Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"Well then," Amon replied, standing up and offering his hand. "Lead the way."

"That would be simpler if I knew for sure where he is." She stood up as well, cleaning some inexistent dust from her trousers and taking his offered hand before moving towards the door. "But he should be on this floor at least still." Amethyst wouldn't take the Feline too far at the very least...

That was a bit of an understatement; a few moments later, the duo passed by what looked like a kid's party, with their target currently being dragged away from the window by a number of kids.
"...You got to be kidding me...after all that talk about how I shouldn't 'run away,' you're trying to climb out of a window," Amon said flatly.
"Seriously, would it be okay if I punch him?" he asked, turning to Edel.

"Why is it that people randomly punching each other today seems even vaguely acceptable..." Edelweiss facepalmed - both at Amon's question and at what Sayvahn was doing... actually, what was Sayvahn doing? Or all of them doing, even?
"What on earth are you all doing?"

Well, being carried away by children from an open window had not been on Sayvahn’s to do list that day. Neither had been punching Amon, or climbing out of said window, but well, life was unpredictable like that. “Oh, just let me wallow in my own misery,” Sayvahn groaned as they pulled him inside. “And besides, I’m not that dumb to try form the fifth floor. Liam is a fool— we’ve discussed this, I’m sure.” Grumbling, Sayvahn held out the pillow for Almandine to take, only to retract it as he saw two very familiar adults approaching. Oh good lord. “Kids, huddle position!” Sayvahn yipped, trying to gather the kids around him and using the pillow as a shield. “The tin reaper has come for me!” The feline hissed, preparing to toss his “shield” at the taller man if need be. “I was prepared to leave, but they wouldn’t let me. I was perfectly— okay maybe not perfectly— content with leaving, with leaving you two alone, but the kids wouldn’t let me and then there was juice and food and I was sobbing, and you know how it is. You sob. You get thirsty. You sob some more. You get hungry. So on and so forth. But um. Yes. Me, leaving. I’ll get to that,” Sayvahn stammered, trying to move the circle of kids with him as he tried to edge away, but never breaking from their protective barrier in case Amon did deicide to attack him.

"...For the love of farce..." Amon muttered, facepalming as well. "You're just as bad as Wern..."
"My point still stands," he said, slowly lowering his hand. "You barged in, punched me, forcibly dragged out a topic without asking if it was okay to even bring up to begin with, and then when confronted, you now run away," he continued, his irritation rising.
"I thought you were better than that...after all, running away without a word is rather very unbecoming..."

"......What... No, forget it, I'm not even going to comment." Edelweiss sighed. No. No point in asking what was going through the Feline's head. Or why he'd been sobbing. Or why the children were throwing a party. It was actually better if she doesn't ask, and there was another question to make. "Sayvahn, to start with, let me ask: Why are you leaving?"
At the statement about Sayvahn being worse than Wern, Pearl lazily glanced up from her cup of juice to Amon, then to Sayvahn, then back to the juice and shrugged. Nothing else. Though the other children varied in regards to how they were (or weren't) acknowledging the mechanic's presence. Some were avoiding his glance, and others were meeting it straight. About those who were staring back... thankfully eyeing something does it no harm, lest they'd be drilling holes into his skull.

Straightening, Sayvahn frowned. Then he threw his shield at Amon. “Excuse me? I told you I was leaving. And I wanted to leave. Except these kids wouldn’t let me. And do you really have room to patronize me? At least I gave some word. I blatantly said, hey, I’m leaving. Bye, unlike you Mr. Let’s Burn a body. Yeah. Read that in the papers. Great note to leave. Must have gone very well with the Lady,” Sayvahn hissed, though, to Edelweiss question, he softened. His features, his voice, they all darkened, becoming but a sliver of his former self. Looking down at the ground he sighed, leaning back against the wall as the children still huddled around him. “I wanted to leave because I figured it would be better. I already made my mark. Already messed it up, as the tin man has reiterated. I know when I shouldn’t linger, that I betrayed our trust and friendship. I just wanted you to be happy, and I knew that would mean…. No. I guess I didn’t know that would mean risking our friendship,” Sayvahn confessed, folding his hands. “I just… value your happiness— even with him— over…. My own I guess. Which left me with only one option.” Flourishing to the window, the elder feline bit his lip in defeat. “To leave— so, without further adieu, I— I think I should return to that action.”

"Sayvahn, can you calm down a bit and relax, please?" She rubbed the bridge of her own nose. "Not saying your behavior there is not seriously debateable. But do you really think we'd stop being friends over it? I'm not that petty. ...Also, Amon has a name and it's not 'tin man', please use it properly."

Amon stood there for a moment, his irritation threatening to boil over into rage, before finally taking a deep breath and calming down.
"...Whatever...above all else, I am just so tired of your drama Sayv," he sighed, moving to sit onto one of the couches, ignoring the kids that moved away from him as he did. He rubbed his temples for a bit before sitting back, staring at the ceiling.
"...Honestly...this has gone from a therapy session between me and Edel to a therapy session between you and us..."

Frowning, Sayvahn waved his hands toward Amon. “Nicknames, Edelwiess. Nicknames!” Calming down somewhat, Sayvahn folded his arms. “And you aren’t petty. But, I don’t know. I figured that it would be, I don’t know. Better if I left?” Actually, it would have been better. The tin man was going to boil over. Sayvahn could see it. And that, that made Sayvahn’s frown deepen. “My drama? I’m sorry, but didn’t you cause this in the beginning, dear sir? Mr. Let’s-light-a-body-on-fire-and-disappear-for-three-months?” Pouting, Sayvahn held onto his glass, regretting slightly flinging his shield so early in the game. “This isn’t a therapy session. This is a conversation. If this was my therapy session, dearie, then there would be a lot more sex involved….,” Sayvahn stated, glaring at the taller man.

"I gotta question what kind of therapy is that you're thinking of..." Pearl squinted. Oh wait, she knew what it was, he was probably getting 'treated' by that florist old lady addicted to vibrators. That should explain it.
Edelweiss couldn't think of any other course of action other than facepalming. "...Look, I can't tell you how to feel about someone else, and I'm flattered that you care about me enough to be angry on my behalf - but you're seriously going overboard and if you have any hints of consideration for me then please also treat him with respect. All of you."

"...You were right Edel...this may have been a mistake..." Amon muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, every ounce of willpower being used to remain calm.
"Well...since there's only one person in this room who still likes me," he continued, turning his attention to Edel, ignoring Sayvahn at this point. "Should I stay here, or should I step out, let everyone cool their heads..."
"...Maybe see Holly for a little bit..." he added quietly.

"......." She thought about the options plus Amon's quiet request in silence for a couple seconds before turning to look at the cildren.
"Ame, may you guide him there?" The dark-haired girl merely nodded and stood up from the couch, and only noticed she was still holding the bowl of scones on top of her paperwork blotters after being already midway across the room. Her solution? Instead of turning back to place it on the coffee table, she held the bowl out for Edelweiss to take and kept walking for the door. The redhead sighed, then went to place the scones back herself.
"And another of you with free time... It's really tea time, so please go check on Spinel. Seems like I'll be late today." Since she and Sayvahn still needed to have a talk. "'Kay, I can do that."

As Amon followed Amethyst out the door, he paused for a moment to hold and gently squeeze Edel's hand.
"Thanks," he told her softly, giving her an odd half smile, somewhere between gratitude and an apology. "Be back in a bit."
A second later, he let go and was out the door, releasing a small sigh as he exited the room.
