Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Playing with the thought, Sayvahn nodded absent mindedly. Still, how strange. What could an individual gain from kidnapping the girl? Her magic? Her mother’s wealth? Apparently she came from a well established family, but was that really just it? “Do you believe that the person was just after her, or could they be aiming toward someone else? Like, a trap in a sense?” Sayvahn questioned, looking to the sky. If that was the case then this would be no normal skirmish— but perhaps it was just a ransom, just a simple kidnapping afterall. Still, the thought persisted, and until proved otherwise, it was difficult to ignore. “You say they found her in the woods— how would they even known to look there? Do you think M.I. location has been breached?” He hoped not. He had just started to like the place. They had quite a nice library— and the view, both ander and nature alike, was also quite dashing.

As Eryn appeared behind the door, Lasair turned with Sayvahn to walk towards it, answering the man’s questions on the way. “I think it was just her, probably ransom sent to the mother. And the base is safe; people wander in the woods sometimes, usually to do bad things like trade drugs. But only the desperate and the crazy do their business there. Looks like one of them just so happened to pick up our target.”
As he got to the door, he motioned for Sayvahn to go in first and then followed, closing the door behind them. “Upstairs or downstairs first?” he whispered to the two of them, wondering about their opinions before he shared his own.
as the 2 entered the through the door she put a finger to her lips and pointed at the door where the voices where coming from in the front , as they got closer they could hear clear as day
one voice shouted what seemed to be a different language, the sound of the voice sounded it was not from lodan as she stung together what seemed to be jibrish. another familiar voice was heard " because my dear, my 'little girl' has failed to become a witch , the 1st strike was when her arm got destroyed and revenge was never gotten , the second was when a man called Lasair put her in the state you found her, all I was put the nail in the coffin, besides she was only one of meany 'little girls" of mine " more angry jibrish was followed as the familiar voice spoke up more as the sound of a gun could be heard as a click and the rattle of metal came out. "oh you poor silly dear , i know your pain .I just lost my lovely Elm and how do you think I feel , Knowing that the best little girl failed me , oh well , at lest she done most of the work for me so now she will fall into madness and become useless to anyone. I must go for now , ta ta and lets hope my next little girl does better~ " with that there was a few gun shots and what sounds to be a bomb which which was followed by more jibrish and the sound of footsteps running out the front door.
Eryn pulled back in shock "no no no no no no no no , Elm had a wife! and children! , no no , oh god please why me life" Eryn know that name too well as she covered her face with her good hand and huffed before turning to Fox "hay this person we are here to get , what happened to her?!? ... I dealt with Elm before.... and I know we are on a mission But if Elm is involved then I need to know. " Eryn looked at Lasair as she pointed up the stairs knowing it may give them more time to talk "we should go upstairs 1st.. before down stairs , since we need to talk about this." she was going aganst her best guess since she now wanted to get information about who this person was , and who was the voice they heard was. this was a new stone that needed to be turned over as Eryn know that anyone who was with Elm was always going to be bad.

Grunting, Sayvahn tried to stifle a laugh. “If you consider the drug trade to be bad, dearie, punishment might be in order.” Sayvahn joked, but only half heartedly. He rather not go through the same fate as Lady Grey. Yet, the thought only lingered slightly as he entered the abode. And downstairs versus upstairs? Either was a fair guess, but one could result in a less favorable result.
And apparently the less favorable one was the one in which the girl led them to. Voices were heard— strings of language mixed together with one that Sayvahn recognized. But the one he recognized the most of all was the gunshot, and at last, the bomb. This didn’t seem right. Something else was going on, it seemed. And from what it sounded like, the woman speaking was in some relation to Lady Grey. Her mother, perhaps. But Sayvahn could be wrong. Especially as the little girl before him crumbled. Straightening, Sayvahn glanced between Lasair and the child. Leaning toward Lasair, Sayvahn lowered his voice. “I think there’s a whole level of this story we don’t know about. Or frankly, I don’t know about. I’m not certain if I like the idea of sitting here and chatting. It seems like people have retreated for the time being. I think it is best to go downstairs, and fetch Lady Grey, and quickly, before the others return. Then we can deal about this Elm or whoever.” Although, the girl’s change in demeanor was quite distressing, there was no time for chit chat. But, his guild leader was the one to make the call—Sayvahn just hoped it was a wise one.

Lasair stood quietly as the voices spoke from behind the wall. Gunshots and a bang; seemed like there was more violence here than he expected. And the girl, China, she seemed to know one of the names mentioned. She wanted to pause the mission, to talk, Lasair didn’t agree with that.
“We can talk after we get what we came for,” he stated, deciding that going downstairs first would be better. “We rescue her first, then you can ask all your questions.” He honestly didn’t care about what was going on behind the scenes, nor did he care about who these other people were. He was only here for Ratna. Taking a few steps, he went towards the staircase leading down.
Eryn did not like this idea at all now that they Elm was involed as she voiced her worried "but this is really important , you don't understand , the man known as Elm, he was a horrible person who tried to do a really bad things to people" Eryn know that there way always something bad that could happen but she stole herself and followed Fox down the stairs.
as the group got down the stairs , they came across a locked door that blocked the entrance, there was evidence of black blood on the floor ,It was as if someone was brought down there and locked it to keep something from leaving. there seemed to be a lot of locks on the door too as if they where hiding something.

So it seemed that the firefox would go down the rabbit hole, after all. Sayvahn smiled at that, choosing to follow closely to the man. The girl, on the other hand did not seem to like the idea. Though, frankly, what was she to know of horrible people? That was a stupid question to ask, really. Sayvahn had been much younger when he had met such horrible people. Still, he doubted that the man that the child spoke of was as much a threat to them as she presented. Though, if they did run into him, then the threat would be dealt with, as all things were.
But a different obstacle presented itself. Sayvahn noted the faint scent of blood, and the obvious traces of it across the ground. Though, the locks on the door were over kill, as far as he was concerned. “Hmm, seems like they don’t want a certain someone to get out, or perhaps, to get in.” Sayvahn pondered aloud, tilting his head toward the red headed man. “You wouldn’t happen to have something up your sleeve to undo this, would you? If not, I do have something, but I assure you, it brings quite a bang, and not the pleasurable kind. Unless, well, you have a thing for loud noises and fire. ” Sayvahn mused, crossing his arms. “I am never one to judge another man’s pleasures, you know.”

“There’s a lot of horrible people in this world,” he said to China as he walked, coming to a stop outside the door. The series of locks did look to be a bit much, but they would be easy to deal with.
“I can handle it,” he said quietly and reached for his belt, retrieving a water skin from it. He’d taken up the habit of carrying the materials he could cast magic with; water, flint and tinder, and a few other materials. It wasn’t much; the bigger materials were stored in his pocket dimension.
Taking the water skin, he poured the water over the locks slowly, taking extra care to make sure the water actually got inside the mechanics of the locks. And then calling up some magic, he cast Cryomancy over the stream, freezing the water both in and out of the locks. The metal within them snapped under the pressure of expanding water, rending the locks useless. He began pulling them off the door then, as quietly as he could manage.
as the door was broken open it slowly swung open with a loud Creck , inside is that seemed to be some sort of sick room quickly made up as Eryn rushed in she could smell a lot of Blood as well as a burning smell , one that she was too familiar with , she panicked as she ran over to someone who was laying on the table and was covered with a violet cloth. she looked sick , like she was in deep pain and was unable to awake in her poor state as black tears came from her eyes as well as what seemed to be a tattoo ran across her arm and body all the way down to her foot , Eryn stood with shock "what ... happened to her .."
( positioned )
Eryn stepped back as her foot hit what seemed to be a bottle , she quickly picked it up, the smell from it burned her noise really badly as she notice on the label ,the words that made her know this was now bad "Elm's... Cure .... the poison!" Eryn then turned back to Fox and the man "This is Bad!, she been poison that was made for people with black blood " she said as she pointed to her "they done that to her , We need to find a cure!"

How strapping, Sayvahn mused, watching his guild leader work, how he was able to call ice forth from the water, to chill and have the liquid invade and break the locks. The metal never stood a chance, and neither did Sayvahn’s admiration. The temptation to whistle was very strong, and so Sayvahn did the next best thing: smile. Quiet, but effective. “Nice job.” Sayvahn whispered, removing the locks as well, putting them to the side lest the group should knock into them. Yet, the door opened beside him, the lack of pressure, lack of holding from the locks, causing the door to naturally open. But before he could register the action, could act on his instinct of “step back, you don’t know what’s in there” the girl ran in. “Wait—“ he began, but it was too late. She had run inside, and he, he scrambled up to follow the foolish girl, spell, loose on his lips. Yet, there was no need. Only a woman lay inside, who he presumed to be Ratna. The smell of burning— of flesh, it had to been—escaped the room, and Sayvahn resisted the urge to cover his nose. Stepping closer, he saw Ratna lying, her body pale, and her blood, a deep black as it dripped from her eyes. However, another black crawled across her body. A tattoo, it seemed. The woman’s captor— this Elm person— was into branding his victims. How tragic, how horrible. The small girl inquired as to Ratna’s ailment and Sayvahn shrugged, stepping closer, wishing he knew enough magic to help relieve her pain, ever so slightly. But he nothing, aside from a simple fire spell. Looking to Lasair for guidance, he offered his own.
“I can carry her out.” Sayvahn began, but the sound of sliding glass made him turn back to the child, attempting to usher her to hush, but he was cut off once more. “Elm’s… cure… the poison!” Poison? What was the point in kidnapping and holding a person away, if their main goal was death? Or maybe, they had already gotten what they wanted, and chose to get rid of the body. But Posion? Strange. Again, Sayvahn looked to the tattoo. Maybe poison was the last measure to torture? However, there was no time to contemplate it. “Think you can cure her?” Sayvahn asked, looking to Lasair.

Lasair scrunched up his face when the odor reached his noise, and then he scowled when he saw what had happened to Ratna. It seemed she was a play thing for the one containing her; a sad sight indeed. When the girl mentioned poison, he felt confused. Why go to such lengths?
Bending down, he began to concentrate his magic. “I’ll try to heal her, but it depends on the type of poison this is,” he explained. Touching her shoulder gently, he cast the magic on her and hoped it would work. “Even if it doesn’t work, we need to get her out of here. Would you mind carrying her?” he looked towards Sayvahn as he asked. If the magical cure didn’t take, it would be worth it to find the actual cure to her poison. Perhaps going upstairs would be needed after all.
Eryn handed the bottle to Fox, it had the lable on it 'Elm industry Amazing plague cure, Saving humanity from Plagues!' "this stuff w was made, man made.. Elm marketed it as a cure for plagues but... it had an effected on Black blooded people , it boils black and make so much pain that black leaks out of you , It terrible horrible " Eryn said as she could smell that same boiling smell coming from the tattoo , "they must have mixed it into ink on her, no one should suffer like this "as Eryn searched around she found some stuff , placed in a bag , a selection of books but one stood out to her as she pulled out what looked to be Ratna's Grime , however , it looked like it was missing a lot of pages as Eryn opened it up as the lock had been broken , All the knowledge Ratna had was missing , ripped out "was this book hers?" Eryn asked as she worried as she continued to search for soemthing , anything for answers .

Trying was better than what Sayvahn could do. The only spell under his belt was fire, which he doubted could solve the problem at hand. But at least he could hoist the girl up, when the time came. “I don’t mind.” The feline stated, watching his guild leader work, meeting the fox’s eyes, but they wandered as the child explained the poison. The blood boils? Perhaps an allergic reaction? But only to general anders or to feline and winged ones as well? Sayvahn did not wish to volunteer to find out. Not as the girl writhed in pain. Though, if the tattoo was the source of the poison, meaning it had not been ingested, then, well, there could still be hope. “Well, if we really are low on ideas, and if the poison is only on the surface, we can cut it away.” How effective it truly was, Sayvahn could not vouche. He was smart enough to avoid the creatures, and their venom, and it had been a tactic he heard around the open baths back home. Maybe the “cure” for that would not transfer for poison as well. Who knew? Not him. He wasn’t a blasted doctor. That was the Raven’s job.

He couldn’t tell if his Toxin magic was taking hold, but perhaps it would take a few moments to start kicking in. In the mean time, she would be safe with Sayvahn carrying her. China’s question made him stop and turn to her. Taking the book he looked it over with a confused expression. He faintly remembered the book, back from when Ratna handed it to him asking him to read it. “Yes it was hers. I’ll hang onto it for her. Do you see any bottles around here? Or something that could help stop the bleeding.” He wanted to look upstairs next, while the owner was away and hadn’t noticed their entrance.
Eryn nodded as she searched around. most of the bottle on the side smelled of alcohol and Booze , others smelled sickly like off fruit mixed with yeast however there was a small set of bandages on the side as well as a device that looked like it was used by humans to stitch wounds that was hand held but has seemed to have been broken.
the Toxin magic didn't seen to be working or it was working but the poison was more stronger and seemed to be very resilient or it was not poison at all but something new?.
Eryn was trying to think things through , there was a lot of puzzles peaces missing , who was this women they where saving. why was she ended up in this state in the 1st place. as well as a lot more that kept burning questions that she wanted to ask Fox as she guessed of what could have happened , was there some sort of incident? did someone capture this lady or was she found? "I think if you get her out of here , me and fox will search stairs since it be hard to move with her in her current state, " Eryn suggested as she went back up the stairs , keeping an eye out for anyone coming their way.
