Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Go!" Danny jumped off the ship as soon as Caitlin asked if he was ready. He angled downward like an arrow and shot through the sky towards the ground. The wind whipped past his face as he drew nearer and nearer to the ground. When he felt he couldn't hold out any longer, he plucked the cord and the parachute blossomed out behind him, whipping him around like a little rag doll. OUCH! Danny winced at the jerk and approached the ground with the help of the parachute. He was going to make it just fine! Or so the boy thought... the cloth of his chute got caught on the corner of the one of the building's and Danny was left dangling above the ground. It was too far for him to just drop, and he didn't really want to advertise to the entire square he was an ander... So the boy was stuck for the time being.

"Aw no fair!" Cait laughed and jumped right after Danny. She started off in a dive like she was headed for water, but soon fanned herself out so she could create more air resistance and get a good look at where she was going. There was definitely a building way too close to their line of approach and - yep! And Danny just got snagged on it. She tried to roll to her side, pushing her a little out of the way,and she pulled the cord. Looking up as the parachute blossomed, she held her breath till its outter most edge cleared the building, but only just by a few inches.
Caitlin unclipped her harness and crawled out of the envelope of her chute. She looked up at Danny, then around her at the people watching. "Anyone have a ladder?" She called out to them.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

Danny looked below him at the ground and squirmed. "Get me down from here!" He thrashed his arms about angrily to no effect. Well, guess he just had to wait... "Hey... Chute-buddy? Can ya get me a croissan' from Mizz Lannever's? She shoul' be open somewhere nearby..." He really needed to visit her again sometime... it'd been too long since he'd seen Mrs. Lannever and Louis.

Thankfully someone nearby had a ladder. They whipped it out of their shop doors and slid it to double its compact height. Caitlin watched as the mechanic climbed up and safely unhooked Danny from his chute. Carefully the two came back down and the crowd that had grown around them applauded the way they would for a fireman saving a baby from a burning building.
"Sorry about your croissant, they were all out," Cait lied blatantly. She and Danny both knew Caitlin hadn't moved an inch to check on the local bakery. "exhilarating, right?" She said, a little too cheerfully. She was trying to stay peppy now that the rush of free falling was over, but in all honestly her mind had drifted back to the docks and the way a certain pirate ran off down the pier before she could say anything to him.

Danny looked very much like a cat that had just been dunked in water. Blasted man didn't do anything but get a ladder. Danny directed him how to take apart the harness, where to provide support so the boy could get over... that man was just the transport. but no... he was going to be a local hro now...
The boy tilted his head as he looked at Cait. "Eh, weren't bad. Wish we'da been higher up. So wha' now? Wanna go find yer boytoy?" Danny unwrapped his scarf and secured it back the way it usually was worn, flashing the barest glimpse of his face beneath before it was hidden once more.

"Sure, but I have no idea where he wen--t" She ground her teeth on the end of that one, realizing too late she'd walked into admitting she had some kind of involvement with Levi. "Not that he's my boytoy, more of like... an acquaintance," She stammered trying to recover.

"Uh-huh... wha'ever ya say..." Danny started walking to one the the alleyways and gestured up. "Well, ya could start at the docks... see if Miste' Eyecandy's back there." Danny made sure his mittens were secured out of the way and dug his fingers into the mortar of the wall as he began climbing. It was easy to see he had a lot of practice at it. The mob of people were too preoccupied with their child-rescuing hero to pay any attention to the vanishing boy. "Way I see it, 'he'll be somewhere b'tween 'ere an' the docks, an' we can find 'I'm on our travel in' path.

Caitlin nodded, but kept her mouth shut in case she incriminated herself any more. She followed Danny up to the rooftops and kept pace as they made their way across the district overhead. She watched the kid closely, and speculated how much of his intel on people was gained from perching in places up here, like this. "Note to self, always look up," she muttered, reminding her that anytime she didn't want to be seen or heard, she needed to check ALL her surroundings.

The slim male has his back pressed against the roof of the poor shanty, his well-kept fingers interlocked with each other as they support Levi's head from touching the material hes laying on. He watches the sky, the light shades of blue being bullied by forms of white, some looking like shapes and objects while others remind him of nothing but rain, and how it feels waking up in a bed you don't own, next to someone you don't know, the air filled with a haze. It's a bit of a rush, and it's a rush his body craved desperately, except in this moment of which Levi would call his 'Limbo'. Catboy sits with one foot pulled up close to his body to offer a resting point for the back of his knee to rest upon the opposite knee so he can bounce his foot in the air as his azure eyes dart from side to side, looking at the scenery above him as his lips part in the slightest of grins, his teeth barely shown as the sunlight glints off the studs in his face. It's calming up here, and he's glad for that. You could say Levi ran from his problems, but more or less he was letting Danny catch-up with Caitlyn...and go sky-diving, boy was that a blast! He wouldn't want anyone to not participate in it.

Danny practically flew across the rooftops as his feet barely tapped the tops to keep him moving. Where was Metal Maw... The boy scanned the rooftops as he wwent, but was more preoccupied with looking down at the streets and alleyways. "Cait, level wit me. What're ya doin' wit metal maw? 'E's bad news no matter 'ow ya look at it. 'E'll be good ina pinch... bbut'... well..." Danny shrugged his shoulders as he went. "I s'pose I jus' don' know 'im well enough ta be a hunnerd percent bout it.Forget I said somethin'." Danny lapsed into silence as he continued hunting for Levi.

Caitlin watched her feet as they ran, making sure not to step wrong and slide off the roof tops. She could catch herself mid air if that was the case, but she hated the idea of witnesses. when Danny said level with me, she automatically responded "OK," but then his follow on question caught her by surprise. She stopped for a second, but then realized Danny wasn't going to so she started moving again.
"He works for me, I dont know... the bad news part of him makes him great for what I have him do, but I've been asking myself the same thing lately, believe me. If I could reason my way through it I would have by now. I guess I just find him... exciting? dangerous? boundless? he seems infinite in a way that other people usually aren't. He doesn't live by constraints unless they please him (like I assume working for me for now pleases him) so he'll abide, but otherwise he won't lose sleep over ignoring the rules." It was the best way she'd put it, even when thinking alone to herself. She felt so constricted by the rules of society, so bound by propriety that she envied him, even though she was the one in charge. It was a strange dynamic, one that he made easy to forget when he looked her eye to eye and didn't exhibit even an ounce of inferiority.

"Tha' makes 'im dangerous, unpredictable, an' unreliable. An' while we migh' as a people roman'acise the idea 'a the rogue, if ever'one were ta live like tha' we'd all be killin' each other an' rapin' ever'thing tha' 'ad a pulse." Danny looked this way and that for Levi. "I ain' sayin' ya should always follow the rules... jus' sayin' tha' some'a the rules're there fer protectin' ourselves as well as others." Danny came to an abrupt halt at the edge of one of the buildings and crouched to keep his balance. "This stays b'tween you an' me. Metal Maw finds out an' 'e won' be quite so friendly no more. 'specially if 'e learns tha' I'ma be lookin' inta 'im ta try an' give ya some leverage. 'cause Caity, ya migh' be an idiot of the 'ighest order, but I like ta think we're at least kinda friend an' I don' like seein' my friends get 'urt." Danny pulled his scarf up higher and tighter before launching himself to the next building with one more sentence. "I ain' gettin' sappy, if tha's wha' yer thinkin'." Danny peered around as he continued his hunt for Levi...

"Noted," Cait single syllable to Danny's assessment of Levi. Things Caitlin had already thought over and again, but what her brain thought and her feelings felt about him were two very detached opinions. "Gee thanks, that sounded an aweful lot like an insult, but since I know you mean well... thanks, for what it is worth, I think of you as a friend too," They were still coasting over the rooftops when Cait caught a figure on the rooftops across the street from where they were running.
"So, now that our parachutes are gone, how do you propose we get over - there?" She asked Danny, and pointed to the sunbathing feline ander on the roof across the road.

"Well, we go' two options for easy travel. One, jus' jump an' attract attention, or two, climb down an' walk over there." Danny shrugged his shoulders as he began his rapid descent. Seems like he's decided. The boy skipped as he landed and started strolling right across to the nearest alleyway on the opposite side of the street. He glanced around not once, not twice, but thrice to make sure no one was paying too much attention, and then quickly scaled the wall. He peaked and went over the lip as quietly as he could and began sneaking towards Levi after holding a finger to where his mouth would be as though saying shooosh. Closer and closer the boy crept, near silent across the roof, before he arrived near Levi and layed down next to him as quiet as possible. Danny'd wait for him to say something when he was ready.

Caity likewise followed Danny down first to the ground level, across the road, and then back up the inner alley wall to the rooftops. Before approaching where Levi and Danny where seated, she ran her fingers through her hair and tried to push the strays out of her face. With as much of a poker face as she was worth, she walked over and took a seat on the side opposite of Danny. She too held her silence, waiting to see if or what Levi would say - considering their parting of ways earlier.
