Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
OPEN TO ALL (Happens before the Masquerade Ball) The Masquerade was just around the corner, and Amon was working on some costume ideas on the side. The Twins were doing their usual thing: Abe was sitting near the door, and Abby was dusting the place. Just a quiet, normal day.

Costumes were exciting things to make but for the life of Viktor he could not decide on what to go as. Rather than asserting himself with proper work, the red head dragged NK-5 along with him and made his way to the shop across from his own. "Amon," he shouted in greeting upon entrance in his usual manner. "Hey, did you hear about the masquerade? Got any ideas yet?"
"Good day, Amon. Good day, Cousins," came NK-5's voice afterwards. If the robot could sigh he would have. "I apologize for my gremlin brother and his disruptive manners."
The door opened, and a figure stepped in. Glancing at the dolls, he tilted his head, inspecting them ever so silently as he walked by, almost losing himself as he made his way to the other. He glanced between Amon and the twins, smiling as he stopped–close enough to speak, but not too close to disturb Amon. "No wonder you are the leader of the guild." Tilting his head toward the twins, Wern chuckled. "They're quite beautiful. And functioning." He laughed, but the sound was strained, nervous. Tucking his shaking hands into his pockets, he realized he needed one to shake the others hand. Fumbling, he removed a hand and held it out. "Ah. Sorry. My name is Wern. Am I right to presume you are Amon?"
When Viktor entered the room Wern was completely taken a back, pulling his hand away and stepping out of the way of the other, not wanting to impede perhaps another meeting that had been scheduled. He had simply walked in– which in hindsight was probably not the best plan ever.

Viktor had not been aware that another was already within the store when he had burst in. Amon would undoubtedly be cross with him but it was too little too late now. NK-5 bowed to the new face and stepped aside to join his cousin-dolls. "Oh, uh, sorry, Amon," Viktor quickly said as he lifted a gloved hand to rub the back of his neck. "Didn't see ya had business already." And with that, the red head nodded to the man as he stepped up and offered him his hand. "Nice to meet ya, mate. Name's Viktor, you are?"
Wern looked between NK-5 and Viktor, shoulders- once tense and raised, lowering as he calmed. "I'm Wern. Pleasant to make your acquaintance." He shook the others hand "And I wouldn't call it business, so, um, if you have something to discuss with him about, it probably is more important." No. It isn't. You need to get a job. You know. Something to pay the bills. And get food. Biting his lip, Wern put his hand back in his pocket- playing with something that lay inside. "Well, it is business related, but not in the sense that you're talking about and- Ah, sorry. I'm just a bit flustered." Pinching the bridge of his nose, Wern closed his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he tried to lower his racing heart. "Sorry. No sleep- makes me crazy. Continue. I'll just wait on the side." Glorious first impression, really. If Goya was here, he could just imagine what they would say, probably something along the lines of number one person not likely to get a job or to end up somewhere dead in an alley.

"Hello cousin," the Twins chimed in unison before turning to the newcomer.
Said newcomer was probably the 3rd most nervous individual Amon had seen. And...something business related...?
Oh.
"Uh, yes and yes Viktor. Hi Nikolai. And Wern, yes, I'm Amon, can I help you with something?" he replied, quickly responding to Viktor and Nikolai before returning to Wern.
Viktor can wait, this seemed important...regardless of what Wern was attempting to say.

"Hey, mate. Everything's all fine and dandy, no need to be nervous, ey?" Viktor withdrew his hand after the shake and then followed NK-5 to where he had settled in among the twins. "You go on ahead. I don't have any business with Amon that can't wait. Besides, I can see him any time since I'm only across the street. You're new." It was a simple fact. The mechanic may be lacking in certain fields, but he was not one to cut before another in matters of business--after all that was simply rude. "Hey, twins. How are you two doing?" NK-5 had taken to falling silent as of late.
Wern nodded to Viktor. “Uh, thank you. Sorry for the bother.” He smiled, waving softly as the other stepped away. As Amon addressed him, Wern sighed, straightening as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Hi. My apologies for my nervousness. Let’s just say my morning has not been the best.” To be honest, he couldn’t have called it a morning. He hadn’t slept at all, even though he had planned to get plenty. Goya at one point in the night had thought it was a great idea to fly about the new apartment to “make sure it was up to their standards.” Obviously, that didn’t go over well when they “accidentally” flew into the fire, then rolled out, nearly setting the house aflame as they tumbled about, asking “How do I drop and roll. I’m a ball. How the hell do I drop and roll.” Between putting the fire out, repairing Goya, then making a “quick” fireplace barrier, Wern had forgotten to sleep. This was something he regretted once the sun had come up, and even more so when Goya had decided to tell him how his father had actually never gone into Lodan. “So you are telling me that I have no word to my name, basically?” Wern nearly spilled his coffee as the bot rolled back and forth. “Nope. Azbanya means nothing here.” “Why didn’t for the love of all that is holy you tell me this before we moved here?” “I didn’t think it was important.” Correction, it was very important. As in, he couldn’t do his business otherwise without guild backing- which often meant having some sort of renown to at least get into a guild, as far as Wern knew. And being both new, and unknown in Lodan, meant the likelihood of success was already low to begin with. But he had to try anyway, didn’t he? How else was he going to survive? So, that was why he was in there today. He never did like asking for favors, or help, and now it seemed like he was going to ask for both. “Ah. Yes. Business.” Taking a deep breath, Wern closed his eyes to gather his bearings. Opening them, he stared intensely at the other as he took on an air of seriousness. “I would like to join your guild, if possible. If allowed, I promise to work hard, and to do anything in my power to help the guild flourish more so then it is already. ”

Amon observed the dolls converse among themselves before returning to Wern.
"Bad morning, huh? I think I can understand the feeling," Amon replied, giving the Twins a non-so-subtle glance.
"Hm...?" Abby perked up.
"What?" Abe demanded.
"Nothing," Amon sighed. "So, what type of shop were you planning on opening?"

Wern laughed at Amon’s gesture and the dolls reactions, easing ever so slightly into the conversation as he spoke. “Well, basically I want to open a shop that fronts as a repair shop, but also delves into creation and development. I design ornamental robotics, for any occasion really. It is hard to explain. I kind of want to think of it as a “if you can think it, and can afford it, I’ll make it” kind of shop, like this for example.” Trudging into his pocket, Wern pulled out a package wrapped in cloth. Unfolding the fabric, Wern showed the other a small trinket- a robotic dragonfly with a winding key on its back. “In my home town, a woman was having trouble putting her baby to sleep, so I made her this.” Winding up the toy, the silver dragonfly sprang to life, its wings fluttering as a lullaby ventured forth from its abdomen. The song continued, and as it chimed down, the dragonfly floated to the closest landing place- in this case, Wern’s hand- and came to a stop just as the music filtered out. “I plan to appeal to a wide audience, and to learn different crafts as I progress so my skill range can go into other areas as well.” Holding onto the dragonfly, he caressed the wiring ever so gently. “However, this is open to change if you see a problem with it sir.”
Back to Wern though, he was surprised: that was the second member to have brought an ornamental, clockwork insect as a type of resume (though much more advanced in comparison); should probably require that more often.
"I've got no problem with that at all," Amon replied. "Take a walk around the district and find a spot you like. Once you do, come on back and we can fill out the necessary paperwork."

Wern brightened, nodding quickly before wrapping the dragonfly back into the folds of the fabric. “Thank you sir. I shall. Or um, I can say that I already did? I’ve been trying to acclimate myself to the area, and so I’ve been exploring.” In truth “exploring” was just the term he used to get away from Goya. With the Queen’s mandate, Wern could no longer use the “I’m going to stretch my legs” excuse to escape the tiny orbs constant ramblings. He was subject to them every night- he need not suffer them during the day as well. “And I always pass a little dilapidated shop, down the block- it’s a little run down, but when I looked inside, it had some proper equipment in there for me to use. It needs a lot of work, but I don’t mind putting that effort in.” Plus, it had an upstairs- which he could convert into a work area and a temporary living quarters if he needed to stay the night. It was a cute place- a little ugly, but well, he could fix that. He enjoyed the thought of a challenge, and it was quaint. Not a bad location, and most of all, it reminded him of home.

"Hey, you need any help fixing up the place if Amon here lets you have it," called the mechanic as he tore his eyes away from the three dolls to glance back at the pair of men occupying the shop.
"Hurts more than helps," cut in NK-5. Viktor shot the clockwork soldier a glare before grinning at Wern. "Ah, don't mind him."
Amon shrugged. "If that's what you want, then you can have it," he said, taking out a binder, some keys, and some forms. After finding the right building and key, he filled in a few items on the form before handing it and the key over to the newest member.
"Just fill this out at and turn it in at your earliest convenience," he said. "Welcome to Mingo's."
