Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Fawna tilted her head and smiled. "Your welcome." She watched as he sat down and stared off into the sky. She started at his question and looked at him for a moment until her expression softened. With a sigh she lifted her wings enough not to drag the ground and sat down being him. Calling her sage feathers back into inked submission she sat and leaned her back up against his. "No....I don't. I don't think anyone could truly understand something that they didn't have. They can dream, all day long, but the can't understand." She reached a hand up to pull the hair tie from her braid and began to unravel it. He had asked a question she had been asking for years. After the strands of pastel green were normal again she dropped her hands in her lap. "Do you think they will ever trust us?"

Closing his emerald eyes he took in a deep breath and thought to himself silently about her answer and to follow her question. It was something he had wondered for a long time ever sense his childhood when he was learning about the world and wondered why his parents were so cautious about him being around others or doing anything related to his blood. Perhaps this is why he found this time with Fawna flying around to be quite exciting because of his little he was able to freely do it. Uriah didn't have to be looking at Fawn to perfectly picture how she would look sitting next to him but upon answering he would of rather look at her directly.
"It's as you say, they can dream but they don't understand. It's difficult to trust someone or somethin' you don't understand without being naive, and then you're missing a large part of what our plight is about. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to bring equality to our people.. As a teenager I started working hard to gain connections and learned more about the world we live in and wondered what our home was like.. I want to one day be in a position of social rank and power to meet with the queen personally to change things. Though for every hundred human acts of self hatred all it takes is one Ander act of the same type to push us back." Letting out a large sigh the man had a lot to say about the topic in general but would come close to an ending in a moment.
"I have this plan, I've been working on for a long time and especially since this curfew has come up I was thinkin' on moving those plans ahead forward.. Or more of manipulatin' the situation to come more favorably. I apologize, I talk a lot. I hope you have my answer though." The man nodded his head and wondered what Fawn thought about it, though she had a lot on her plate as it was he didn't believe she was in a position capable of helping him in what he wanted to obtain in his life and it was a little against his character to not completely want her help without giving something back.

Fawn felt him shift and turned to look at him. He elaborated further on her first statement, can't trust anything you don't understand. That was the solid truth. But what would it take for one person to just trust blindly? To take that leap of faith? As she listened she felt a new sense of companionship with him. He was bringing up precise ideas, with no restraint! She leaned forwards slightly in interest, a ghost of a smile on her face. It may seem a little silly to smile when he was being so serious but she just felt mesmerized. As he drew to a close she sat back for a moment thinking. She wanted to know more, lots more. "What do you want out of this quest for equality?" She questioned carefully. "Just to be able to walk through the street and not have to worry about hateful glares or freedom?" After a moment to see if he wanted to answer the questions she spoke up again. "I want to hear more."

Uriah looked at Fawn and kept his genuine expression of how he felt upon his face before leaning up slightly, resting on his elbows and starting to explain a little more with his hands while he spoke. Fawna asked very good questions in what he wanted from all this and he couldn't say he was the most noble about it when anyone who is an Ander wants equality for their kind and more importantly their own family. "What do I want?" He pondered the thought for awhile but it only took a moment for him to answer with what he thought. "I just want.. I just to live comfortably no matter the outcome." The man lightly brightly as he had no problem telling someone that there is something he specifically wanted out of something as a reason to do it.
"Our people... No everyone, no matter under what circumstance you're born want something for themselves even if their intentions seem to be the best only for others. Some part of them take satisfaction in knowing they're completeing what they want. Let's say if I were to succeed someone I am perfectly okay without anyone knowing my name or what I did if it meant I could be happy about it in the end. Live some place nice, and maybe one day have a family. Who knows?" He went on a little further and thought about what the world would be like if it was able to change in such a fashion.
"Approaching the process however is a very difficult task... Like I said if I could speak to the Queen directly without being lynched on the way their for people knowing what I was then I would wonder her opinion.. Though honestly if she hasn't done anything about it then it's unlikely she will without a large amount of persuasion. I really do not wish for other Ander's to suffer for what I want or might do which is why I had prepared.. Never mind." The man stopped his thought mid-sentence because there was no reason to inform Fawna of something he would most likely just do alone.
Fawna considered his first wish and her eyes flickered down towards the roof they were sitting on. To live in comfort usually meant giving up some other aspect in your life. It was very....rare to find ways to keep all your values and find a way to live life in comfort and unity. "You would sacrifice fame for contentment. Noble intention." She mused. "Earning something that you don't have will always be a difficult task. Fighting for something that you don't have is even harder." Fawn was at the cafe everyday fighting for her place in the staff. A few knew for a fact who she was, not what. And they respected her for it, one of them actually being human. She wanted to be able to show people who she was rather than them sit there and tell her who they thought she was based on opinion and things that their patents passed down to them about her race. "What do you have planned?" She asked jerking out of her thoughts. He just abruptly cut off with a nevermind. She genuinely was interested and wholeheartedly ready to hear any idea. Any half-formed thought that could give her even more of a reason to keep believing that there was someone out there who wanted to fight the same fight.

Uriah was obviously stuck thinking to himself but the fact that Fawna was so interested reassured him that there was someone out there who would be willing to listen to his opinion. Enough that he decided to speak a little further about his plan and how he intended on completing it. "Well... I have a small handful of idea's which was to publicly come out but most outcomes in my head end up with myself dead or arrested or a civil war to be ignited among our town. Given how repressed we are an uprising is a poor idea for the economy and will cause pointless tragedy for others who aren't even involved..." Taking a moment he took in a deep breath before continuing.
"My second thought.. Which was my most go to idea involves the queen yet again. I can magically get myself into the building... I thought about it for awhile and learning guard patterns in this time isn't that difficult and before you know it I could make it through the garden but without knowin' the lay out of the building, it doesn't matter if I can phase through walls. I need to be able to get to her and have her listen but I'm sure you can assume how stubborn royalty might be." Letting out a sigh the man rubbed his head, it was a handful of difficult plans among many that he had and multiple situations but which ones were the best? He figured it was the ones that didn't involve hurting other people.
"Then comes in troubles of letting them see my phase.. I assume trespassin' is met with high consequences on royal guards, then the use of magic. Then the thought came in of incapacitatin' the guards and hold the queen hostage and try to speed with her but well... You know." Shaking his head the man figured he had gone on to much about the situation enough and all of them were really difficult to pull off, being born an Ander in this world was nothing less than a tragedy at this time.
Fawn arched an eyebrow inquisitively. She was trying to think about further outcomes that might be able to avoid such routes. His plans were not bad entirely, they had plenty of logic as a foundation. Ok, then maybe they weren't all good plans. Magically breaking into the palace was not anywhere near being a good idea. "If I didn't know any better I'd daresay that the Queen herself was of Andersweltler blood. But since I do know much better I throw that notion to the wind." Her voice was laced with sarcasm but she really couldn't muster much dislike against the Queen. Sure she wasn't really ever into half the things that happened in the city but who could blame her. Foreign affairs must be a tiresome task. "Anyways do you have any ideas that don't end in death or arrest?" Fawn took a deep breath before switching into strategy mode. "There are a few obvious flaws in the plans but maybe with a little tweaking one could manage to get out alive." She leaned forwards to place her head in her hands and ran her fingers through her hair down the back of her neck leaving her palms resting about her shoulders. "This is a problem that might not need as much force as it seems. I don't think a civil war would be ignited as easily as some would believe. No one wants that and I'm fairly sure plenty would do anything to keep that from happening again." The woman was imagining the human relations she had witnessed between man and Ander. A group of the right people could get anything done. The only problem was everyone wanted to play hero. Pride goeth before a fall. It was never going to be as simple as asking someone to merely stand and watch. The girl shifted in her place and pulled her knees up to her chest. So muc to think about and so little ways of making a decent answer.
Uriah chuckled and shook his head towards the notion that the queen could of possibly been an Ander though to be fair she most likely wouldn't have any reason to remember she was an Ander when you could live a life such as that. Though it seemed as though some of his idea's were rather worrisome in execution and in overall principle but he listened to her words closely, after all they were just randomly talking about something like this one someones roof somewhere in town.
"As I said those born in this time is a tragedy so it's on befittin' that a tragic end is always considered." Leaning up completely the man began to untie his clothes from his waist and slowly start to put them on while he continued the conversation further with his opinions. "I would prefer to know the worst possibility and be thankful that it didn't end up like that, so I apologize if it seems like a negative end is always around the corner." Turning his head to face her directly the man smiled softly and thought that maybe it was to early and the city was perhaps not ready for such a thing yet. Fate has a weird way of bringing up important matters over time be it for better or for worse.
"You are correct that perhaps a civil war would be a very difficult outcome.. Mainly because people don't know who you are and well.. In this scenario let's say someone like me comes out to a public crowd and displays my wings what do you think will come of it? Would I make it out unscathed? Perhaps I might survive the encounter and that night I am cooked alive by an 'accidental' fire.. Perhaps I would be stoned and the first was thrown by one of our kind... Even if one could find a mostly Ander community I believe it would be difficult to rally them to a cause because of what's at stake and to tell you the truth.. I'm not to sure I would, in this situation want to become a martyr for our people to gain a better footing in society." Letting out a sigh it seemed the man was beginning to grow a little frustrated of his own conversation topic, visibly thinking as his eyes moved on different scenario's and how they could possibly play out before ending it on a single last sentence. "People won't change their opinion less the subject in question has value to them."

"Such a Debbie downer." Fawn smirked. She listened resting her head on her folded arms. "I'd do it. In a heartbeat." She said looking off into the clouds. "I'd spread my wings and take off any day. Burn me, stone me, kill me I don't care how." Fawn turned to look at him, a determined glare in her eyes. "If one stand for our kind means anything to anyone it's worth it." Fawn was not afraid of much. The only thing that scared her is what would the people who depended on her do if she were gone. But she still continued to fight and let anyone willing to listen just for a second know what she was willing to do. Some said she was too ready to die while others accepted her loyalty to what she held close. She spoke the spell and let her wings stretch out behind her. Partially to prove her point and because she wanted to stretch them one more time before they left. Looking over slightly she extended a wing to playfully and softly slap him with the feathers. She then folded it back to see his reaction.

Uriah thought silent to himself as a mild frown appeared upon his face from hearing that she would be willing to do such a thing in a heartbeat, his gaze starring into her determination in slight envy. Living and counting on ones own self was something he had always believed in and in this world of selfish individuals there seemed to be a small handful of shining ones that he would he could consider himself among. The man seemed to be lost in thought even if his eyes looked directly at the person who was moving around before he received a startling slap on his which viably caused him to jump. "Hey now!" He smirked and leaned forward giving the girl a gentle push in return.
"I apologize for bringing this all up. A dream is a dream and maybe someday I can do something about it." The man chuckled and smiled brightly to the thought before standing up and looking up towards the clouds. "For the record, it would be worth it something to me." After saying that he figured maybe now was a time to be a little more light hearted and just relax even further. "It's a beautiful sky today."
Fawna giggled a bit to herself. He jumped. She rocked back from the push and and put an arm behind herself for balance. "Oh don't apologize for it. It's actually nice to be able to talk freely about such things for once." Standing the woman stretched her arms out behind her and arched her back. "It is isn't it." She agreed walking up next to him and gazing out. She fanned her wings and wrapped them forwards around herself. They made a delightful feathery blanket. She was reluctant to put them away again. "How often do you get to see it from a rooftop?" She looked out of the little bit of city she could see from the rather short rooftop. If you wanted to see something from a great height you had to go to the top of the city's clock tower. The ledges were nice to sit on.

Uriah smiled as it seemed Fawna was enjoying her wings wrapped around her and just overall being closer to them than having it sealed away. "I can't say I have very often, my apartment is on a second and I don't often travel to the roof." The man chuckled and shook his head before thinking about it. "I don't even have to ask to know that you most likely enjoy them on a regular basis.. Though that's a rooftop to enjoy the sky when you can dance so gracefully among it?"
"Psh, you haven't lived enough yet." She chuckled. "But I don't always have to opportunity to go flying. I like to sit on the roof if I have a cold or such and can't leave the house, or when it starts to snow. Get some hot chocolate and a blanket and sit." She looked off into the sky for a bit more before turning to him. "What all is there to do on the ground that's fun?" Fawn, obviously, didn't go out much to find activities in the city. She was usually above it or outside of it. The options that resided within the bounds of Lodan might be more of his specialty. "If you feel like sticking around, I'm not trying to make you stay longer than you wish." She assured smiling. She unfolded her wings and sealed them away before walking a few steps away to pick up the vest she had left on the rooftop. She slipped it on pulled her hair out from under the collar. While doing so she cast a glance over at the edge. It would be a delight watching him try to get down.

Gasped as he raised his hand up over his mouth toward her question. "What all is there to do on the ground that's fun?", Uriah almost felt his heart break before he began to speak out to her. "You don't know the joys of theater or socializin' among the people? Now I'm thinking you might of been caged during your youth. Sometime you must come over and allow me teach you an instrument." The man chuckled his towards Fawn before talking next to her and looking down, trying to remember how exactly he got up here and now how was he supposed to get down? "If I had any other plans I would of informed you about them, but perhaps if you're interested we can just watch the stars paint the sky before sneakin' past those annoyin' curfew watchers." He suggested a thought wondering what she would of thought. Even if there was no spectacular activity going about at the very least they could spend the time together till it got a little to late for the both of them.
Fawn took a step back towards the edge of the rooftop looking over. "Well...no. Not exactly. I don't socialize much. At least in the sense you might be referring to." Fawn was not of any relative upper class so not many wanted to, in fancier terms, socialize with her. Anyone in her class didn't consider socializing to be a stupendous thing. Most of them just called it chatting. Or going to gossip as the old wives said. "Is socializing anything different from just a decent chat with someone?" She asked teasingly looking back up and at him. "And I believe that watching the sun go down is a good idea. Any peculiar place you would like to watch from or is this old roof good enough for you?"
