Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
She raised her glass and took a drink, before laughing at his next question. "Who's the most attractive one in here? Is that what you start all of your dates with?" She teased. "Well, I feel obligated to say you. Seeing as it is you who's company I am enjoying right now. But on that same note it wouldn't be a lie." She looked around the room, lingering on a face here and there. "You, in my personal opinion are one of the most attractive people in here. Don't let it go to your head. Oh, and second is that one over there." She gave a subtle gesture to the far side of the room at a striking young man with blonde hair. "He could make a good impression." The dark haired woman took another swig of her drink with a smug little smirk.

“You’re just being polite,” he teased, looking over his shoulder at the man she mentioned. He allowed his eyes to linger on the boy for a few moments before looking back at her. “He’s okay. But what about him?” Pointing behind Emily, he had a man with broad shoulders and short black hair in his sight. He looked like a sailor, but one who hadn’t been on a boat in a while, and also seemed like he was more refined, perhaps not actually a sailor? It was anybody’s guess from this distance.
"Maybe." She arched an eyebrow playfully before throwing nonchalant glance over her shoulder at the man he mentioned. "He isn't too bad, a little manly-ish, but not bad." She took another drink and saw another redhead walk by. His intense green eyes focused on something on the other side of the room and he had freckles dotting a slim face. "Lucky lad isn't he?" She grinned mimicking an Irish accent and giggling a little. Crossing her legs Emily leaned back in the seat a little relaxing and enjoying her time. Her mind was itching to read the map but she couldn't do so here. Too many prying eyes. It would have to wait, and she could give her patience a run for it's money.

He chuckled, eyes following after the fellow ginger. Wasn’t a bad looking guy, perhaps Lasair would have to ask him out for a fun night after mizz Raven departed. Turning back to Emily, he smiled anew, a fresh question coming to mind. “Okay new question.” He picked up his drink, sipping it more. “Most attractive female. Other than yourself, of course. It’s such a pain to take my eyes off of one such as stunning as you.”
"Oh, you flatter me sir." She turned her hazel gaze around the room. "There is a caramel haired one over there. Kinda pale but still, thin victorian fashion." She murmure looking over the woman's dress. This is what every little girl did from the age of eight to the time they died. Sit back and run critical analysis. Emily didn't do it as much as others but sometimes when asked a question like that you tend to delve a little deeper and look closely at details. "Do you see anyone?"

Glancing briefly at the woman in question, he quickly brought his gaze back to Emily. “No. Just you,” he chimed, feeling rather relaxed as the effects of the drink started to take hold. He started to sway in his seat a little, a silly grin on his face. There wasn’t much liquid left in his glass at this point, and what was there, he decided to swallow in one last gulp. “So whatcha gonna do with the treasure?”
Emily blushed a bit but quickly forced it under. She noticed him beginning to get tipsy, her glass still half full...or half empty...however you wanted to put it. "Shhhh!" She hissed suddenly almost glaring at him. She knew he wasn't talking very loud but there were people out there who were designated to listen to those who had loose lips. "Keep it low." THe thief looked around concerned before turning and leaning in a bit. "I'm going to find it, keep my share, and return the important selected items to the man who hired me. If I can find it that is." Now she was getting free with her own speech. Somewhere in the back of her mind she didn't mind spilling a bit of normally classified information to him. Of course she wouldn't know her employer or anything, gotta keep your contacts. She remained leaning on the table with her chin on her hand.

She shushed him, which caused a giggle from the red head. But he did keep quiet, waiting for her to explain. Find, keep, but also give some away? That seemed out of place to him. “Why doncha keep it all? Run away with it and live on the ocean breeze. Pick up a cute sidekick to roll with and just keep moving. That was the life, living on the wind. I’d do it again if I could.” He found himself rambling a bit, but he didn’t care. He was on top of the world right now. Everything was happy, everything was great, there were no bad people who might overhear their conversation. This was the time to be alive. He glanced at Emily's glass, gesturing for her to drink more of it. That stuff wasn't cheap after all.
"Because if I did it would make me a liar. I'm not a liar, thief I may be, but I'm not dishonest to those I give my word to." She spoke with determination. "A life on the sea? That's what you want?" She picked up her drink as he motioned to it and tipped it up a little licking her lips a little at the tangy taste. "That was my life. You'd always find me on the sea but I never actually had a sidekick. It was just me..." She drifted off a bit looking down at her drink. "And sidekicks aren't the best idea, cause that life is dangerous, too many ways to lose somebody. It gets lonely though...." She shifted slightly giving a half smile. "But I mean it's fun! All sorts of mysteries to solve out there in the world." She giggled softly. The work was fun, never knowing what was around the corner was disconcerting for some people but for Emily it was the highlight of life. You shouldn't know what was coming unless you had to. Surprises were best. As easygoing as the young woman was she also knew that you could have fun but you always had to be on your toes. Situations that involved human lives couldn't be taken lightly in any regard.

He watched her mouth as she spoke, the rhythmic moving as lips and tongue combined forces to form sounds into words into sentences with the express purpose of conveying an idea from one person to another. He almost forgot to pay attention enough to listen to her as he watched. Breaking out of his trance, he did catch most of what she said. At least he thought he did. “I dunno I guess I just like the idea of traveling around, flowing freely on the wild wind. I mean that’s exactly what I did for seven years. But then I came back here. Huh. I can’t quite remember why I did that.” Picking up his glass, he peered in it as if it would hold the answer. Evidently it did. “Oh yeah, I did it so I could find fun people like you and talk to you and stuff without having to leave and never see you again.” It sounded funny to him so he giggled, however Emily probably wouldn’t find the same humor in his phrase.
She looked him over curiously. "Seven years at sea and you came back? Not me, I left and was pretty much forbidden from returning." She smirked a little as the memory of the whole story surfaced in her mind. "I brought 'lost demons' into my village, searching for gold that wasn't theirs. But I had different intentions. Once I found the gold I returned the treasure to my chief. He took only part then banished me publicly in front of my entire village." She looked at him with fire and conviction. "He said that land was no place for wayward wolves who made deals with devils. So I took what I could, left, and never looked back." Personally she wasn't at all ashamed that she was banished. She made it on her own just as well as if she had stayed and become a part of the village council as her mother had wished. Her soul was far too rebellious for that, her spirit strong and loyal to her heart above all. "I refuse to be told how I am going to live my life and who all I can concern myself with."

“At sea? Nah most of my time was on land. Although I was on this boat this one time for a month or so…” he trailed off when Emily continued talking, turning his ears to at least attempt to listen to her more closely. She was banished? That was a sad thing. But at least she found what she was looking for. “You do sound like a rebel spirit,” he said with another giggle. “Do you think you’ll die doing what you love?” In Lasair’s mind, it was a perfectly normal question. But then again, Lasair’s mind was tainted with some liquor that wasn’t quite the norm. Either was he was enjoying the conversation quite a bit.
She laughed, "I sure as hell hope I die doing something I love! Going out any other way will be nothing but a disappointment." She tipped back the rest of her drink before brushing a stray strand of hair out of her face. Emily was always on the go, jumping excitedly into the next thing that came her way, and she wasn't one to wait for the world to catch up. Which my be the only reason she managed to cheat death so far. She stopped for a second and looked around like she was a little dazed before shaking her head slightly. "I want to die fighting for my right to discover hidden history just waiting for someone to find it. What about you?" She crossed her arms on the table and laid her head down looking out from under her dark bangs.

“I’d rather not die at all!” he answered, laughing a moment before he recomposed himself. “But honestly? I want a quiet death. Something peaceful and calm. Sure an exciting death sounds fun, but those are also sudden and it makes me feel like there could have been more accomplished, more completed if just a little bit more time had been there.” The thought was a bit somber, but he dismissed the sour feelings.
“Hey,” he continued. “After you’ve found the treasure and made your way back to land, see if you can find me again. I’ll trade you a piece of my own treasure for something you found. And I can promise you that my treasure is fit to have a map drawn for it.” He grinned again, rather pleased with himself. It wasn’t untrue. Someone could draw a map to the jewelry store.
She giggled. "I can understand not wanting to die, but still. I'd rather go out with a legacy to my name." She mused on silently about her upcoming hunt before turning her attention back to him. "Oh, I suppose I wouldn't mind swapping a bit. It's nice to have friends to share adventures with when you come home." She smiled, whatever he had to offer would be interesting, because he was such an interesting person! She would be delighted to share the treasure and the history behind it. Maybe that was just the drink talking though. "What about I draw a map for you one day? Of the city? I can make it as intricate as you like, or maybe like the one you found earlier! The blots in the sea for scribbles and only you will know how to read it!" She laughed excitedly at the idea of drawing another map, she enjoyed it very much actually. "What do you think?"
