Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Cyric thought for a second as he looked at the picture, "So am I not allowed to kill members of the cult?" He said to him, "I mean I can just knock'em out. That's fine." He said, "As for the whole wanted thing, what EXACTLY are we wanted for? Are we like, a group of renegades that blows things up? That does go against the whole respect life thing but you never know." He said.

Lillian raised an eyebrow. "Cult?" Umm... What had she gotten herself into? All the talk of explosives compelled her to talk a step away from him. She assumed she knew the answer to the question asked, but being her curious self, she still she looked to Lasair, waiting for him to answer the brown-haired man.

Turning to the both of them, Lasair’s grin faded and grew serious for a few moments. “We are not killers.” It was a fact and every member needed to know that. “Wanna kill people? Then you’re in the wrong guild.” Simple as that.
To the other question, that was a little more….complicated. “Were you in the city when one of the EIRAL’s building blew up? They pointed to a group of ‘Ander rebels’ for the blame, saying we did it in rebellion. The public accepted this verdict, especially since Anders are viewed as lesser, inferior, and sometimes even as scum. This group, MI, did not blow up that building, but should we be discovered then we will likely be blamed. Besides for that charge, there are a few things that we have done. Stolen supplies, for example. We are also blamed whenever a shadow beast makes its way into the city. Thing is no one realizes that we’re the ones who stop them. It seems the cult Cyric mentioned has been causing more of those lately, beasts wandering in I mean. Which is why something will have to be done about them.”

She was glad Lasair was so unwavering of the fact that this guild was not a guild of killers. Though Lillian had taken one life before, and did not regret it, she never wished to take another life again. "What cult are we talking about? Who and where are they?" She asked, not entirely sure about what this cult they spoke of was. They must be awful if they did all of those terrible things. "How do we stop them?" She felt a bit defensive of the guild already. "Is there any way we can change the public's view of the guild without exposing ourselves?" She felt a bit bad for bombarding him with questions, as that was usually not something she did, but she was so curious she couldn't help it.
Cyric gave a nod, "Understandable." He said in regards to the whole killing thing, "I won't kill then." And then came the other explanation, "Ah yeah, that would be a good reason to keep yourselves..." He paused, "Ourselves, hidden." He then turned to Lillian, "Yeah, kinda grew up surrounded by a cult who worships shadow beasts...horrible really. Would not recommend it one bit," He said before turning to Lasair, "Of course, if we are gonna stop them I'll help as much as I can." Cyric smiled, "After that though," He thought for a second then nodded, "I am totally up for helping all of Anderkind!" He then looked at Lillian once more, "I also believe I forgot to introduce myself. Cyric Bachman," He said with a bow, "At your service."

He waited, giving Cyric a chance to explain the cult however he wanted to. Then the leader could add his own opinions about the group. “Yeah, they worship shadow beasts. From my understanding, one crazy person is the leader and their preaching seemed to resonate with others and now they’re all rabid, thinking people should be fed to the beasts. Crazy stuff. I’m hoping to get them disbanded soon; hopefully before they coax another beast into the city. From my understanding, their base is somewhere I the hovel.”
He turned to walk into the building a bit more, distancing himself from the entry door. “I’m still working on how to take them down, but we don’t need to discuss that now. And as for changing the public view; I’m working on it too.” He chuckled and looked to them then, a faint smile on his lips. “Any other questions? If not, I do believe our introduction is over.”

"My sympathies," she said to Cyric. Growing up around a cult like that must have been a terrible experience. "My name is Lillian, it's a pleasure to meet you." She gave a small smile.
As Lasair spoke, she nodded along, to let him know she was listening. When he asked if there were any other questions, she shook her head. "I don't have any." She looked to Cyric questioningly, before turning back to Lasair and saying "Thank you for the introduction."
She slowly floated away from the two, looking around the room they were in, touching the walls and the furniture lightly with her fingertips as she moved around. She was too curious. She resisted the urge to open the doors and discover what was held behind them. But she didn't, out of politeness, then turned back to them and said, "I'll be on my way home now-- I have to start on my mask right away. Good night to you two!" With a quick smile, she swiftly and optimistically left, Frederick trailing behind.
Cyric waved good-bye to Lillian, "Have fun!" He smiled to her as he began to walk off. He then stopped, "I have no clue where I am," he said as he turned to Lasair, "You mind uh...showing me around?"
(And thus the transition to the other thread happened)

After bidding Lillian farewell, Lasair turned to Cyric and began leading him to the library. From there, they could see the rest of the building.

[Present day]
It was another night, a calm one. Lasair sat perched on the usual branch of his lookout tree. It was cold outside and as a gust of wind blew through he pulled his cloak a little closer to himself. He was watching, listening for potential new members to wander into the woods. Sun down, a hundred yards inside, come unarmed, come alone. They were simple requests.
With the golden fox mask covering his eyes, he rubbed his gloved hands together, wishing he has something to cover his mouth as well. But alas, he had what he had. Now all he could do was wait.
the city of dreams and hopes , steam and cogs, a place you could come to learn and grow. But it a city that had seen alot of violance and blood as a young monk Tomer entered its streets from the boat he had traveled on from his homeland. with his walking stick in hand he began to roam the streets , taking in all the sites he had to see. This city was not like his home where it was made with careful hands and smart minds to express emotion. but made to be effective of the space within the city limits. squares and lines too tame for such a place to make mavens in. With careful eyes , Tomer watched people carefully as he learned the way of life in the city.
There was the rich which some would look at him with odd and sometimes disgust as he walked through the centre of the city, all with their worldly belonging on them to shine as bright as silver and always on the go without a moment to stop as they where guarded by men and women in green and full of pride. Then there was the middle class as they worked away in the theater district and the market district as they sold arts and goods , an honest way of living. then there was the poor , the back allyway people and the people of the hovel. as Tomer watched as he related to his former life of being poor, some stole and others tried to scrap by what they could get. however from all he watching and roaming he saw the people who had black blood like himself where the most targeted by Red bloods for reason only years of race issues could only explain. but afterwards once the pain had stopped, Tomer would help them when he could as he avoid trouble from the people who would be loud and tried to show they where bigger then anyone else.
Tomer had walked far and wide of the city but yet he had not found knowledge yet within its walls of the city of gear and hope. as he wondered he heard from chatter about something in the woods that was other then tales of beasts of shadow. the details where limited with some saying they where people who terrorised the city and where Black Blooded. he know these where only words passed from one to another as whispers of gossip to create a chain that could be lies or truths with the main one being that people who would go into the wood would be taken by them for who knows what. interested due to finding out who they where, Tomer choose to walk the woods at night as he counted each of his beads in his other hand as he prayed . the woods where natures way of tell a story and theses where dark as night could have been , enough that for the people with the simple of mind could have been lost or worse , but Tomer kept his mind calm and clear and his ears , his eyes and mind open as he listen careful of the sound of the wind and his own steps and anything else he could hear, see or feel even in the cold winds of winter. he didn't know how far he had to walk or how hostlie these people where but he was ready for anything , with his staff in hand as his walking stick and his preys he was sure he be safe for only those who seek to cause pain to others will only cause pain to themselfs.

Lasair shifted on his perch, hearing the sound of footsteps approaching him. When he saw the young person approach, he turned and jumped down from the tree, rolling his neck as he landed. Stepping forward, he approached the stranger and regarded him with deep blue eyes. A monk of some kind it seemed. Odd, but questioning motives would come later.
“Who are you. Why are you here.” His voice rang out crisp into the cold air. The mask and hood would hide his identity, but despite that, people seemed to know what they were walking into when they approached him these days.
Tomer stopped as suddenly something dropped out the trees, a figure that its face looked like a fox's face and was covered in a clock of darkness, he listen as it asked its questions as it demanded to know why he was there " are you the people I heard of?. I can only guess to reasons why you hide your faces and the reasons why you linger in such a place like this but hiding truth is hiding from yourself inside so till you show who you are , Ill will do the same enough till I know who you are ..... I am not here to harm but please beware I am not defenceless as ones who seeks to cause pain will only hurt them own self ..... I am a monk from Masaa, on a pilgrimage of knowledge in lodan to learn about its people and its knowledge...... I came here on this night after I heard whispers about this group from listening .... some are bad such as terrorised the city and some are good as helping the people when you can ..... as so to understand better the situation what these people are in. and what I have seen , people with black blood are treated poorly by others who have red blood when we are all the same living things." he said as he rested on his staff a little, keeping the information such as his name or what race he is out the hands of hidden people
" I come tonight to ask questions and to understand what is what and learn what I can , I only ask for an audience to learn and to find a way to balance out the problems this city has , as my master once said , we are all living things and regardless of what our blood is, how we look or our believes. We all should get along. I understand if you choose to declined this request as this be much to ask strangers who hid behind masks that hides who they are" Tomer said as he expected one of 2 answers: (a) they would say no and send him away and/or attack him , or (b) tell him what he wanted to know and only that and then let him go with threats of death if he spilt the beans on them somehow. but he was ready for anything at this point as he already took the dive into the darkness.

The man in the fox mask listened carefully to what the monk had to say. And while he was annoyed that the man didn’t answer his questions, he was also intrigued by the way he explained himself.
“This is a group seeking to promote equality between human and anders alike. If you wish to help contribute to that cause, then perhaps you have a place here. But what do you have to offer a group such as this? What could you do to help us in our struggle?” He tilted his head to the side as he watched the man how. He had mentioned having black blood. And while Lasair would like to have proof of such a claim, he also knew that the magical wards would keep any humans away. So perhaps he could allow this guy to try. If he didn’t make it to the guild, so be it.
Tomer listened to the question carefully as the fox was trying to see if he would join this group , asking what skills he brings , what he would contribute? this was a question that would be a bit more harder to mask as Tomer know he own strengths and weakness is a few of a things that makes a being " that is a question quite close to the truth , Mr fox. but from the outset I am a monk who knows about herbs that soothes pain and cure people of aliments, I am knowledgeable and aware of all around me in my 10+ years for training and mediation, allowing me to pick up on things that most would miss" Tomer then reached inside of his robe and pulled out a scroll "finally I am a Monk on pilgrimage and a spreader of peace. there could be places that I can reach where most could not" he said as she unrolled the scroll , showing the Masaa insignia beaded onto it.
"trust works both ways, Mr fox, truth works the same, its only fair to give so much else to give much more then needed is to risk who we are " Tomer said as he put the scroll as he rested more on his staff " a man can give out his name a 1000 times but it only take a forked tongue to change the meaning for that name. even if his actions are innocent and just." Tomer looked at the man careful "so now we both at a crossed path, Balanced. but I feel you would want to test me in some manner? something that would prove Im worthy? am I right? If so I will accept as long as it does not conflict with my practice of peace" Tomer explained , ready for anything.

His claims were fair, his speech even, and his overall personality was rather simple. He was a monk with a purpose. Lasair could not argue much with that, but what he could do was challenge his ideals of peace, see what he would be said.
“A scenario. You encounter a man holding a knife to a child, ready to kill the kid. There’s nobody else around. Just you. He doesn’t want to talk. He wants to kill the kid and maybe you too. What do you do?” Most would give an easy answer; fight the man. But this monk seemed determined not to do that. So, how would be react in such a situation?
