Hey guys!
So...it's not that all surprising for me to say that activity has been...slow. But with people moving, the upcoming holidays, and other real life shenanigans, it makes perfect sense. As such, we're going to declare that we will be restarting around the start of next year (around the January/February time frame, schedule pending). So go out and have fun with friends and family, we'll come back after the holidays are done.
So what do we have planned for 2018? To start, we hope to do these types of updates more frequently. Dubbed, "Pardon our dust," we hope to bring you guys some insight as to what we have planned, as well as previews of things to look forward to, sort of like what other mmo's/moba's tend.
Additionally, there will be a revamp to the skill trees. We're hoping to rebalance and ultimately change/adjust certain skills. While the last major skill change saw an overall adjustment to both skill trees, there was a little more emphasis on the Tech Tree (in my biased opinion at least). With this upcoming change, while the Tech Tree is still getting a small face lift (again, biased opinion), there will be more of an emphasis on the Magic Tree and augments in general. While we're still in the brainstorming phase, we'll be looking at more flexibility in casting magic, as well as giving each tree their own identity. More on that in the future.
That being said, the timing of the skill change will impact the timing of the upcoming (delayed) event. While I definitely want to keep it as much of a surprise as I can, I will say (as I mentioned before) that this is going to be a heavy PvE event. As also mentioned before, we're going to attempt to try out some mechanics that should allow for more interaction from the mods and thus more action from you guys. Don't worry, we'll have another Skill Merchant visit, plus ample time to get more EMP, before we begin this event. The goal would be to get this event out during the month of February, but again, that will depend on the skill revamp and when we'll have that done.
Finally, we're going to be looking into new ways of earning EMP, as well as adjusting the overarching goal/feel for our RP site as a whole. Currently, I would describe Lodan as more of a "slice of life" type of RP. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that we're all working towards skills, but nothing to use them on (outside of ourselves, but really, we don't have a lot of PvP either). Thus, with the upcoming new system, not only will you be able to truly show off your well-earned skills, but you'll be contributing to the City of Lodan and influencing certain events, all while being rewarded. More on that in the future.
