The young thief wandered around the costume shop, looking over the various outfits and clothes on offer. The Hallows Eve was coming up and apparently the Baroness wanted everyone in the guild to get all dressed up or at least that was what the word on the street was. Best to not take my chances anyways… mused Ikuze as she ran her hand down a particularly brightly patterned gown. “Ah, a fine choice dear lass.” The shop-owner said as he came across her. “Nothing finer than appearing to the world as one of the nobility, and might I say, a fine looking princess you would make.” He said with a well-meaning chuckle before he walked away to see to other patrons. A princess? Heh, that’d be the day… the thief girl thought to herself, although her mind’s eye did linger on the possible image that was presented to her before she went to look around some more.
She raised an eyebrow at an outfit that caught her eye and went over to inspect it. There was a wide-brimmed hat with a pointy bit on it, the skirt was jagged and torn looking, as were the sleeves… and it came with a leather corset that Ikuze could swear was designed to boost breasts or something. “Ah, a classic for this time of year, although a slight faux paux in some circles given the rampancy of magic in Lodan and the world.” The shop owner said as he suddenly appeared next to the young lady, spooking her. “Gah! How did… never mind… Classic?” asked Ikuze. The old man nodded. “Indeed. This is a witch’s costume my dear. A woman of dark magics and enchantments.” He explained before wandering over to see to other customers. The thief looked at the costume again with this new information. A witch hunh? she mused before going to take another look around.
Ikuze spotted something that at first she thought to just be a random piece of cloth that had fallen from the princess costume, but on closer inspection was an actual costume itself. It had a pair of… see through trousers that were made from some kind of cloth, a top that resembled a brassier more than any actual shirt, a pair of sleeves made from the same see through material, and there was a strip of the transparent cloth that she guessed went over the face or something. “What’s this?” the thief mused aloud as she felt the material. It was so soft, almost like the silks she’d cut from noble ladies garments to get at the jewels. “That my dear is a design hailing from the Middle East.” The shop-keeper said as he walked by. “It’s said that the kings there have dozens of women dressed so, for his entertainment. Dancing, acrobatics, pleasures. Harem girls I believe they’re called.” He said, looking the thief over as if imagining her in the costume in question, before beating a hasty retreat when she caught him doing so. The musician looked once more at the costume. Hmm… maybe if I wanted to draw a bigger crowd for a gig or something… or if the Baroness decided to ever head out east… contemplated Ikuze before looking around some more.
The thief raised an eyebrow as she spotted something and went over to look. She had to suppress a giggle and instead facepalmed at the sight of the outfit, her mind already picturing herself wearing it. It was a Royal Maid’s costume, complete with headpiece, apron, gloves, bodice and the rest. “An interesting choice dear,” said the shop-keeper, “not many go with the role of a servant at this time of year. Although they usually work best when paired with another’s costume. Perhaps a friend of yours? Although, you seem to already have part of it already.” he asked before leaving her to her business. That line of thought brought a question to her mind. If this whole dress up thing is right… then what’s the Baroness going as? Ikuze looked at the outfit once more, a hand going to the black and white laced choker around her throat. Guess it would be kinda funny… I do work for her anyways after all… she mused before going to look for other ideas.
Ikuze sighed as she leaned against a wall in the shop. She’d walked around here for what felt like hours and all she could think about were four specific costumes. But she only had enough to get one of them… she could always steal the others but didn’t really have anywhere to put them, or carry them if she did. Princess, Maid, Witch, or Harem… which one do I pick?!
((OOC: Well well well, seems young Ikuze is in a bind. Which costume will she decide upon for the upcoming festivities here in Lodan? That is where you, yes you, and you, and you hiding in the corner there, come in. You get to decide her fate! Vote for what you’d like to see the musical thief to wear before the 20th of October. Once the votes are in, that is her fate sealed to whichever outfit the forum decides. Cast your votes now! ... now how do I go about turning this into a damned poll.... *hunts for the buttons*))
