Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Hi guys,
so as many of you may know (or maybe not) I along with Wern are cinema students at VCU. One of my goals that I've mentioned in passing on occasion via skype has been a graduation goal
That grad goal is to produce "the CoG" (city of gears) movie , based on Lodan! After I graduate VCU with all my glorificient movie makin' skillz
This naturally means communicating with and acquiring permissions from you lovely people (a release form will be available - eventually - at some point - when its ready - and stuff)
The lodan game guide (an anthology of lodan history) is going to be one of my handy resources to pulling this off
but none of it is possible without the support of our community.
So.
Who wants to make a movie?

Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin

thats the most important part, I can't do any of it if I dont have your (the whole communities) permission to use their characters and take "Creative license" with interpreting them for the film.
I'll also need everyones help promoting the kick starter when its time to start one - so that we can hit up all the steampunk fandoms, cosplayers, web-communities, etc. to support our efforts to make a steam-punk feature film
its going to cost a lot to make (themes like this are not cheap) but there is a huge community out there for it! And we can advertise at renn fares, comicons, other RP groups, places like Tumblr and Imgur. etc. to find our audience!
Oh! and one thing we can do sooner than later (if someone has the free time for it) is put together a height comparison scale for our characters (incl. the old GL's like Ella and Jak, they're pretty important) so that when its time to do casting, we have a good idea of how people should look next to one another.

well, you have my permission if you ever want to use Vieka. I think the only thing i would ask is that you keep her face covered to keep the mystery of the character x3

Ya'll are amazing, and we have so much time to prep there is no rush (seriously, I have to graduate first) but I've been gathering my associates and pitching a business proposal to them with a 2 year plan to get us off the ground and into a feature film tentatively called "the C.O.G." (City of Gears) So far so good Just wish me luck with the rest of my recruitment! We're doing everything we can to set ourselves up to go from dream to reality with this one! I'll post up anything that I could use community help with as it occurs to me all I ask is for you to keep an eye on this thread
Once we're nearing the end of my courses and the beginning of our project launch I'll need everyones help spreading the word to the steampunk community (on tumblr, fb, twitter, instagram; at rennfairs and comicons, on forumns and to steampunk artisans) so that we can build our audience and get the backing we need from financial donars to our crowdfunding campaign AND what is just as useful if not better than money is to get donations from steampunk merchandisers to send their materials to our studio to include in the film: steampunk costumes, props, set decor, etc.
I already collect pieces here and there on my own, and I purchased 3 wardrobes this week that are steampunk cancan dresses for extra's in the Theater District (they will come in handy)! Film is my career, and Im am absolutely 100% going after this project, it would be my dream to make Lodan a feature. (the two plain ones are the backup dancers, and the more ornament corset is for the lead) And if you see @azovseraph or Jacob online tell them hi! They're apart of my production team and they're going to learn as much about Lodan as they can I know Azov is extremely excited to be working on this project! thanks guys!!! Keeping eyes on places we can go and spread the word of Lodan! Not just the film, but the writing community too! There are so many events based around our genre that are looking to celebrate its growth and expansion that we could be tapping into so that Lodan reaches a wider audience of like-minded RPers

I feel it is almost obligatory to share this here igg.me/at/DOSuperstition to not only show you our method for crowd funding, but to share our progress as filmmakers as well!! Please check it out, share it online and help us to continue up our cinematic growth so that we may soon achieve feature length film and produce the City of Gears!
