Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Lasair began pacing around her as she spoke, inspecting her. She had the reason to fight, he didn’t need to question that, however, she still needed to be questioned, challenged, so to say. It was a part of the initiation, after all.
But, he wanted to make it a little more interesting. Lifting a hand, he began to call forth some magic, Deceit to be exact, and used it to confuse Fawna. It would only last ten seconds, but how she did in those moments was important. With the magic cast, he continued speaking. “A worthy cause to fight for,” he began, continuing his slow pace around her, which wouldn’t help her confusion. “But we have people in our ranks. What can you offer us? What can you do that few others can?”
Fawn opened her mouth to answer his question but closed it when her mind clouded. She couldn't think straight. And she wasn't about to say something when she could put her words together right. She might come out with the wrong thing. The woman tried to follow the man circling her but that wasn't helping. Clenching a fist she felt her feathers fringing up, puffing out twice their initial size. She was getting worked up. No. 'I need to calm down.' Slowly releasing her imaginary death grip on the air she forced herself to relax. Fawn looked up straight ahead. "I can...." Her wings smoothed out. "I can offer you my strength and wit in defensive combat." She finally got out. Calm and confused.
Suddenly the strange feeling lifted. It must have only lasted a few seconds but it felt like an eternity. Fawn shifted the mass of feathers on her back so that they were halfway opened. Not enough to be threatening. Shaking off the uncomfortable prickling sensation up her spine she looked at the man.

As she finished speaking, he stopped his pacing and stood in front of her. She handled that well, very well. And she wanted to work in defense. A nice contrast to the other recruit he had picked up tonight. The two of them would make a nice pair if they worked together, however, for the mission he had planned, only one of them would be needed. A shame, really.
After waiting a few moments, to make sure she really had calmed down, he broke into a smile. “Okay. Go two hundred yards that way and then take a right. You’ll be near a large building. If you can’t find it, you can forget this night never happened.” He took a step back as he gestured in the designated direction, half entering one of the shadows. “Wait there until I come get you. There might be other people wandering around these woods.” He moved back again, but then paused. “One more thing, you probably won’t be able to see it from the sky.” And with one last grin, the man in the fox mask was gone.
Fawn nodded and released the spell that transformed her wings into her tattoos. The mint colored feathers morphed into dark brown branches on her back as she turned to leave. Two hundred yard and a right. Not too bad. Trudging off she guessed her distance merely by sight alone. And when she thought she had gone far enough the turned right. A large structure loomed over her. It was gorgeous. Fawn took her time running her gaze over the whole thing. But she didn't bother to notice the other person on the grounds.
Edith heard the young woman before she saw her and stilled. Her orange eyes picked up bright mint as soon as she rounded the corner. As the woman approached the building, Edith tendsed to jump just incase. However, the from the was she was looking at the building, she may have been lost... or could be like her and was recruited as well.
Only one way to find out. She jumped down from her perch 10 ft from the girl.
Fawn flinched slightly as someone landed nearby. She threw up an arm across her chest defensively. Her deep brown eyes took in the other person curiously. But also cautious. "Who're you?"Fawn asked lowering her arm as the person seemed to pose not threat just yet. Must be another recruit or someone who already was part of the guild. They were strong whoever it was. She could see that much just by sight alone. "You work here?" The ander woman pointed at the massive building. She wanted to enter so badly but she was told to wait, and she wasn't eager to cause commotion just yet.
Edith debated for a moment, taking in the girls causious stance. Honesty seem to be the best policy with getting into this guild so far, no use in trying something new. But still, best not to reveal too much, ya know, safety first.
"The name's Edith, and no. Not yet at least.... How about you, Miss? Got a name and a reason for being here too?"
"Pleasure." Fawn said in response to the woman's name. "And I'm Fawn. I've just been recruited, and I take from your answer your a recruit as well." The girl studied Edith quietly. "I assume ya met Mister Hands back there?" She asked pointing over her shoulder. "Not a bad security system they got goin' on around here." The winged ander looked up to the building again. Strange place and strange people.

Looking up at the moon, Lasair decided that it was late enough. No more recruits would be coming tonight. The fact that two had passed the tests was good news. Well, he had yet to see if they made it to HQ, but he had a good feeling about them. Most who passed the questioning did, in fact, make it through the woods.
He hopped down from his perch, jogging lightly through the forest. The headquarters was like a second home to the general ander now. He could find his way there blindfolded. Walking through the trees as if they weren’t there, he finally entered the clearing that the building sat in, gold paint glowing in the moonlight.
There he saw the two new recruits. Good, they had met each other. Walking up to them, he maintained the mysterious act, grinning from under his mask. Only when he was beside them did the act finally end. He flipped the mask off over his head, revealing the spiky red hair and a friendly smile.
“Welcome to Magicae Incolentium,” he said, having no trouble pronouncing the foreign words. “Otherwise known as MI for short. We’re a secret guild. Let the secret out and you’re out. No exceptions. We welcome those who are willing to fight and have a vast knowledge ready to be learned for those who are worthy. Come inside.” His demeanor was completely different than what it was when testing them, almost as if he were a different person. Waving them forward he walked towards the doors of the building.
Edith could barely contain her joy. She had done it, she had found the guild trying to help her people, and now she could finally do the same. Her heart felt like it would burst from her chest with joy, this golden building shown brightly in the forest, bright like the future. Exchanging a quick look with Fawn after he spoke, she followed the red hair man, who's personally seemed to do a complete 180, into the building.
Whoa there, that wasn't the face she was expecting or the attitude. A carrot top. Fawn snickered to herself as she inspected the new arrival. Well. He probably wasn't that new, he was a recruiter, so he knew much more then they did. She listened to him growing proud of herself for getting into the guild. Now she could learn and help her kind through knowledge. Edith seemed almost twice as excited as she was. But the hope budding in her chest could never be matched, she would do whatever she could to save those she'd been protecting and helping thus far in her life. And if she had to prove herself again she'd do it a hundred times over, even if it killed her. With a giddy little skip she followed the two inside.

Lasair chuckled as the two new recruits seemed to be overly excited at his arrival. It was always nice to see some enthusiasm among the ranks. After showing them the way inside, he stood in the main entrance. “We have just about everything here, but the biggest room is the library. If you can find it, you’re welcome to read all you can find. However, the books stay here.”
Reaching a hand behind his head, he pulled his mask up for the pair to see. “You’ll also need a mask. Gotta make it, not buy it. Can’t have anyone recognizing you. The mask also stays here. Hm, anything else you need to now?” he paused, tapping his chin as the mask fell behind him. “Ah yes; our leader’s name is Danny. You might see him around, but if you don’t, he’ll show up at your trial, which you’ll hear the details to later.”
He turned around then, heading back into the forest before either of the members could question him. On another night he would be out there again, waiting for new recruits.
Jayce sought the guild, as if he was seeking the black brotherhood. One of them may be true, the other not. Who was to know for sure? Which leaves him here, the sun setting as his foot steps crunch leaves and sticks underfoot as he makes his way into the forest. He's not going too deep to interfere with wildlife, especially not without any weaponry. His cloak covers his head and the majority of his torso. It's nothing fancy, patched together furs. Meant to keep him from prying eyes, not block any bullets.
He arrives at what could, or could not be the location, hell, THEY'RE magic, they can find him. He leans up against a tree and folds his arms, closes his eyes, and listens to what's around him. The sounds disrupting the average thought on his mind. It seemed as if he was calm, and taking a rest, but behind his eyelids, his eyes darted towards every sound he heard, he felt like he could see the sound waves in his mind.

The sound of movement came to Lasair’s ears from her perch in a tree. Someone was attempting to join, hm? He hopped out of the tree and followed the sound. They were a bit early, but that was okay. Someone was here to meet them and that’s all that mattered.
Moving silently he approached the figure. Their hood was up and they leaned against a tree, eyes closed, listening. So Lasair stepped forward, purposefully crunching something under his foot this time. The figure appeared to be male, but it was hard to tell. Either way, when he opened his eyes what he would see was a man wearing a similar cloak, this one made of a glossy fabric instead of fur. As well as the mask of a fox, painted gold and stitched onto the hood, covering all the facial features save for the mouth.
He only gave the new recruit a few seconds before speaking up. “Away from the tree. Stand up straight. Arms out. Palms up.”
Jayce opens one eye and looks up at Nine-tails. He opens his other eye and steps forward, doing as he's told. "What, no 'please'?" He smiles at the man as his mind pulses with many thoughts, including the M.I actually being real. He looks over the mail, and offers a soft "Exquisite fashion choice, if I say so myself."
