Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Amon and anyone unlucky enough to walk into his shop at the momentIt was a fine afternoon; the sun was bright in the sky, a cool breezy lessened the maddening heat, and loads of people were out an about doing various things that- A loud bang broke the peace. The sound was caused by Amon's poor door being kicked open to revel a huge, bear-like shadow. "AMON!" boomed a terrifyingly friendly voice. "WHERE ARE YA, FRIEND?" Yes, Charles Leland had graced- or plagued in Stephen's opinion- the town with his overly large presence. The smaller of the two Leland slinked behind his father like a sickly shadow. Stephen fretted the whole way here; His father stood out like an elephant in a china shop. He towered over most of the citizens of lodan and shouted greetings to practically everyone like a child on a candy high. He was so loud that Stephen thought he caught a little girl tear up when Charles practically yelled "Good day, little lady" to her.
"Oh look, he does not appear to be here. How about we just go back-" "Nonsense! I didn't take time off my busy schedule just for the man not to show up! Let's wait here for him!" Charles cut his son off, slamming the door shut so the eye patched noble couldn't escape. The violence in which he shut the door caused one of the toys to bounce off the shelf. Stephen just barely managed to snatch the toy before it clattered to the ground. "Father! Try not to break anything, please! Do not bumble about like a drunken rhino!" Charles chuckled, watching his son delicately place the item which he almost destroyed back on the shelf "You're too tense, son! Loosen up! You'll get gray hairs if you worry so much, and that will certainly not help you in the ladies department. Now, let's see; AMON! I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" Stephen pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to ignore the ringing in his ears. Today was going to be just wonderful.

Iaco burst through the door, pizzazz, as usual, musical tones dappling his voice as he said "Amooon! My dear wonderful guil- Oh!" He cut himself off, mid sentence, with an abrupt stare at the two noblemen in the shop. A false grin, laced with sickenly sweet poison, spread across his face as he bowed at the two of them. "I do apologize, I believe I am interrupting something,-" He stood straight once again "am I not? Of course, it matters not! I'm not in a hurry, and I will wait outside for you three to finish!" He began stepping backwards, but a twinge if irritation revealed himself as his face twitched ever so slightly.

"What's the rush! No need to worry! You've interrupted nothing! My name is Charles Leland, I don't think I've had the privilege of meeting you, Sir!" Charles gave the newcomer a broad smile, instantly liking his manners and friendly appearance. Stephen pretended to examine a nearby toy with mild disgust. Brilliant. This psychopath was now a new acquaintance of his lunatic father. They will make grand friends and he will have a heart attack every time Charles is in Mr. Lerwick's presence. It's not that his father could not take care of himself if he was attacked. It's just that Stephen was not comfortable having anyone he cared about known by this freak of nature.
"For once, Abe agrees with me..." replied Amon, a little tearful as he hid under a table.
He had just gone into the back to get something. He just happened to need the dolls for some help. By pure (and thankful) coincidence, he was not in the front room when Charles blasted his way into his shop. On one hand, he had an idea as to why Charles is here, which is good. On the other hand...Charles is here...which is bad in its own way.
With a sigh, he crawled out from under the table. "Let's get this over with," he said, making his way to the door leading to the front of the store, gingerly opening the door.
"...Hey...Charles..." he said, making his way out, the door suddenly slamming behind him.
"...Did you just...?" asked Abby, looking at Abe, who was currently holding the door shut.
"It would be for the best..." replied Abe.

The man of need suddenly appeared, attracting all of Charles attention. "NOW HERE IS THE MAN OF THE HOUR!" With the confidence of a king, Charles strode over and patted- which in normal human terms looked like a violent slapping- Amon's back with a huge smile. After sending up a quick prayer to whoever was willing to listen, Stephen straightened then walked over to his father. Curious that Amon's dolls were not present. Thinking about it now, it would be best thar Charles didn't see them. He might just explode. Given by the size of his father, that would be quite the mess to clean up.
"@#%&!" thought Amon, a storm of swears and curses filling his head at being shut out from the safety of the back room. "YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EMOTIONS, WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU SCARED?!"
Unfortunately that thought was swiftly pushed away with more swears as Stephen's bear of a dad came over and practically knocked the wind out of him. It took him a while to regain his breath, giving Stephen a quick glance as if to say, "Why'd you have to bring HIM along?"
"So, Charles," he said, finally catching his breath. "I assume you're here to deliver your specifications on your clockwork doll...?"

Wonderful; Amon was giving him an accusing look. As if it was his fault that his father was a hurricane. No sense in not taking credit for Amon's discomfort though. Stephen smirked and shrugged in response, giving off the best impression that he truly did not care. "Indeed I am, Amon! Now, what specifications do I need to give you," Charles thankfully stopped his attack on Amon's back to search his own pockets for something. Charles procured a slip of paper with messy scrawl all over it. "Just in case, I made a list of possible suggestions. Never hurts to be prepared!" He let out a laugh, undoubtedly amused by some bygone war memory. Stephen grimaced and busied himself with examining the toys on the shelf nearest to him.

"What exactly are you needing Amon's robots for? Of course, of course his are the best in Lodan, as I'm sure you know!" Iacomus stepped in closer. He could see how uncomfortable the mechanic and noble boy were, and he chuckled slightly in amusement. This Charles fellow was an interesting one, it seemed.

Edelweiss had finally restarted wlking around Lodan. 'Finally', she thought, as she had been extremely tired of being reclused in her late father's house doing nothing but laying in bed and crafting dolls for months. She still wasn't in top condition to work for the most part, and likely wouldn't be for a while, but at least she was fine enough to put on decent clothes and take a walk. That was something she'd been wanting to do for ages already. So, before going to check how her 'theater buddies' were faring at the Theater District today she decided to pass by Amon's workplace and say hello, since he had been one of the few people who had visitted her meanwhile she had been beddriden. She passed through the door quietly like a sane, non-explosive person does and looked inside with a hand raised in a still wave. "Good day, A--"
Oh there's Stephen over there. A person she didn't know as well... And Stephen's father, potentially damaging Amon's lungs with a series of very intense patting then showing him what looked like an encrypted code. "---I'll wait outside."
Solanna hummed to herself as she skipped down the street, her bells on her ankle and wrist bracelets ringing away as she moved, a smile on her face as she felt the warmth of the sun on her skin. The cobblestone pavements heating up from the sun did nothing to dissuade her bare feet neither as she made her merry way to nowhere. She'd finally arrived in Lodan and was already enjoying the different smells and sights and sensations of the city. Even the people here seemed to be quite taken with her, given how many stopped to look at her as she passed them by. She waved in turn to each one as she passed, smirking at those gentlemen that looked at her a little too long, to the dismay and fury of the women they were with.
Today felt like it was going to be a good day indeed... "Oooh?" she cooed when she saw a red haired person slowly backing out of a shop. She skip-ran up to them and smiled before looking through the window. "Oooh! They grow them big here!" purred Anna with a lick of her lips before looking at the red head. "Something wrong? What could be wrong? Sun is shining, birds singing, and everyone seems to have such smiles on their faces!" she said with a smile of her own before looking back in the window, peering through her blindfold. She could see clearly through the fabric even though it obscured her eyes from the rest of the world... but it did make everything have a very pretty blue shade to it all.
"That big fella seems to like playing rough with that other guy... and the other one looks kinda like the big one." she said, pointing first to Charles, then Amon, then to Stephen. She looked at the fourth male then shrugged. "Eh, he's a little pasty and creepy looking... oh well. Guess Lodan's got all sorts here don't it?" she asked, looking back at the red-head with a smile. "So, you a boy or a girl? Not too fussed... you look pretty either way." she said before taking in a gauge of the person before her. "Although you seem kinda tired... rough night last night eh?" said Solanna with a wink and a smirk before looking back inside at the ensuing drama.

Iacomus felt prying eyes, and looked behind him, where two woman stood, staring in. "Proof of Amon's talent shows in the line that seems to be building up behind us, it seems." He said this, not in hopes of getting the noble to hurry up, as many would. "Might I invite them inside, Amon? I could tend to them as well as I could and speed up business, if that would be helpful."
"WHY IS SHE HERE?! OF ALL TIMES?!" thought Amon, internally screaming as he noticed Edel. He was dealing with anyone else, he would easily follow Iaco's advice...just replace Iaco with Abby and Abe. Heck, any other time, he wouldn't mind Edel's presence. However...
"No thanks Iaco, it seems as though they'll visit another time. Actually, Stephen, could you do me a favor: could you get some doughnuts for me from the shop down the way? I'll pay you when you get back," he said, thinking fast and hoping that Stephen would get the hint. He very much doubt that Edel could handle Charles in her current state, and he really did not feel like introducing Iaco to her.
In the meantime, he started to look over the paper Charles handed to him. As he went through the paper, he discovered something interesting: he couldn't read a lick of it.
"Hey, Charles?" he asked, slowly regaining composure. "Why don't you tell me some of the key features that you want your doll to have," Amon said, gesturing over to the counter, away from the front door and from Edel. "And we can finalize all of the features with Stephen when he gets back."

"Now, now, why would you ask such a favor of the boy? He's obviously on business. I'd be more than willing to get the doughnuts for you, and by that time, your business might be finished and I can speak to you about a new idea of mine." Iaco said, and without waiting for a response, as he knew that the answer would be 'no', he strutted out of the shop, and began in the direction of the doughnuts, but stopped at the two who seemed to be starring through the window. "My my, aren't you two lovely. I don't think I've seen either of you around Lodan. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Iacomus Lerwick, but you can call me whatever you like! What are your names?" His smirk grew, sickeningly pleasant, as it often was.

Charles looked around at the new commers with interest. He's eyes lit with recognition when they landed on the red haired lass but soon all his attention was on the startling beautiful woman next to her. Stephen's eyes widened when he saw exactly what his father was going to do before he even made a move. In a flash Stephen was in between the women and the overly flirtatious bear. "Sir, I do believe Amon asked you something! It would be rude not to answer!" "TRUE BUT IT WOULD BE RUDE TO IGNORE THESE FINE WOMEN IN OUR PRESENCE! GO GREET THEM FOR ME SON WHILE I TALK BUSINESS WITH AMON" Charles spun Stephen around and shoved him towards the door. The assassin just badly managed to not fall flat on his face, regaining his footing in front of the women in question. Might as well pretend to put on the charms for his father. Stephen smiled at the two, "Pardon my rudeness in not greeting you earlier Miss Fjäril. You look well today." He turned to the new girl, a charming smile still frozen on his face, "My name is Stephen Leland. It is a pleasure to meet you." No it was not "I too am eager to learn your name, ma'am" No he was not. "How about we all accompany Mr. Lerwick to the sweets shop. I promise to treat you all to a pastry of your choosing." In other words, get out of here before Charles eats you alive.
