Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

(OPEN TO EIRAL)
steping off the train on his arrived , a one eyed man , crarrying a sword that had not been seen before , made his way to the barracks recrutment center and approched the desk worker "excues me , i was sent here to join the army, to serve the queen of lodan " he said given his papers to them as well as a note from his former employer to use as a recomondation for joining, he rested his arm on his sword as he waited for information to be sorted out. he didnt know what the place was like as well what would he write back to his familly and friend , he was a fish in a new pond but this was not new to him. finding a steady flow of work was getting harder and his recent employment was nice but tepuery as he was a guard for a prince of a waring land at the time.
never the less he was sure this place would offer up a better expraince and maybe a place to call home when his wife and son cought up with him.
As Roy entered the spacious lobby of the EIRAL HQ, one of the receptionists looked up, a uniformed girl in her mid twenties with lieutenants bars. Her hair was pulled back into a tight bun, giving her a prim and proper military look. She smiled at the man, despite his strange appearance. "Yes Sir, how can I help you? Would you like to report a crime?"

Roy looked at the woman with a "oh one of them types" face , feeling she didn't listen he repeated "hay , am here to join the army, i was sent here under recommendation from my past employer" pushing his papers on the desk to her , hopefully his message got through to her. (yep something tell me its gonna be hell )

Leaving the home she grew up in all her life, Lorraine lifted the hood of her cloak over her head to conceal her face as she made her way to the recruitment office. This should have felt exhilarating or simply like any other time she'd left but this time she was unsure when she'd come back to see her brothers and parents, and this time she didn't escape just to see the city. She was making her way down to the recruitment station today and now she could feel it in her chest, an overwhelming sensation that made her heart want to stop and a lump rise in her throat. Lorraine was scared to leave behind her life she realized. Scared she'd never see her brothers again or even her parents she still loved, even if her mother did nag her. The noble girl wasn't entirely alone, however, at her feet, just at her heels walked her fox, Felix. He was her most treasured companion other than her brothers and although was a silly thing, was well trained to follow commands without the need of vocalization as long as she gave him a hand gesture.
Many people gave her a peculiar look and she judged it was because of her friend. Some people were even scared of it and backed away from her. Soon enough, she reached the center where she held the door open for Felix to enter first. The brilliant little creature waited for her to follow suit and then they both stepped up to the reception next to another man already being helped. She'd removed her papers from a pocket inside of her cloak then looked down to Felix. Her free hand slipped out of her cloak to place her palm above the fox's nose to which the fox obeyed by sitting. With a small smile, she looked up to the receptionist and removed her hood before offering them the papers. "I'm here to join," she added.
The Receptionist looked over the papers from both parties, noting that both had had their blood tests done and were concluded to be full human, though it wasn't unknown for a half blood to pass for human from time to time. She took out a stamp from her belongings on the desk and stamped both sheets with 'Pending.' It wasn't for her to decide who did or did not get into their ranks, though these two were pretty far from par for the course. One with a missing eye and a giant sword while the other had what appeared to be a Fox following her around.
She looked down at her desk again, where a light was flashing red and pressed a button to make it stop before looking up again, "High Commander Skye will see you both now. Take the lift up to the Third Floor and it's the first door on your left."
"finally, thank you" Roy said as he turned walked towards the lift and walked over lift as he rested his arm on his sword hilt , hopefully this will be a smooth meeting , after all having a recommendation from a past employer as well as his paper and noted history of being a great swordsman would appeal in who ever was the commander of this army , before on the other hand while he was where waiting he could not help seeing the lady with the fox who wanted to join the army, impressed that this woman managed to tame a wild fox? or was it just raised from birth with her? never the less it was a fox and a fox to keep his eye on. "kids these days. what will they make a pet of of" he muttered to himself , for now his mind was on the task at hand.

Lorraine swallowed around the lump returning to her throat then looked over to where she was told to go. Her nerves were beginning to get at her and her heart raced. Before she saw the commander she would have to calm them, she knew, or she'd be too uptight to act, too worried to think with a clear head and when trying to impress someone with tactics or fighting skill, she'd have to have her head in the right place. Looking back to the receptionist, she gave a nod and a small, nervous smile. As she took her first steps toward the lift, she waved two of her fingers at the fox to beckon him to follow her. Felix rose onto his black legs and padded along after her until they reached the lift where she met the second candidate to join her on the lift. "Pardon me," she said as Felix made his way into the lift first and then she followed. Third floor, she repeated in her mind then closed her eyes to take in a deep breath and exhale.
Faolan was sitting behind his desk when the pair came in, though it was more for show than anything. An attempt at seeming to be busy and not let them think that he had been standing at the window of his office looking down on them when they had both come in. He'd also laid out their paperwork, as if by magic, though that had more to do with the vacuum tube system that was installed all over the building. As soon as the reception officer had ushered them into the elevator, she'd sent the material on up. They had both passed their medical evaluations, so that was a plus, no Ander blood or markings and they were both skilled in sword combat. They'd have to put in some range hours, but there was time for that yet. There were no wars on the horizon...he hoped.
Well, a strange man with a sword, and a noble woman with a Fox, this would be very interesting. "Please, have a seat," he said, gesturing towards the two empty chairs on the other side of his desk.

Felix stepped off of the lift before Lorraine did and waited for her to exit so he could fall in at her side. The woman took a chance to study the room then the man occupying the desk. She recognized their papers and then when he spoke, her eyes shot to his face. He did not seem overly intimidating but their was no mistaking the air of authority that ensnared him. She felt more relaxed at this and then spared a glance to the other candidate before looking to the offered chairs. She left her cloak on as she made her way to the seat most on the right and Felix came up beside her. Before sitting, Lorraine gave a small bow to the man before her then sat, The fox then lay on the ground waiting for any command she might give. "Good day, Sir," she offered quietly.
"ah hello to you too" Roy said as walked over , detach his sword from his hilt holder and put it to the side as he sat down " it is a honor to meet you sir , i heard a lot of good things about the army here in Lodan" he said as he extended out his arm to shake his hand. "I am Roy Greenheart, you may have heard of me?"
being the ice brake was a hard task to do but Roy was ready , he became so used to it that he was a professional at talking his way to and from things and hopefully he could talk his way to a job.

"Miss Blackmoore," he said after the two had settled in. "Do you make a habit of bringing your pets to all your job interviews?" he asked, attempting to sound serious. He wasn't really, in fact he already had an idea for where to assign the young woman and her fox, but for now he liked to toy a bit with the new recruits, and if that made him seem somewhat larger and more foreboding in the process, well that was a perk.
He then turned his gaze to the one eyed man named Roy, "Sorry Mr. Greenheart, but I've never heard of you," and even if he had he wouldn't have admitted it. People who thought they were already a force to be reckoned with did not do well in his Army. Everyone started at the bottom and worked their way up, it was the way of things. If this man wanted to prove that he was everything his recommendation letters said he was, he would have to prove it to Faolan and his brothers in blue. "Tell me in your own words what it is you think a former Mercenary has to over us?"

the man didnt give him a handshake, he pulled back his hand as he was asked a question "Tell me in your own words what it is you think a former Mercenary has to over us?" , this was a question Roy felt he known for a while as being a former man at arms and a guard had experience " well if i was green i would say experience , a unique way of fighting , years of training as well as a person who adapts quickly to new places and faces , but i feel that the answer you seek is nothing since this army has the best and its better then the best mercenary around, am i right? " Roy said as he sat down and crossed his legs "I am no pup then what you think, i know the drill. if you want to know how experience i am, just you wait and see." he sat back as he knows his ground as well as where he stands , hell if he had to he would take down any needed group or crime if he had to to show this guy he was not a legend for a reason.

Her cheeks colored slightly at the question regarding Felix but she kept eye contact with him still. "Oh, uh, well, he is not just a simple pet," she offered quietly at first then cleared her throat and attempted to speak a bit louder to not seem so meek. "He is quite well trained and never misbehaves. He is a great hunter and tracker just like any other dog. I... well, this is my first interview anywhere, honestly." Lorraine spared a glance at her fox who looked up at her then she looked back to Foalan Skye. She could not help but fret now over her decision of bringing the fox but she already had to leave behind her family and she did not want to leave behind her friend. As Skye's attention turned to the man beside her, she looked at him from the corner of her eyes then looked down at her hands folded in her lap.
Well she's a meek one, he thought to himself. That would have to change. He just hoped her proclaimed skills with a sword and her tracking ability were not some fabrication from an upper class spoiled princess. Lord knew he'd had enough of spoiled princesses lately given the little ringer that Caitlin and her father had put him through. He sat back in his chair, in an almost relaxed posture but anyone who wanted to take advantage of that perception would have been sorely mistaken. "You both realize that once you take the oath and put on the uniform that you are part of this organization. I need to make that abundantly clear, especially after some recent events. While you may have friends and family outside of these walls, you renounce your claim upon them and their claim upon you. You become part of this family, sworn to protect Lodan and everyone within her borders. To break this Oath is to become an enemy to the state and a deserter for which the crime is death. You both had lives before this, but that is at an end. This is a fresh start."

"I understand, sir," came her reply to his words and she lifted her head to meet his eyes. Her father had warned her how hard military life was and that she should not take it for some sort of joke like the lessons her mother had her undergo to be some proper prize for so some lord to claim her, though to lie to herself and say she was not scared would be foolish. Then again, when she studied the man before her once more she was uncertain of what to expect. He did not seem particularly harsh yet he did not give off an air of leniency either and for the life of her she could not gauge just what sort of man he would be. Despite these thoughts, there was a reason this man sat in that seat and why she sat where she was at present, a would be soldier. Lorraine was snapped from her thought when she felt a nudge at her thigh and looked down to see Felix's nose pressed against her. The fox looked at her for a moment before the woman placed her hand on top of his head to assure him all was well. His comfort allowed her to speak more evenly as she asked the authority before her, "we will be able to see and write to them at times, correct? When we are off duty?"
