Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Stephen looked over and flashed Amon a rare smile, "Me? I am simply marvelous. The shrimp rolls and sirloin are pretty good here, excellent choice." He chuckled once more then let his amused grin fade into a small, pleased smile. "Do you have any grand plans after dinner," he inquired to Amon.
Ms. Wilons nodded and scribbled down the order. She turned to the EIRALs with a smile, "And what'll you two officers be 'aving tonight?"
Stephen managed to get over his little fit of laughter and turned to look at Ikuze, polity waiting for her to order. Her final verdict was for him to decide, which usually mean that she could not decide on one thing or she was unable to decipher what the items on the menu were. Either way, he would try his best to choose an appealing dish for them both. "Well, I hope you like fish then. We will be having the poached wild salmon with a side of lentils as our main course. Your Isle of Wight tomato salad would be a nice appetizer," he paused and looked over the menu thoughtfully then closed it, "and a pot of La Vie en Rose tea, if you would be so kind." Mrs. Wilons nodded and wrote the order down then looked to the other couples for their's. A waitress came up then and deposited a glass of water to each guest. Stephen took a sip of his as he looked over to Ikuze once again, "How was that? Anything in the order you object to?"
"Sounds lovely." she said until the waitress was out of earshot. "I think I recognised one or three words on the entire menu..." the thief turned noble quietly bemoaned. "Why would you put clothes on a crab?" she asked quietly, recalling the dressed crab option in the menu. She rubbed her forehead a little. "Still haven't got the hang of this... I've got the cutlery down pat, but... food? Still in the mindset of if you can get food, you don't care about the name of it, you just eat it." Ikuze said before she took a drink of her water.

Stephen could not hide his next laugh. He turned to Ikuze and quirked an eyebrow at her, an amused smirk lighting his features, "Put clothes on a crab? Do you mean to dress a crab?" He chuckled then proceeded to explain, "That does not mean the crab is literally dressed in clothing. It is a method of cooking in which I believe the crab is cooked then placed back inside the empty shell for decor. A bit odd if you ask me. You have to break into the shell again to get your actual food but for the prim and proper nobility I guess it is a fun little challenge." He shook his head and laughed once more, muttering about crabs in dresses under his breath.
"I...well...not really," Amon replied to Stephen, feeling the weight of the present in his pouch, reminding him of his own nervousness. "Just gonna play it by ear I guess..." he continued with a shrug.
All he had to do was somehow survive the rest of the dinner and the evening...which suddenly became more difficult than he anticipated. Just gotta play it cool, be yourself, and give her the present. Simple.
Thus he sat, quietly awaiting Edel's return, lost in his own thoughts.

Recovering from the whole tripping incident, Gladys reminded quiet, red but quiet, as she was ushered to a table and sat down. She practically hid behind her menu as the other couples chatted lightly, too embarrassed to even look at the man who had came in with her.
When she was asked for her order, the color drained from her face (which effectively left it to be a normal color, oddly enough) as she realized she had no idea what she’d want to eat. Her eyes darted to a random spot on the menu and she said that name, “Dressed crab please.” Sadly she had to release her paper shield then, leaving her to actually face both the other couples and the man sitting with her.

Artorigus looked over the menu carefully as he considered the options laid out before him. "I'll have the seafood salad to start with, to share with the lady, followed by the Rose County beef fillet. To wash it down, I think I'll have... hmm, since we're likely to find ourselves with work later, probably best to have the iced tea as opposed to the wine..." he ordered, handing the menu to Mrs Wilon. He looked to his companion for the evening and noticed that she was perhaps not doing so well. If this were a date then he'd probably reach over to her to try and comfort her, but he wasn't certain how Gladys would handle it at this moment in time... least not in her current state of mind.
Instead he decided to try and help ease her tension a little by deflecting attention from herself to him. He looked to the man with the mechanical arm and offered his own hand since their tables were close enough for such. "Afraid we didn't get a proper introduction sir. Artorigus Pendrake, just arrived in Lodan not too long ago." he introduced himself, deliberately leaving out the part about being the son of a Duke from the northern territories... last thing he felt was needed was to make his dinner partner even more flustered... that and perhaps cause a slight rammy with attention... and plus if the man didn't know his position, then he wouldn't charge him extravagently later on.
"Hm...?" Amon mumbled, being shaken out of his thoughts. "Oh. Amon," he replied, giving the man a small wave with his mechanical arm, completing the introduction ritual.
"And welcome to the city. Hope you enjoy your stay."
It had been a while since Amon was so tight-lipped to people in general...but considering the guy sorta brought the reason why his date was in the bathroom, he's earned the cold shoulder treatment. That, and despite being EIRAL's main supplier, he didn't really enjoy being around them...for a number of historical reasons.

Ikuze gave the most exaggerated pout she possibly could towards Stephen. "Hey, don't be mean. Not my fault I know sod about this gourmet stuff." she said almost childishly. "The menu said dressed crab... how was I to know that meant keeping the shell on... I thought the shell was on to start with." the thief explained, tracing her finger along the table cloth.

Ms. Wilons scribbled down the orders and hurried to the kitchen after saying, "I'll have your drinks and appetizers out in just a moment."
The noble nodded to Amon, silently wishing him luck before turning back to Ikuze. He shook his head and waved his hand dismissively at her complaint. "It is fine, Ikuze. I do not expect you to be an expert in everything. We all make mistakes or misunderstand topics every once and a while. Just allow me the luxury to be amused by it, as I will allow you to laugh when I mess up. Life would certainly be boring if we both were perfect," he mused. "So no need to pout- I would rather see you smile. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I shall answer them to the best of my knowledge," he finished a small smile.
Stephen was in an exceedingly good mood it seemed so he turned to the EIRALs next to him, deciding he would chat with them. He turned to Artorigus Pendrake with all the polite charm he could muster, "Pardon my intrusion, I heard your name and I believe we have not met before either. My name is Stephen Leland. I rarely see the Ebony and Ivory Army out and about off duty so it would be nice to get to know some of our Queen's finest men and women." Yes, this was laying it on quite thick in his case but it never hurt to know about the EIRALs. After all, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Artorigus nodded at the eyepatched man. "I would be highly surprised if we had met before given I only just got into Lodan but recently." he chuckled. "Leland did you say? I think I recall hearing that name before my coming here... if memory serves your family comes from outside of Lodan as well does it not? Curious city isn't it?" the nobleman asked of his supposed counterpart. "And in all honesty between us," he said, leaning in close to Stephen for some modicum of privacy, "I'd heard some disturbing things concerning the Army of late, in particular the higher echelons... As one "foreigner" to another, what do you make of it all? On my honour as a Pendrake I vow to not say a word." swore Artorigus. The rumours he'd heard concerning the former commander and the current one had somewhat disturbed him... especially since they only came to light following his induction to the EIRAL's ranks.
After Stephen chose to speak, or not as was his perogarative, the duke's sons manners kicked in once more. "Ah, but I'm forgetting myself. Your ladyship looks quite lovely this evening. Not that it's my business of course but are the two of you..." he trailed off, something coming to mind. "...I did recall hearing the Leland name one other time... I trust this is some form of commiserations for that particular event?" he asked, now becoming aware of his own guest for the evening.
As everyone else chatted, Gladys merely sat there as she pretended not to exist and sincerely hope that it would become a reality.

Well, Mr. Pendrake certainly had good manners. If he knew the Leland name then he must be of higher standings. Pendrake sounded a bit familiar, he just could not figure out where he had heard the name. "You are correct, I am not originally from Lodan- Brisol actually." He took a moment to respond to his question, thinking over his response. Of course the commander Skye's incarceration was suspicious. The man was not the killer, anyone taken by Jack knew that. Commander Skye could have been pulling the strings but that was doubtful. "You must be inquiring about the events concering EIRAL's recent change in leadership. Commander Skye's imprisonment seems most unfitting to me; I doubt he had anything to do with that serial killer. Maybe the reasons for framing Skye are not as pure as they appear to be," he responded quietly, honesty ringing in his voice. Stephen did not know Commander Skye all that well but he knew more of him than the new commander in charge so it would be preferable to have the ex-commander back in charge.
After that business was taken care of, he addressed the next question, "This is Miss Rikuzeyah Storm, but please call her Ikuze. You are mistaken in thinking that I do this as some for or reconciliation. May I ask the name of your guest as well? I do not recognize her and it would be rude to leave her out of the conversation." Yes, he used Ikze's full name to annoy her. Yes, he would probably pay dearly for it but it was worth it.

Quite a lot could happn in the course of a few minutes, or at least that was the impression Edelweiss had while she made her way back from the restroom. It seemed like she had returned right on time to hear Stephen turning suicidal and incentiving Ikuze to murder him; one could only question why.
"Did I take too long?" She asked Amon, retaking a seat at the same table she had been sharing with him before, and mentally sending non-murderous vibes to Ikuze so that she wouldn't physically harm her second-in-command. Embarrass? Maybe, yes, that might be amusing. Physical harm, please no.

"Oh, not at all," Amon responded with a smile. "Got all the tea out? Though I hear that in certain places, using such herbs is good for your hair..." he joked (or at least tried to joke).
"You didn't miss much. I should've gotten your order correct. Hasn't come out yet though."

"Still, I'm already a redhead, so starting to smell like a leprechaun wouldn't be very promising." Edelweiss responded to Amon's teasing that the 'herbal bath' she took might be good for her hair, but the joke did get a good-natured chuckle from her.
"I didn't miss much except for Stephen randomly incentiving his date to kill him..." She then whispered.
