Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to Everyone!
Elaine sat on one of the posts at the docks watching the dockers mutter back and forth as they carried cargo. She had a pencil in her hand and was sketching furiously in a book. Some of the dockers paused to glance at her work before continuing. They laughed and joked with her a bit on their breaks. Her current position was crouching on her toes atop a dock post. She balanced the sketchbook on her knee while holding an half eaten apple in her one hand. Her curly hair was pulled back from her face in a braid that fell over her shoulder. A few rogue tendrils curled around her face. She examined the work of art with a skeptic eye. "By the stars. That needs to be fixed!" Elaine began to erase some smudges. She paid no heed to her surroundings.

"Why, hello, miss! I believe I have met you before!" Iacomus' voice rang across the docks as he spotted the curly haired girl as she sat on her post. He had just visited the Salty Dog and was heading back to his shop when he had spotted her. Dressed in his winter attire, he made his way over the girl and looked over at her drawing, not even attempting to be subtle about it. "Oh my, you are quite talented! And I believe you were playing flute the time we made acquaintances. Spectacular." Stepping back a little, he chuckled, and held out his hand, his gloves cut off at the fingers. "How are you this chilly afternoon, hm?"

Elaine looked up confused at first but quickly recognized the face coming towards her. "Mister Lerwick! It's wonderful to see you again!" She met him, well technically ran into him the other night leaving the theater. "I'm glad you like the drawing." She said brushing off some eraser bits. "But it isn't done quite yet. It's one of the dock workers, Marley I believe, he unloads the heavy cargo. He has been my inspiration today." Taking his hand with a gloved one of her own she lightly stepped down off her post. "And yes. I am the flute player." She gave a small bow. Her long coat brushed her ankles flapping about in the small breeze, which only made it seem colder. "I'm staying warm if that is what you are referring to on this chilly afternoon." Elaine smiled. "How are you? I hope everything is going well." She pulled her knit scarf up higher around her ears to keep them from getting cold but she could already tell they were turning red. I need a hat. She briefly thought wincing at the chill.

Well... Keefe was lost. He was trying to find his way to the theater district, but obviously took a wrong turn. As He wondered around aimlessly he noticed two people, one friendly looking and rather creepy looking one, talking off to the side. "Maybe one of them can help me!" Keefe thought to himself as he walked up to the two. "Hello there! My name is Alonzo Ruxton, but I normally go by Keefe. I was wondering if either of you two could help me." Keefe said with a large and friendly smile.

Iacomus chuckled as he glanced at the man she claimed to be drawing and turned back to her when she stepped down from the post. "You claim to be keeping warm, but it looks as if you need a hat." the strange man said as he glanced at her head and chuckled again, tugging at his own scarf. "I've been quite alright, although I must admit that life has been somewhat slow as the winter season comes. I haven't seen much of my friend Clancy either, which worries me slight-" A voice cut him off, and with a surprised expression on his thin face he turned to see a man with multicolored hair and bright green eyes. Apparently his name was Alonzo, or Keefe, as had introduced himself. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Alonzo." Iacomus responded, his voice sliding like honey, his pleasant-but-not-so-pleasant grin spreading across his face, welcoming. "But of course, it depends on what you need help with!"

Grinning Elaine pulled her scarf up to her nose. Clancy? Oh yes! I remember him, he was drunk but quite kind. The new voice brought a look of surprise from Iacomus which almost made her laugh. It seemed like an expression that wasn't suited well for him, or one he wasn't used to using. She turned to be greeted by a boy roughly her age. He had the strangest hair, artistic in a way. There is a conversation going on, get back to it! "H-hello." Elaine stammered trying to regain her grip on the situation. She pulled her fingers out of her sketchbook where she was holding her place and stuck her pencil behind her ear. Then shoved some of the loose papers back into order before tying the small ribbon around the book and holding it down at her side. "We can try our best to help." She smiled.

"I was wondering if you could direct me to the theater district. I heard they had artists down their that sell their work and if its good, I would buy it and sell it later, for I am an Art Curator." Keefe said with a smile, hoping that they, not only, know where this place he was looking for was, but that they may know of a good artist that he could possibly partner up with, "Your see I'm new around here, just came into town not too long ago, and sadly got lost..." The young man was sad to admit this but he couldn't lie, he was lost.

"Ah! I can surely help you with that!" Iacomus loved people like this. Lost, new, easy to trick into a dark alleyway or hidden corner. Those green eyes of his where somewhat enticing, and such organs are a surprisingly good seller. However, he'd have to gain a little bit of his trust first.... "Although, if it is an artist you're looking for, Miss Elaine here can draw splendidly. Why don't you take a look at what she has been working on!" Wrapping his bony fingers around Keefe's arm, Iacomus tugged him towards the curly haired girl and motioned towards her sketchbook. It would be rude of him to take Keefe to other artists when there was one right next to them, would it not? Although, he hoped that this man would want to look at other artists as well, for if he did not then he would be out of a set of eyeballs... Another issue would be where he had set up to sell his merchandise. If he had a shop in the merchant's district, it would certainly not do well for an organ vendor to kill him... "So then, Alonzo, might I ask where you sell the works you buy? It sounds like a quite interesting occupation to have!"

Theater District? Art Curator! Elaine was astounded at the boy's occupation. She stood in silent awe until Iacomus mentioned her sketchbook. She blushed and huggd it to her chest. "You wouldn't want any of these." She said with a nervous smile. "They aren't like the fancy paintings your probably looking for." Her own green eyes drifted down to the ribbon binding it shut. Absent-mindedly tracing its edge with her finger she glanced at Iacomus. He seemed very interested in Alonzo. For what reason she wasn't sure. "I work in Theater District. I can show you the way if you want. Or give you a tour. It's not too far from here." Elaine brushed her bangs back and adjusted the goggles on the top of her head. They were sliding backwards. He is kinda cute...she thought.

Keefe smiled, happily not only at the fact that they were friendly enough to help him find where he needed to go but also at the fact that he was standing next to a potential client. "Splendid!" Keefe said as he was pulled up to the younger girl. "I would love to see your work! I don't always go for the fancy, clean cut paintings, some of my buyers love the ruff and mess feel and look of sketches! So if you don't mind I would very much like to see, you could potentially be my first business partner if your work is what I'm looking for!" Keefe said as his eyes lit up with excitement. He had been so anxious to see the girls work that he nearly forgot about the questions the man and curly haired girl asked him, "Oh and I would very much appreciate a tour of this marvelous city, I would like to soon know my way around. And as for my place of business I work in the merchants district... Sadly I don't remember the number of my place, since I just got it the other day, but I do know around where it is and of course what it looks like!" Keefe said with a large and friendly smile as he turned back to the girl to hopefully look at her art.
(I haven't officially gotten a house in the merchants district yet so that's why he 'doesn't remember' the number... the thread is slow and nothing has really happened yet soo... ya... if we could lets not talk about that... if its ok!)

Elaine thought about it for a moment and then handed the leather book over. He seemed eager to explore and work. "The one on top is a regular dock worker. I see him everyday on my way to the Merchants District." She waved at Marley, who yelled back a goodbye. He had another ship in the port to go unload. "I haven't met anyone so interested in art like this. Much less a curator!" She laughed. Well. This is turning out to be a good day. Cold but good. "Mister Lerwick? Would you wish to join us?" Elaine pulled her coat tighter around her. The wind was picking up. Theater District sounds like a wonderful idea right now. Warm fireplaces and shelter from the wind.

"Why, of course I would!" Iacomus said as he smiled, but his shoulders tensed slightly. Of course she would escort him. He was hoping he could catch the boy alone. No matter, he'd find some other way. The wind seemed to have picked up, and Iacomus grasped the brim of his hat in order to prevent it from blowing away. With weary eyes, he looked up at twirling clouds that seemed to be forming slowly overhead. "Come on, then!" He said, his smile returning as he looked between the two, "Let us make haste!" And with a twirl he started to walk towards the Theater District.

"Thank you very much for letting me see this." Keefe said as he took to the book and began to follow the tall man to the theater district. Keefe had to hold the book tight so it wouldn't fly off due to the increasing wind, though it was getting colder he didn't feel it at all because of all the excitement that had been happening his nerves and feelings wouldn't let him feel the cold right now. As they walked Keefe opened the book and looked through its content, "My, my I must say you have some talent in your blood. Thought its a bit raw and uncut I know a few people who would love this type of work... And if you become a business partner of mine I could give you some lessons, I know some tip and trick that could help really hone your skills... That is if your interested in something like that." Keefe said with a smile as he walked closer to the girl, not only to hear what she would have to say but to back away from the man, something was... off about him.

Throwing her braid behind her Elaine followed the dark haired man with a bit of a bounce in her steps. She watched Keefe go though her book, carefully scanning his face for any sign that he didn't like what he saw. She knew that her art wasn't horrible but you still get a little nervous when others view anything you do. Her stage friends were always talking about the butterflies before a performance. That is kind of what this felt like. "No problem!" Elaine waved a hand at the thanks. "Glad you like it. Business partners you say? Well, I don't see any reason not to take up that offer, if you'll have me." Grinning she bent in a small bow. "And I'd love some pointers. It's always nice to learn new tricks of the trade. After all you never truly stop learning." She tapped her finger to the side of her head. Looking upwards she asked, "What are the chances it will snow early?" She glanced at Keefe's very colorful hair. He had gotten closer. She looked around him to Iacomus. He didn't seem to be doing anything odd but he seemed a bit tense. Like a cat who has lost a mouse. She shoved the thought away. Best not to judge character just yet, even if he was a little strange.

"I would gladly talk to you more about lessons and being business partners back in the merchants district, after being shown around a bit and finding out how to get there." Keefe said with a smile as he handed the book back to the girl, "I don't believe I caught either of your names and I would love to know who will be accompanying me on this tour and who will hopefully be my first partner in this town who would be working with." Keefe said as he walked along side the girl, he thought the man may had mentioned her name but he didn't catch it when and if he did say it.
