Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

She saw the shock go across his face. Ao much for trying not to terrify him. But then he momentarily stunned her. "Wait? So your parents are not your actual parents? Like your adopted?" Curiosity killed the cat but Elaine couldn't help it. "That's a little odd. Not in a bad way." She added quickly. She wanted to know what happened but she didn't want to look nosey. Maybe he would tell her if he felt like it. "Both my parents are in the Merchant's District. You may have met them. They run a small book store down on the corner. And they sell various other things but mostly shelves upon shelves of books." She hadn't gone to see her mother and father in awhile. Maybe she would do that tomorrow.

"Oh... I might have seen the outside of their place, but I haven't been in any of the other shops yet. Still trying to set up the shop." Keefe said as he thought of all the pieces of art he could display and where they all would go. "And yes they are, technically my adopted parents, I should have known, but they treated me like any other mother and father would treat their own child. They had always been there, and loved me with all their heart, and I loved them too, I still do I just..." Keefe paused as he thought of what he wanted to say, "I just wish I could have meet my actual mother and father." Keefe said with a smile, sad on the inside a bit but ok with the fact that they were gone and that he had is adopted parents.

Elaine turned her head slightly to look at him. She didn't say anything at first she just kept looking at him. "Its always a good thing to have a family. Whether they are flesh and blood or not. As long as you have someone at your back." Elaine remembered what a woman shopping around the store had told her one day. Her nine year old self was sliding down the railing connecting her home and the store. She had just gone down and misjudged her landing, scraping her knees on the floorboards in the process. She stifled her tears and brushed herself off when an elderly woman offered her hand. Taking the help the woman told her she was one part brave, three part fool. A wild heart with a thirst for adventure even in the most unlikely places. Elaine had first thought she was a soothsayer and had just nodded quickly before running off. Logic of a nine year old. "Parents are strange things. You usually end up with a few more that necessary." She murmured the corners of her mouth curling slightly. "Everything around here are music and art shops. A few are schools for dance but not many. It's quieter from here on out."

Keefe noticed Elaine space out for a few moments before she commented about the places around them, "Oh... They have dance places?" Keefe said with a bit of shock to his voice, "I didn't think they would have that... Then again I have no idea what they should or should not have..." Keefe said as he looked around and actually spotted a dance studio, the lights were off but you could tell from all the mirrors inside that is what that place was.

"This place has almost everything!" Elaine said stretching her free arm to the sky. "I personally wouldn't ever catch myself in one. But that's because I don't dance so. I'm an artist and a part-time musician." Elaine walked past the studio giving a one second glare. "So your opening your own shop huh? Maybe I'll drop by when you open it. It sounds interesting." She noticed they were nearing the opposite end the district. The skies were still gray and still. "Most people see fray skies as lifeless, what do you think?" It was a strange question but it was conversation fuel.

Keefe smiled as he thought of all the things that he could explore in this city, all the new and exciting things to see. "Well of course you have to come to my place!" Keefe said as Elaine mentioned visiting his shop, "I will need you to bring some of you work so I can display it there, plus if you did want to learn some new art techniques you will need to come to my place so I can teach you." Keefe smiled thinking of all the stuff he could teach her, her style was great on its own but with the proper technique... It would be incredible. Elaine then asked what he thought of the grey sky, "Well..." Keefe began as he looked up at the sky tilting his head to get different angles, "I think you just have to look at it the right way to see its true beauty, like it's inner beauty." Keefe said as he continued to look up at the sky thinking of something he wanted to sketch later. "What about you? What do you think?"

"Will do." She nodded. "And I believe the sky is like a person. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, and has the potential to change in an instant. I think it proves the point of endless possibilities." She watched the clouds swirl as the wind teased them. They hit the invisible borderline that ended the Theater District. "This is where it ends. The Merchant's District is straight that way." Elaine motioned with her hand down a cobblestone street. "You can head back if you wish and explore more but I must be going. I promised my parents I'd help close up shop today." She gave Alonzo a smile. "It was a pleasure meeting you."

Keefe was in awe at the thought of the sky being like that, he could completely understand why she would say that and in a way Keefe believed that too, either way the sky is a beautiful thing. Once she pointed at the end of the theater district and said she needed to leave Keefe's heart sunk a bit, sad that she was leaving but he understood why, "Oh Yes, It was a great pleasure indeed." Keefe smiled at her as he felt her arm leave his, "We must meet up again some time!" Keefe wondered if that would be soon.

Elaine gave him a warm smile. "I'd like that very much." She said taking a few steps back. She didn't really want to leave. "Well I guess I'll see you around." With that she did a spin and walked up the road towards the merchants stall and her parents home. But before she got too far off she turned back to look, waving as she did so. Turning back she raised her scarf once more to protect her nose from the wind. Her long braid resting on her back. The warm fire in the fireplace at home beckoning her. She thought about how she was going to tell her Mum about the lost stranger she met at the docks.
