Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Stephen could not help but chuckle at her comment about the basement "No, no, nothing like that. What would I want to kidnap you for anyways." When he heard the clank of the door being opened he turned to see a large man walk in. "Ah, yes that was me. You may call me Dagger, NOT Sourpuss thank you. " he shot a look at Ikuze. His attention was brought back to Ikuze as she tested out the bracelet. He could not hide his smile when he saw the watch only stall. "That is progress that I like to see." He quickly turned and started to scrawl out more notes, muttering things to himself. Once he was done, he picked up the broken watch from the first test and handed it to the man "I would ask that you work on this watch first. Once you are done, please show it to me. We can talk about your pay afterwards... Pardon, but what is you name Sir?"

With a grin Jack grabbed a broken watch off the table. "Perhaps you won't need my help after all halfling." Taking some steps back and resting himself on an old crate he examined the watch. "Not too much unlike fixing a gun I suppose" He said through lips wrapped around his cigarette.
"So who are you two, lovers?" looking up at the two in a half aware manner, his focus drawn to the watch, giving him some troubles here and there. Stretching he removed his rifle from his back making himself more comfortable. "I usually sell information but you know there's this beautiful place near the docks, wonderful for a date."
"What?!" exclaimed Ikuze, looking first at Sourpuss, then at the new guy, then back to Sourpuss before glaring at the new guy. "Hell no! I'm just here to break or not break the stuff you're fixing." she explained, glowering at the two of them. The thief then realised that that her reaction maaaaay put her current "employer" in an even worse mood. "Besides, he's already taken. Kinda an unspoken rule down here, least among the girls, you don't take someone else's beau." hastily explained the blue haired girl. She then looked over at Sourpuss. "Since you're Dannielle's I ain't interested. So, need more watches busted or?"

Stephen twitched "Please, refrain from calling me a halfling." he said pointedly, placing the watch in the man's hand. After Jack had taken the watch from him, Stephen turned back to his work, thinking to himself and scrawling an occasional note down. He had been so engrossed in his work that he not heard the comment about him and Ikuze dating but he was brought back to the present from her dramatic reaction to the comment. His eyes widened and a blush suddenly dusted his cheeks when she mentioned Danielle "W-What?! When was I ever claimed by her??" He sputtered, in complete shock. Last he checked the girl hated him. "No, no, no, she would not want to be with the likes of me." he mumbled with a sigh "ALSO, I did not consent to my person being claimed! This is not some kind of market place where you can just buy any man as yours as you so please. Really, the gall of it all." he rambled on in a huff. "Now please, enough with the who is owned by who talk, back to the more important matters at hand." he He pointed to the next magnet, a different one than before "Take off the magnet you have on and replace it with that one before you pick up another watch. This one is similar to the first one but it has stronger magnetic force in it. So this might just do the trick." he fiddled with his fingers excitedly, eager to see what would happen. All negative emotions were forgotten for the time being. The thrill of it all made him feel like a child in candy land.
BAHA I loved the question Jack and your reaction Ikuze! That was priceless!

With a childish grin and a chuckle under his breath he responded. "Fine, fine, it's no business of mine. I don't think you could handle her anyway she seems to have a lot of fire." Realizing what he said he avoided making eye contact with Ikuze. He placed the last few pieces of the watch together and brought down his fist to fit the last stubborn piece. Dusting off his coat he stood up, bringing up the watch under some light to see if it functioned. As it ticked he smiled and reached out his hand, watch resting in his open palm. "Ha, see no problem at all. Oh right where are my manners, the names Jack."

"She certainly is a character. Everyone in this city seems to be." he muttered under his breath as he took the watch from Jack. He studied it and nodded his head in approval "Well done, thank you. It is a pleasure to meet you Jack" He offered him his hand to shake. Now he would be able to test if the bracelet prevented once-broken watches from breaking again. Oh the excitement of it all!
Ikuze put down the first watch rolling her eyes at the commentary from the two men. She then replaced the magnet she had on with the second one, her other hand going to her head as a headache began to form rather suddenly. "Urgh... is it meant to do that?" she asked, looking at Sourpuss in confusion before picking up the watch once more. And once more all it did was stall... until it ticked forward once, and then resumed stalling for around ten seconds before ticking forward again. And once again it stalled for ten seconds, only to tick forward once after the ten seconds passed. All the while, the headache persisted. The thief looked around slowly, her free hand still holding her head. "There a chair in here I can use? Think I need to sit down... and please... you were her's the moment you said yes. All couples have spats."

Stephen's eye shot up in concern. He quickly grabbed his chair behind the table and offered it to her. Gently he took her arm and helped her into the chair. "Here, take the bracelet off. Let's give you a little break." he instructed. So it was working but it cause a headache. So that type of magnet, if it's force was increased, caused headache for the user. He wished he had some other subjects to try it on to see if that statement held true but alas he only head one. Well, he was happy to have even one subject. "Would you like something? I have some water and a snack in the back room." he turned to look at Jack "The offer stands for you as well."
The thief offered token resistence purely out of instinct as she was taken over to a chair. She put the watch down first before removing the bracelet, her headache almost immediately clearing up, Ikuze letting out a soft sigh of relief in the process. "Much better... How'd you say these things were to work again?" she asked, pointing at the bracelet she just removed, not exactly willing to wave it about or have contact with that one again. The blue haired girl waved off his offer. "I'll be fine... had something earlier." she shrugged. Earlier of course having been this morning, just a couple of hours after dawn, and that had consisted of the only non-mouldy piece of her bread that remained which was barely a mouthful, along with some rainwater that had formed a miniature waterfall from the corrugated roofing. Her stomach however betrayed her as it growled, resulting in the girl looking down at the offending organs and frowning. "Shush." said Ikuze, poking the hungry beast within.

When her stomach growled he could help but let out a short laugh "I will grab you something. Wait right here." He made his way to the other room and found the container that he had brought some small sandwiches, a few biscuits and jam. It was chiefs cooking so no doubt it would be good- though he could have done without the sass the man had given him on his request for food. 'Are'nt ya fat enough!' ; the mans insult echoed through his head. If anything, he was getting thinner and thinner by the day! And who was he to comment about his physical state anyways!
Stephen shook his head and brought the food in "As for the bracelet, is it meant to contain the wearers PME's, which are naturally emitted from those with Anderswelter blood. It acts as an absorbent for the PME's, either containing the energy in the bracelet or in the wearers body. The bracelet you just wore was one that contains the PME's in the body." He rambled on as he set the food down on the table and went back very quick to get the container of lemon water. "I hypothesis that a headache occurred because of your body's tolerance level to the amount of PME's in your blood stream. In other words, your body emits PME's naturally because it can not hold over a certain amount of PME's inside you. The bracelet was blocking the PME's from escaping so they began to build up in your system, causing strain to your head. I have another theory about expanding and Andersweltler's tolerance level to the amount of PME's in their system but that is another story." He finished his explanation with an assured nod as he set the drinks down next to the food.

Jack put out his cigarette against the bottom of his boot "So you think this thing will actually work? From how you spoke earlier it doesn't seem you much care about the Anderswelter." Feeling that the job was starting to sound more dangerous than he initially thought he walked over to a window, moving the blinds to take a peak outside. Satisfied seeing nothing he walked back to the other two at the table. He glanced over at the girl. "Still a bit woozy lass?"
The thief rubbed her head a bit. "Nah, feel fine now." she said, looking at the tiny sandwiches and biscuits, an eyebrow being raised at the sight before her. She picks up one of the triangular sandwiches and looks at it funnily. "No wonder you lot are all skinny... although doesn't explain the fat ones." mused Ikuze aloud before she popped the whole thing into her mouth and began to chew. She couldn't help but give a long mmmmm at the taste of the scrumptious food. She took a sip of the lemon water, and raised an eyebrow once more. "Eh, I think your water tastes a little funnier than usual... tangy, but not the metallic tang around here." she said before shrugging and drinking the rest in her cup.
When Sourpuss was going on about why he thought she had had a headache with some complicated theory, she let out a little burp after having had four more of the mini-sandwiches and three biscuits. "Eh, excuse me." said Ikuze, not really seeing the point to it, but according to Caitlin its what a lady says after burping or farting. "Um, doesn't blood go up to your head? Could just be with that thing blocking these PMS things, it put a strain on the blood in my head. Or something, I dunno."
Stephen smirked at her 'fat ones' comment "Generally those people would not eat something like this. I have seen a man eat a whole pig by himself in one sitting, it was highly disgusting to observe." he commented, his lip twitching up a little in disgust. "As for my feeling towards Andersweltlers, I would depend on who I am talking to on whether to voice my true thoughts on them." no need for him to inform them of that information though. He eyed Ikuze disapprovingly when she burped. A sigh escaped his lips at her last comment "That is exactly what I just said but in a more mundane manner of speech" was his dull response. No use getting mad at her though. Not everyone can be a genius.
He picked up one of the biscuits and munched absentmindedly on it. "Would you like to continue the test since you are feeling better?" he asked as he leaned against the table. It was not his intention to be pushy but he was eager to see the results of the next bracelet and he had never really been known for his patience.

Jack stood there in astonishment as the girl ate. "You act like you've never seen food in your life lass." He wasn't needed currently so he retired to a box near the table, removing his rifle, clearing the barrel and making sure everything was in order. The smell from the kitchen had wafted in. His stomach betrayed him but now wasn't the time for food, he had to be sharp, he had to be focused. The boy was talking to the girl about more trials which meant more work soon to keep Jacks attention.
"Food like this? Not really common down here." shrugged the thief as she wiped her lips clean with her tongue. "Least not in this condition anyway." She returned her attention to Sourpuss. "Alright then. It's what you're paying for so let's get this show on the road." said Ikuze as she put out her wrist for the next bracelet, but staying on the seat just in case. She espied a bucket in the corner of the room and quickly darted over, grabbed it, and brought it back with her to the chair where she promptly placed it between her legs and just below her head on the floor. The blue haired girl sat back down in the chair. "What? Hey, the last one made me dizzy... God knows what the next one will do. Figured you wouldn't want your sunday threads all covered in vomit." shrugged the girl as she waited for the next bracelet.
