Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"What? I eat normal food too, you know." She chuckled.
"I do have quite a sweet tooth (guilty as charged), but sweet pastries for actual meals wouldn't keep me on my feet for long... Although I have to admit I'm impressed on how you seem to go about your business without a little sugar boost." But then again, Amon didn't spend part of his working hours dashing over rooftops and otherwise odd passageways, chasing targets from the shadows in the middle of night. That was bound to be at least slightly more tiresome than pulling all-nighters working on automatons.
Still, the redhead held the feeling the two of them shared the same humongous amount of patience, effort and energy to keep the overgrown kids that were their respective guild members under control.
"Hey, I need a little sugar boost from time to time too," Amon replied with a smile. "Just...not as much as you..."
"Speaking of, how're the other...entertainers? They at least behaving?" he continued, trying to keep the conversation going, as well as trying to think of a time/way to give Edel the present.

She was caught off guard by the whistle, tripping a little in her step. And she had just stopped blushing too, but that was gone. When they got to the docks, she led them to the restaurant she had in mind. “It’s right over here,” she explained, walking toward the building. “The Wilsons, they’re quite popular I’ve heard.” She smiled a little bit at they approached.
The Duke's son nodded as they arrived, and he proceeded to hold the door open for her. "After you." he said politely, before following in after her. "Wow, you weren't kidding. Looks quite busy tonight..." said Artorigus before he caught the attention of one of the waitresses. "Table for two please." he asked, proceeding to wait as they prepared for them a table. "Quite a varied lot in here..." he said quietly to Gladys, taking note of the nobility, the merchants, and other walks of life.

"They behave in my presence at least, that must be said." She replied with a smile that was both amused and a little troubled. Then leaned over a bit to whisper:
"Though I worry some for the times when I get absent for a while. So far as I've noticed they like to tease Stephen over there and test his patience. I feel a little bad for it sometimes."
She then shrugged slightly and retook a straighter position on her seat. "It's the odds of the work, I guess. Have to accept it all in, both the good and the bad... Do your own workers give you as much worry as mine do to me, as I'm guessing lately?"

Amon stared into space for a second, trying to come up with the best way to answer that question while reflecting on the various members of Mingo's.
"They're angels..." he replied with a sad smile, shaking his head. "Fallen angels, but angels nonetheless." Well, at least he wasn't the only one having difficulties reigning in the members of their guild.
"Well...I'm about ready to order. How about you?"

Fallen angels. She guessed that was close enough to a 'yes' from him, and just smiled. The question about ordering their food was quite easy to respond to too. "Yes, I think I am." Just had to call a waitress or waiter over now.

“Yeah, they draw quite the crowd here.” She looked around at all the faces, feeling her insides rather aflutter from being here with this man. She took a step forward to get a better view at something, when she suddenly collided with a waitress, who was holding a handful of drinks, iced tea to be exact, and as Gladys tripped into her, the tea went flying. It found the landing on a certain red head who happened to lead one of the largest guilds.

As per reflex, the redhead found herself leaning over at the table and escaped having a porcelain teacup (a reasonably expensive-looking one at that) getting smashed against her head as flying, flying away it went off its tray and unto the floor. But the contents in the cup spilled midway, and though Edelweiss escaped the porcelain she still received a free splash of iced tea all over her head. Her clothes escaped for the most part, not counting a couple drops, but her red hair was now drenched and the tea was dripping on and from her face. Closing her eyes quickly to avoid the herbal liquid getting to them, she fetched a napkin to wipe her face some, then turned to look at what had caused that confusion. Her sight found a waitress embarrassed beyond belief, and a woman downing an EIRAL uniform.
Of course, it had to be an EIRAL. Oh well, she supposed it could be worse - at least it was iced tea, not a lot of freshly brewed hot tea instead. And there were no china cuts on her whatsoever. Edelweiss took a deep breath and stood up. "I believe," She gestured from Gladys to the waitress, the flipped tray, and the shards of porcelain and glass that now rested on the wet floor, an even yet not humorous tone in her voice. "you now owe a drink to this woman for her troubles. As well as 4 tea drinks and its respective china cups' value to the estabilishment."
"I have to take a trip to the washroom." She told Amon, pretty sure she'd not have to explain to him why she felt the need to wash the tea off her hair. "But will be back in a few minutes. Do you mind ordering for me while I'm there? Some shrimp rolls, a portion of cauliflower cheese and one of these tomato and olive tarts. ....Hmm and a cup of iced tea. This actually smells pretty good."

Artorigus winced as he watched the events unfold as they did. Before Gladys could be further reprimanded or take action herself, he pulled out his wallet. "I'll handle it don't worry." he said to the fellow EIRAL. To the red-head he called over, "My apologies miss. As recompense, allow me to foot the bill for your order this evening... if your escort for the evening would of course allow it. I do not wish to intrude." Might as well get some use out of his allowance... plus, it wouldn't hurt to improve the EIRAL image a little in the process. They were meant to be soldiers and peacekeepers... but that didn't have to mean that they had to be unsociable or non-approachable.
Amon barely had time to react before it was all over. He just saw china flying and Edel making a magnificent dodge, though getting wet in the process.
"You okay?" Amon asked, concerned for her well-being. When he saw she was fine (albeit, again, wet), he couldn't help but smile a little. "Very nice dodge there. Yeah, I can take care of your order," he replied, before turning his attention to the two EIRAL soldiers.
"It's fine, I can still foot the bill," he replied with a dry tone. "Besides, you guys are paying me in other ways already..." he continued as he got up to dry Edel's chair and pick up some of the larger fragments with his mechanical hand.

Stephen scoffed, "Like I would keep that trashy instrument. It is in the garbage where it belongs." As he said this he avoided eye contact, frowning a bit to himself, "And at best I think we would have tied had our little duel continued." What happened next surprised the noble. Edel was suddenly doused in ice tea. Stephen turned to see who had caused the accident and spotted an EIRAL, who looked absolutely devastated. The noble picked up his napkin and pretend to cough into it, though he was really fighting back the need to laugh. Edel's stone face and the EIRAL woman's horror was just too comical to him.
Mrs. Wilons rushed onto the scene in a flurry. "Oh dear! Oh my! I'll have this cleaned up right away." She snapped at the dumbfounded waitress and pointed at the mess on the floor. The girl quickly ran to clean it up. "My apologize! Delilah should have been more careful. Here- sit down right there and worry not. I do sincerely apologize again," Mrs. Wilons ushered the two EIRALs to a table next to Ikuze and Stephen. The noble snickered into the napkin staring at the floor next to him. The owner of the restaurant turned to look at the group, "I can take your orders now. Do not worry about the bill for any of your meals, it shall be taken care of. What can I get for you?"
Ikuze sighed and shook her head. "Could have at least kept the parts that were intact, like the strings and tuners." she said before patting his cheek gently with a smirk on her face. "Musically we would have tied probably... but audience? Come on, who'd you rather see win in a duel in the streets? The underdog street girl, or the eyepatched noble? Crowd always loves an underdog." the thief said before blinking at the events that unfolded. Whilst Stephen was hiding his snickering, the blue haired girl felt no such compulsion and chuckled away. "Hey, with the way the ladies of court are going, who knows Edel? You could be starting a trend right here." she grinned playfully before realising that they had to actually order food now. "Err..." said Ikuze before she looked back at the menu, going a bit cross-eyed at all the fancy names on the list.
I know some of these words... I think... she thought to herself as she bit her lower lip. The thief desperately read through the menu, trying to find something, anything at all that she recognised as being something edible! But nothing... she could recognise none of these names, hell, some of them confused her even more so. Why would you dress a crab? Who puts clothes on crabs? The blue haired girl lowered her menu a little as she looked over at Stephen, clearly distressed and confused. "I'll... have whatever he's having." she said finally, leaving the decision and fate completely in Stephen's hands. That way if anything went horribly wrong, she could always blame him for it...

Stephen managed to get over his little fit of laughter and turned to look at Ikuze, polity waiting for her to order. Her final verdict was for him to decide, which usually mean that she could not decide on one thing or she was unable to decipher what the items on the menu were. Either way, he would try his best to choose an appealing dish for them both. "Well, I hope you like fish then. We will be having the poached wild salmon with a side of lentils as our main course. Your Isle of Wight tomato salad would be a nice appetizer," he paused and looked over the menu thoughtfully then closed it, "and a pot of La Vie en Rose tea, if you would be so kind." Mrs. Wilons nodded and wrote the order down then looked to the other couples for their's. A waitress came up then and deposited a glass of water to each guest. Stephen took a sip of his as he looked over to Ikuze once again, "How was that? Anything in the order you object to?"

Edelweiss had to pass by Stephen and Ikuze's table to reach the washroom anyway, and noticed how the eyepatched noble seemed to be a hairline away from having a snicker fit. 'Well, nice to see someone is having a kick out of it', the redhead thought. That grumpy face of his didn't seem so grumpy right now. And while the EIRAL lad's offer was (pleasantly) surprisingly polite, Amon's dry remark that they'd be paying him anyway also earned a snicker from her. At least her unexpected little 'herbal bath' with tea guanranteed some amusing results; she could be content with that.
Glancing at Ikuze for a second, Edelweiss wondered about what in the menu was currently confusing the bluehaired lass. She could have helped with that, but then she'd have to look over Ikuze's shoulder or ask what she wasn't understanding, and both that'd be awkward and she really needed to wash all that tea off her own hair. Oh well, seemed like Ikuze found her own way out anyway. And Edelweiss headed into the washroom - hopefully Amon might still remember her (all free, hooray!) meal order to ask Ms. Wilon.
"...Okay then..." Amon replied as he took his seat; best not refuse the owner's generous offer.
"Edel wanted some shrimp rolls, a portion of cauliflower cheese, one of these tomato and olive tarts, and a cup of the iced tea that was accidentally spilled on her. I'll take the Grilled Rose County beef sirloin with morel sauce and the same type of tea as well," he requested, perfectly reciting Edel's order. If nothing else, that was one thing he wasn't going to mess up on.
Looking over, he caught sight of Stephen recover from his snicker fit. "...You okay there?" he asked lightheartedly.
