Open to Amon
Today was the day.
Sienna had been working on this old project of hers since she’d gotten back. It had been a long, hard process, trying to recall her original plans, finding the parts she needed and all the clean up and tuning she’d had to do after it had sat for all that time, untouched.
Now the beautiful scooter sat before her. Polished and gleaming. Each part was looked upon fondly as she made one last check on everything. Screws she recalled putting in when she was in tears, those times she’d been so scared after a nightmare had woken her up. The moments where she almost felt hole when she accomplished something.
Now all her sweat, her tears along with some blood stood before her, finished and strong. She felt stronger too. More whole than she had in such a long time. She still had some problems. She might always have them. But she knew now that none of that was going to keep her from doing what she loved.
A soft bump at her leg drew her gold eyes down to the flamingo who was eager to get on with this. She patted his head gently and shook her own. “Sorry Mingo, we gotta wait, I told Amon I was gonna give this baby a test ride. I don’t wanna be alone in case ti explodes.” She added the last part teasingly. No way was anything she made going to blow up. Two years of hell wasn’t enough to snuff out her love of technology and her expertise in it.
He should show up any time soon though, she wasn’t worried about waiting a little while though. She was seated outside her old home, in a less busy side street. Watching people come to and fr and enjoying the sounds of the city. She was spending more and more time on her own these days. It was nice. Not that she didn’t appreciate her friends help but she had always been partial to her alone time, even as a child.
Now she just needed to wait. She’d dropped off a small, but semi-formal invitation to Amon in hopes he would come and see. She wasn’t ready for a crowd just yet and knew Amon would appreciate the work she’d put in being a mechanic himself. Both him and Edel had done so much for her, it was time she start repaying them.
