Human
The vast majority of the population in Lodan, humans were the ones who built the city from nothing and the first ones to call Lodan home. They are seen as the higher, more dominant race, more likely to be hired in more important jobs (For example, working for royalty.) They have a firm grasp of technology and have always excelled in this area. The max age for a human lies within the 100 year range. Traditional Victorian Era Human names can be found under circa 1840's-1890's
Andersweltler
The demon race that hailed from another realm, andersweltlers are seen as a lower and secondary race. Humans are still prejudiced against them, due to which many andersweltlers will keep their race a secret to be more accepted by society, which in turn helps them to get better paying jobs. They are masters of magic and have always used it in their way of life. They can live to a maximum 120 years, if they have led a healthy lifestyle. Quite a few andersweltlers just want to be accepted by the humans, whereas many others want to overthrow them. Traditional Andersweltler names can be found under Simple Interface Short Names
Technology has a habit of breaking in Andersweltler hands - of being defunct or malfunctioning. You could get someone to build it for you, but then it would be ineffective most of the time. Myth says just like the humans, they could use it once upon a time ago... but its like now technology has this allergy or aversion to them, and it wont function right for them. Characters are welcome to try and cross that threshold, but it will be in vain (fun perhaps, but in vain nonetheless).
There are 3 different types of Andersweltlers:
Feline Andersweltler
This race is more adapted for speed. They are agile, very good climbers and have remarkable balance. Their finger and toe nails are claw-like, which they may either use as weapons or to aid in scaling heights. The one distinct feature of a feline andersweltler is their eyes, which glow at night or in the dark. They do not have fur, or cat ears or tails; they look like many normal human beings on the outside and can easily conceal their claws under gloved hands and booted feet.
Winged Andersweltler
The main feature of this race is very long and grand wings; they are feathered and any resemble any avian species. Many andersweltlers hide their wings with magic when in public, and upon doing this, the wings transform into a tattoo on their backs. This is a spell that causes great uneasiness for them, as they feel trapped on the ground: just imagine being a three plane creature limited to movement on only two. Instead of your natural instinct to move forward and backward, left and right, up and down, under this spell you can only move forward and backward or left and right, strictly on the ground.
General Andersweltler (also known as Velvets)
This race is the closest to humans in appearance, although there is a certain air about general Andersweltlers. Many are considered beautiful and can charm people easily. The one thing that makes them stand out from humans is that when harmed, their blood runs black rather than red, which causes them to be very cautious around people. So much as a papercut could ruin a lifetime of a hard-earned alias.
Half Breeds
A cross between humans and andersweltlers, they can excel in technology or magic, but not both; it depends on whether the human or andersweltler genes are dominant in them. They usually aren’t accepted in either race, which causes them to be outcasts unless their half-breed heritage is kept a secret. If their human parent’s gene is more dominant, they will look like a human, which means they will be more accepted amongst that race. Depending on the race of the andersweltler parent, if their gene is more dominant in the child, the child will inherit one of three features: Black blood of a general andersweltler, glowing eyes of a feline andersweltler or wings of a winged andersweltler.
