Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Danny Ravensdale Is dating your guild leader legal? I hope it is. “I hope she got my message,” Lasair muttered to himself, pacing at the western entrance of the merchant’s district. After seeing Danny return with clothing that was torn and stained, he’d decided to take the best guild leader in all of Lodan out on a shopping trip. Clothes, lunch, and anything else Danny mentioned needing. And if the date went well, maybe he’d be able to surprise her at the end of it.
But he couldn’t do any of that if she didn’t show up. He had wanted to ask her in person, but after that day at HQ, she was suddenly very hard to find. So he settled for sending a message, and now here he was, pacing at mid-morning. He still smiled at anyone who passed him, but on the inside he was on the nervous side. Rarely did Lasair actually plan a date with someone, and honestly, until she arrived, he doubted he’d be able to calm down.

Well... what she was doing out and about Danny wasn't really sure of. What she was sure of was that Lassy had offered free food, which is the best kind of food. Danny rounded the corner to the west side merchant's district and hustled towards her meeting. She was wearing canvas overalls with a blue buttoned workman's shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Her hair was tied back and capped in place by her familiar hat and her goggles bounced around her neck as she walked.
"Where is he...?" Danny paused and scanned the crowd, but it was still early enough that the sun was making it hard to distinguish who was who. "Oy! Lassy! Where ya hidin'?" she called out over the din of the crowd.

"Oy! Lassy! Where ya hidin'?"
Hearing the nickname Danny used, he turned towards the source and scanned the crowd, quickly spotting Danny’s hat from among the crowd. Pushing through the people, Lasair smiled when he finally found her, relieved she had come “Good to see you again Danny. Or do you prefer Danielle now?” he asked, wanting to be considerate for her. “Where would you like to go first?” he added, gesturing to the sprawling shops before them.

"Dunno... I don' really care much no more." Danny scratched her nose before looking at Lasair. "Well, it was yer idea, ya gotta have some kinda thoughts on what ya were gonna do. So you pick, Lassy." Truth be told, she had no idea what she wanted to do. Well, she did, but it had nothing to do with socializing or anything. More like amassing more power and setting up hunts for dangerous anti-anderswelter individuals.

“Alright, let’s start with clothes, you need some new ones right? There’s a shop I think you’ll like just up the street.” He offered her his arm to her so they could walk together. Crowds could be pushy and while Lasair was sure Danny wouldn’t have any trouble getting through, he sill would like to actually, you know, have physical contact with her. She was one to always keep her distance, but walking together wasn’t that bad. Hopefully she realized that.

"What's wrong with my clothes? They do what they're s'posed ta do. Keep me warm an' cover me up." All the same, Danny started walking while pretending she didn't see Lasair offer his arm. She knew his reputation, and besides, she really didn't want anyone getting even remotely close. Best keep everyone at arm's length and in sight.

Good old Danny, as cold as ever, despite the long absence. That wasn’t going to stop Lasair, however. He fell into place walking beside her. “Nothings wrong with ‘em. Just thought you’d like to have more. In case you decide to go forest exploring again.” She never did fully explain what she was doing out there. Probably something to do with the shadow beasts.
A short distance away was the shop Lasair had in mind. Their clothes were all about function, not fashion, just the thing Danny would like. Coming to the entrance, Lasair stepped forward and held the door open for her, allowing her to head inside and start looking around as he followed behind.

Danny looked at the store and tried her best to hide her disappointment. Truth be told, she loved going shopping. She loved the bright colors and pointless designs, loved the beautiful dresses and dashing suits, the sparkling jewelry, the hats, and bonnets, and lace, and all manner of frilly and expensive things. But she could never afford them, and they'd never hold up with what she had to do to make ends meet. So this was just how folks saw her. All she cared about was practicality. She couldn't blame them...
Well, no sense standing around. Danny walked into the store and made a beeline for a pair of heavy canvas work pants. They looked sturdy... but she'd need a belt to keep them up. Having your pants fall down on the job would just be embarrassing. "The stuff I got now's good 'nuff fer the woods already."

“You don’t like this store?” Lasair asked, feeling disappointed in himself. She had picked out a pair of pants, but they only in came in a size that was much too big for her. “How about you pick the place then? Anywhere at all. My treat.” He really wanted to do something nice for Danny, if only she would just let him. Lasair knew a nice person was in there, hiding from everyone. He just didn’t know how to get them out.

"No no, I like it. Good solid workin' clothes." Danny set the pants down and moved around the store to another pair. Not quite as sturdy looking, but they'd fit better. And there were a pair of black leather workman's gloves that'd go wonderfully with them. "'sides. Was yer idea, yer pickin'." Danny draped the pants over her arm and picked up the pair of gloves she'd seen earlier. Now, to find a shirt. "Whaddya think, pretty boy? Blue'r'green?" She moved to a simple blue button up shirt, and a green sleeveless workman's shirt.

“Hmmm. Blue. Matches your eyes,” he decided, gesturing to the shirt. Lasair was relieved that Danny finally picked something out, but he still felt bad that she wasn’t so enthusiastic when she had walked in. He’d have to try and bring her to a different store. Heck, he’d bring her to every store just to see her smile in the slightest. He just wanted her to have some fun today.

Danny grunted in acknowledgement of the choice and draped the blue shirt over the pants she'd picked up earlier. "A'righ'... le's get these an' get goin'. Pretty sure this ain' whatcha had in mind when ya were talkin' 'bout goin' an' doin' somethin'." Danny walked up to what she could only assume was the proprietor of the store and spoke. "I'll be gettin' these. Lassy's payin' fer em." She turned and waited for Lasair to get over and render payment to the man.

Following Danny to the shopkeeper, he smiled and worked out the price for the garments, paying for them when there was an agreement. He didn’t know what he had expected from Danny, but for some reason it seemed surprisingly hard to please her.
Exiting the shop, Lasair glanced around to see if there were any other places nearby. There was the fashionable store where he usually got his clothes from, but would Danny like that? What would she like if she hadn’t been happy to come here? He could at least try mentioning the idea to her. “Would you be interested in seeing where I usually shop? I’m not sure if you’d care for the place, but if you see anything you like, just say the word.” If not, well, he wasn’t sure what he’d do then.

"A'righ'. Lead on Lassy." Danny tucked her new clothes under her arm and followed Lasair to wherever he was leading. "Be honest, why ya doin' this Lassy?" Danny looked at the man with a face held studiously blank. It was something she'd gotten good at doing.

“You deserve to have some fun. Be treated like the important person you are. And who knows,” he paused, stepping towards the store across the street. “Maybe I’ll even see you smile for once.” He didn’t look towards her as he spoke, unsure of how she’d react. Probably assume the worst or something. He just hoped she wouldn’t leave, but if she tried, he wouldn’t stop her.
