Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Uhuh..." Danny walked towards the store, doing her best to keep her face blank. He was just a pretty face. Just a pretty face. Danny mentally crushed whatever vestiges of giddiness awoke and ground it into dust. No time for that. No time for vulnerability. She wouldn't be stabbed in the back again. She wouldn't.
Danny entered the store and let out a small gasp. There were so many things to see! There were dresses and hats and bonnets and scarves and gloves and pants and shirts and coats and shoes and the list just went on. Which one to try first? No, play it cool Dan. Play it cool... go for the pants. That'd be safe. Go for pants, and get a vest. A tie, and a coat as well. Probably some spats for the shoes... No. Stop that. Calm and composed, Dan, calm and composed. The suit would be a good idea. Start there...
Danny meandered through the store with what she hoped was a convincing look of idle curiosity and not the pounding excitement she felt instead. She drew near a maroon suit and stopped.

Of course she didn’t have a response for him. That’s just how Danny was. No way to tell if his words made an impact on her of not. Smiling a little as they walked into the store, Lasair felt a little happier with himself. She was actually interested in everything here, no prompting needed. He followed her through the store, not right behind her, but at a certain distance.
When she stopped near a rather nice looking suit, Lasair stepped forward. “I bet you’d look great in that, want to try it on? They have changing rooms in back and you can get it tailored to your size right then if you decide you like it.” He remembered having done that several times himself. Nearly everyone at the store knew and liked him, he just had to show his face and everyone would give Danny the same superb treatment.

"Yeh, think I will. But don' you be doin' anythin' creepy. I can rip out yer spirit an' make it a battery fer some'a my magic. Trus' me, it ain' gonna be pleasant." Danny made her threat quietly so only Lasair would hear it. She turned and waved down one of the floor workers for the shop and spoke. "Yeh, I'd like ta try this'n on. An' don' worry 'bout payin'. Lassy's the wallet t'day." Danny cut the woman off far before she could make the 'Oh you couldn't afford it sweety' comment she knew would come. That being said and taken care of, Danny moved towards the back of the store and waited for the staff to bring said suit.

Lasair waved at the lady coming to grab the suit. She immediately recognized him and smiled as she followed Danny in back to work on the suite. While they were busy, he walked around the shop, looking at what new things they had. He was trying not to think about the very, uh, detailed thread Danny had given him. Did she really think he’d try to catch a peak at her or something? He was a better man than that, but she didn’t see it. A few moments later he found himself over in the dress section, wondering if Danny would be interested in any of those now that she didn’t hide her gender.

Well this was uncomfortable. All this poking and prodding. Danny felt like she was somebody's dress up doll and they couldn't decide what she should wear. Arms up. Arms down. Hips, waist, bust all measured within a span of a minute. Spin around, reach up, back down. The whole experience was disorienting, but eventually Danny stepped out of the dressing room wearing a maroon suit that fit like a glove. Her hair was still a mess, but the clothes themselves felt fantastic.
"Don' laugh." Danny shoved her hands into the pants pockets and waited for Lasair's feedback.

Turning around, Lasair couldn’t help but grin as he saw Danny. The suite really suited her, in an odd sort of way. He had never realized how great a girl could look in guy’s clothing. But here Danny was, looking like a celebrity or something. “You look fantastic in that, a great choice, you have to keep it.” He couldn’t take his eyes off her, seeing here wear anything fancier than the lower class garb she usually had on. “Were you interested in anything like this?” he gestured at the dresses behind him. “Or anything else in the store?”

Danny looked down and brushed some pretend dust from her sleeve cuffs. "Keep it in yer pants, Lassy." Danny had to admit the suit felt nice. It felt right, wearing something besides her rough work clothes. And then he gestured to the dresses. Danny paused as she eyed the dresses, but shook her head. "No, don' think they suit me. Eh, suit? Ne'ermind... tha' was bad..." That was a lie. She'd have loved the dresses, but had nowhere to safely store them so they remained the gorgeous works they were.

“Can’t I give an honest compliment?” he teased, looking back at the dresses. “Are you sure? I think you’d look good in this one…or maybe the emerald...” Lasair looked from the dresses to Danny a couple times, mentally trying to picture them on her. “Would you at least try one on?” He wouldn’t be surprised if she said no, but he wanted to suggest it. He had been lucky enough to see her in a suit, so why not press the luck a little further?

"Complimen's flow from ya like water down'a river." Danny shifted from one foot to the other, still eyeing the dresses. "I ain' got nowhere ta put one even if I wan'ed it." Danny sniffed once before continuing. "Bu' since yer payin' fer this lil shoppin' trip, I don' see 'ow it'd hurt ta humor ya. A'right, gimme tha' one ta try on. But don' think I'm no genie given out no three wishes." Hopefully she was convincing enough, and went back to the changing room to get helped into the dress.

Like a river? Lasair chuckled at the comment as Danny walked back with the dress. He looked around the shop a bit more as she changed, but didn’t plan on asking her to try anything else. But, when she said nowhere to put the, did she mean a lack of furniture? That was easy to fix, there were furniture shops around here too. Maybe she’d like a chest, or a wardrobe. Transporting the thing was always the hard part of buying it though. Or did she mean she needed something else? Whatever it was, it would be their next stop then.

Danny emerged from the dressing room in the green dress. Well, just because you put someone in a dress doesn't mean they change... Danny marched out with all the swagger she was known for and stopped in front of Lasair with her hands on her hips. "This whatcha were lookin' fer?" Danny blew a puff of air at her bangs, which were falling in her eyes. Maybe she'd get a haircut sometime soon...

"You look nice," Lasair smiled, opting for a more tame compliment. "Would you like to keep it? We can go pick up a place for you to keep it," he added. The green dress did look nice at her, even with that pose of hers. She looked cute, and in a way, Lasair wished she would dress like that more often. It really brought out her feminine side, although, he had to remind himself that she had gone out of her way to hide that side away.

Danny looked down at the dress before shaking her head. "Nah. I doubt ya'd be payin' fer a home'r somethin'. Ain' got no place ta keep it, so it ain' worth the effort." Danny went back into the changing room and got into her original clothes. "Le's jus' pick up the suit an' get goin'. No point 'angin' 'round 'ere when we ain' buyin' nothin'."

A house, that’s what she meant by not having a place to put it. Well, she had at least tried it on so that was nice. “Okay, just the suit it is.” Lasair walked over to the counter and had a short chat with the person on duty right now. Everyone here knew him after all. After paying for it, he emerged from the shop and looked over to Danny. “Is there anything you’d like to buy? Are you hungry? I know you said I was in charge but I want to make sure I go anywhere you’d like to go too.” He smiled, glad that he was able to help her out at least a little bit.

"'ow 'bout we take a peek at an' armory. Swords'n stuff. Then a couple'a the pharmacies in town, an' after tha' maybe some food markets fer ingredients." Danny shifted her weight with the suit draped over her arm as she spoke. "Oh! B'fore all'a tha', le's find a mask maker. I wanna see their stuff." Probably not what Lasair had in mind, but he asked where she wanted to go and she answered.
