Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

“I do try to be. If you’d like to get used to it, then we just might need to see each other again after tonight.” They began walking at a casual pace towards the district; there was no rush after all. “Smoke? Usually no, but what kind of special stuff do you have in mind? Never liked the taste of tobacco but I don’t mind if you go ahead with it. If ya got something else I might like a puff.” His answer sort of fell out in a ramble, but he didn’t notice. It was one of those side effects from the alcohol, just like the sway in his steps.

"I thought that was the plan already. To see each other again that is--unless you find me boring after tonight in which case that's okay." He gave a slight shrug and laughed. "Nah, not tobacco. I don't care so much for that. It goes by several names, really, but Marijuana I guess is the official name. Gets you high. I'd say if we head over to the clock tower, it'd be the best place to try it. Are you afraid of heights?"

“I don’t think boring would be the right word to describe you. More like…fun. Pretty. Charming. Amazing.” He stopped himself from rambling this time; otherwise the fella might actually think he was in love or something. “Clocktower? I can’t exactly go inside, unless you want to risk all the gears and stuff falling down on ya. But yeah I could go for a trip to the sky.” It’d been a long time since he’d had the stuff; would probably cough up a lung or something, but it’d be worth it for the fun trip.

"Pretty? Pretty!" The word had insulted his very man hood. "Charming I will except, but I am anything but pretty, Lasair. As for the clock, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Thing's been dead since the civil war so it don't work. Nothing to fall down on you. Wait, are you a winged ander?" He shot a glance at Lasair to try and see if his eyes glowed. Nope, he wasn't a feline Ander. "Or are you a general?" As they continued down the street, Viktor scanned the area lazily out of paranoia since he didn't have NK-5 with him in case something terrible happened but do to the drinks in him, he occasionally bumped into Lasair. "Sorry," he said each time.

He chuckled at the man’s response to being called pretty. “You’re right. Handsome, maybe even rugged, would be a better way to describe your look.” A grin coated his face, despite not being completely visible in the dark. A broken clocktower? He hadn’t known about that. “I’m black-blooded yes, and I’d really like to see this clocktower then. Heights aren’t a problem so long as I got something solid under me.” All the bumping into each other didn’t even bother the ander. They were connected at the arm so it was bound to happen anyhow.

"Handsome, I like that. Ooh, rugged, even better," he chuckled as they continued on toward the district. With a sly grin at Lasair's last words, Viktor replied, "I could be something solid under you." There was a wiggle of his brows but then he snorted and waved dismissively with his free hand. "I tease, I tease. Nah, I'll make sure you won't fall. Promise. Hey, look," he gestured in front of them as the lights of the theatre district began to come into view over some of the smaller buildings. They were getting closer at least but still had a ways to go. At least now there were more people on the streets which meant less likely someone would try to shank them.

His smile faltered for a moment at the mention of him being under Lasair, but when he looked forward, he recovered and saw no reason to discontinue the fun. “I think I like the sound of being on top of the world,” he cooed for a moment before trying to straighten himself out some to walk into the crowd. He smiled at faces as they passed and didn’t mind the odd glance here or there. Viktor and he both had ginger hair, some metal on their face, and were the same height. The could maybe pass off as siblings if any of the anti-gay police showed up. But it was the theater district; anything goes here. “How far away is this clocktower?” he asked after a little while.
Post by Viktor Croswell on Aug 10, 2015 7:42:50 GMT
"Hey, I really am sorry if that was too far," Viktor stated in regards to his earlier comment. He'd seen the slight falter as they'd begun merging into the crowd but couldn't say anything then. Now that they were properly coming upon the theatre district everything was well lit and conversations were happening all about them. "The clock tower?" He paused and looked around then grinned as he withdrew his arm from Lasair's to stand behind the other red head. Gently placing his hands on either side of Lasair, he turns him to face the clock tower which loomed over the city just some ways outside of the theatre district. "Not too far of a walk, which is nice. You want to see about picking up something to eat before we head over? Let me tell you, sometimes smokin' that shite makes you a bit hungry."

Too far? He waved a hand to that comment. “Don’t even worry about it,” he grinned. But her expression changed as Viktor took his arm back. The confusion faded to relief as he felt the hands at his side, turning to look in the direction he was being pointed to. “Oh, that clocktower.” Which was shortly followed by a bit of laughter. Somehow he had failed to notice it during the walk. He swayed slightly as he looked up at the grand building, despite the support behind him, which made no motion to move. Not that he wanted him to move. “Food sounds good; I’ll buy. What did you have in mind?” He glanced at Viktor over his shoulder. Seeing as the mechanic had insisted on paying for some of the drinks at the bar, Lasair wanted to pay for the food before he could object.

"Heh, don't worry. Since it's broken nothing ever illuminates it so it's hard to see against the sky sometimes, unless there are a lot of stars which is almost never, and when the moon's out in full." Stepping to Lasair's side, he loops an arm about his shoulders and guides him toward one of the many pastry shops located on the strip of the Theatre district. "You know, I really hope we do have another outing because then I can at least pay you back--next outing I am paying for it. Can't just let you get everything tonight." As they entered the shop, a tinkle of the bell notified the shop keeper of the duo entering. "Hello, gents, what can I get for you?" In the windows of the counter, a variety of various pastries and sweets from many different cultures decorated plates or sat in boxes. "Well, I don't have much of a sweet tooth so I'll stick to the pastries," he replied and pointed to several then looked to Lasair. "What do you want?"

He listened as Viktor explained the tower and about a future date, smiling all the while. “Perhaps our next outing can be under a full moon. I can only try to imagine what it would be like sitting up there, seeing it without all the crowed streetlights. Not to mention seeing it with you way up there. I don’t think my imagination does it justice.” His reply continued as they entered the shop, but was then cut off by the shopkeeper. “I think I wanna save my sweet tooth for something later in the night so I’ll stick to the same,” he chuckled, finding what he said funny in this moment.
Post by Viktor Croswell on Aug 11, 2015 3:24:28 GMT
"Imagination's always one thing. The real thing is another. We can do that if you'd like. A full moon shouldn't be too far off from now, I don't think." The woman behind the glass counter finished packing their pastries into a neat little box then set it over and waited for payment. Although Lasair said he would pay it didn't stop Viktor from digging into his pocket to offer extra as gratuity. Snatching up the box and shifting it to one hand, he then reaches for Lasair's hand in an attempt to drag the other outside and for the clocktower. "Come on, come on before someone else gets the good spot."

He pulled out the money for the snacks, glancing sideways as Viktor insisting on paying something. “Then our next meeting shouldn’t be too far off,” he said as he gave the money to the lady before being pulled away. He allowed Viktor to tug him along a moment before picking up the pace and catching up. “You sound excited.” It came out a bit slurred, but that was okay. If he were honest with himself, he was a bit excited too.
Post by Viktor Croswell on Aug 11, 2015 4:00:35 GMT
"Of course I'm excited. I'm usually the one payin' for girls or somethin'. It's nice to be treated--but it's also a real nice sight up there and I haven't seen it in a year. You've never really been up there?" That still boggled his mind but it made sense to him. After all, Lasair did say he was ander and Viktor had heard that as of late things were getting worse for them. That thought made him frown and he withdrew his hand from the other's so he could slip an arm around him for more protective reasons. As they made their way out of the theatre district the crowds began to thin once more and the lights were less making things darker. "I hate these streets sometimes," he muttered as the base of the clock tower slowly began to make itself visible. "Hey, Lasair, what's it like using magic?" The clock tower was enormous and dark. Outside it almost looked intimidating and certainly not hospitable. "Uh, I hope you don't mind it being dark? I forgot to mention since it's broken there isn't really anything to make it look less haunted--not that it is."

“Nope never been,” he affirmed. His mind registered confusion for a few moments when Viktor moved his arm around the ander, but he actually kind of liked it. It was more relaxed than the hand holding, so Lasair slid his arm around the mechanic. They continued along in silence for a moment, approaching the clocktower as the atmosphere shifted back to being eerie and dark. “Got something flammable?” he asked after Viktor mentioned not liking the dark. Hopefully he wasn’t too drunk to realize Lasair meant something like paper and not the stuff they were heading up high to enjoy. As for the question about using magic, he’d address it after bringing some light to the darkness.
