me explain it to you all then." he made sure that his mouth was visible to the deaf fellow as he began. "As most you of Andersweltlers have probably noticed, steam technology has a tendency to malfunction when you are around. My theory is that this is because of the PME's naturally emitted from your blood stream interrupts the steam technology's circuit systems, causing them to slow down and malfunction. I am trying to create a device that will either block or absorb your extra EMP's, allowing Andersweltlers to use technology without trouble. The problem with the last two devices that I had test subject number one- ah, I mean Miss Ikuze used is that they blocked her EMP's. Since the amount of EMP's were contained in her body, she had a sort of system overload because of the increased amount of EMP's in her body; Thus causing head aches and loss of consciousness. The interesting thing is that the higher amount of containment did indeed allow the technology to work around her. Alas, the side effects were to great to have a finished product. I have a couple more devices that I believe will absorb your EMP's instead of blocking them inside you." The way he talked about his experiment was the way one would talk about a dear friend; he was so infatuated with the subject that he forgot about the possible threat from Ikuze.
