Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Elaine's posture relaxed a bit. Seems the worrisome part was past. She actually smiled at the offer turning to the man with kind, yet curious, eyes. "That sounds like a good idea to me." She nodded.
The stranger took back the bag, and Wern thought that was it. That she would walk away with a scornful step. He had accused her of stealing. There was no other option to follow aside from an angry parting. But apparently there was. The offered drink made his heart soften a bit. His brain told him no, that it was a bad idea, but he needed it. Perhaps, subconsciously, he had been walking to his own pub to escape what lived at his home. Maybe a drink was the best idea. Maybe. Sniffling a bit, he nodded, pushing his hat further down on his head, as if to hide himself. “Indeed.” He stated. He knew not what else to say. Aside, from, perhaps his name. “The name’s Wern, by the way.” Normally, he would follow up with an apology, but, his mind still told him no. That maybe as time passed, he would ask for forgiveness but as of right then, the wound was still too sharp, too fresh, to ask such a thing. “May I ask for your names?”

Zona smirked some as the man asked about their names, "Nice to meet ya Wern." Zona said as she shoved her hands in her pockets, and turned to begin to walk off, "Hope ya understand but as far as you will know the name is Z." Zona said with a light smirk, not ready to give up her full name to the man, just because of what just went down, though if things got better after a few drinks well... One would just have to wait and see. "Come one, the place is just around the corner."

"My name is Elle." Elaine smiled at him, she wasn't going to give her name out either. Just for precautions and in the meantime mentally stapled Z's initial to the forefront of her mind. Ah, the life of an assassin. Never on a first name basis. "It's a pleasure to meet you." She gestured in the general direction of Z to ask her to show the way. "Lead the way."
The false name was understandable, but it made Wern shrink even more. He lowered his head, ashamed. Perhaps a drink was not the best idea. But he had already accepted. Nodding in response, he followed Z, taking glances at Ellie, unsure of it was proper for him to say, “Nice to meet you.” It was the normal follow up, but he was too weary, too confused, to say much more. And frankly, he wasn’t sure if he was “pleased.” Especially with what had led up to the situation. His mistrust was as thick as his sobriety at the moment, but maybe a few drinks would melt away the unease, and the wall. Yet, his headache continued to burn his temple, and he wondered if he should sponsor a conversation, but argued against it, merely following behind the blue haired individual.

The group made it to the pub in no time, since it was just around the corner, and after entering and finding a place to sit Zona looked over to the bar to call someone over, "Hey!" Zona called out as a waiter held up a hand, showing that the group had been seen. "Well..." Zona said as she tried to start up some kind of conversation, after all this silence that happened on the way over was just awkward. "Have you been in this town long or ya just get here?" Zona asked, Looking over to see if the waiter was on his way yet.

Elaine followed trailing along the opposite side of Zona. She patiently looked around trying to decide what to say to the stranger next. But just as she was about to say something Zona spoke first. The girl smirked slightly at the timing and turning the attention of her ear on them while her eyes flittered about the room. Never quite landing on one face but scanning over many. Her gaze finally returned to her companions and the wait for drinks.
The trip to the bar was as awkward as Wern had imagined it to be, and even more so as the blue haired woman haggled the waiter over. Yet, the woman was told to wait, as they should. Other people were obviously being served. Or maybe not as obviously. He couldn’t tell, nor did he care as much at the moment, considering his funds, and the growing lack of them. He wondered if he would have to take his normal three glasses and just go for one— and something strong at that. Taking the other side of Z, Wern shrugged at her question. “Two and a half months. Maybe three. Came from the countryside. You?” He asked, letting his warm fingers rest against the countertop.

"I've lived here basically my whole life, or at least since I was little..." Zona said as she thought back to when she first came to the city, it truly had been a long time. As Zona looked off to the side the waiter was finally on his way over to the groups table, "What would you lot like?" The man asked as he pulled out a pad of paper. "Hm..." Zona said as she thought about what she wanted, "I'll do just a beer, maybe something stronger later." She said as she turned to look over to Elaine some.

"You really haven't had much time to explore the city then have you?" Elaine mused from her side of Zona. The dark haired girl flashed a small smirk in his direction before turning to the waiter. Listening to Zona's request she nodded slightly. "I'll have the same." She probably wouldn't end up drinking the whole thing anyways. She gave Z a quirky smile.
With the arrival of the waiter, Wern ordered his own special drink, asking for the cheapest liquor, but one with a little kick. He liked things a little bitter, even more so then beer. And he kind of wanted a punch, at least then. Especially with that girl’s smile. Elle, her name was?
Wern nodded. ”Yeah. I’m still trying to get to know the town a bit more. But before, it was difficult with the mandate and all that. But now with the threat of mortars?” Running a hand through his hair, he let out a sigh. “I try to avoid getting out as much as I can.” Except for the beer and food runs, he realized. That, and his jobs, but even that was slowly ebbing a bit, though, he had gotten quite a few requests of the morbid kind lightly. Please, a doll of my deceased child, an ornamental casket for my baby, a reliquary for my husband. The list went on and on, and he hated it. “How are you two holding up?”

"Ehhh the biggest thing that affected me was that drat curfew... But other than that the mortars don't really bother me." She said with a shrug as the waiter took their orders and walked off. Zona watched some as the man did before turning and looking back at the group, "Ya just need to know how to ignore the noise." Zona added, looking around and over to Elaine some to hear her input.

"I'm rarely out past the curfew anyways." She gave Z a glance that held a hint of mischief. Elaine was an assassin, just as her partner (in crime, haha!), but she kept a lot of what she did closely guarded and well hidden. Elle wasn't fond of taking jobs without planning for them first. She was weary after getting in trouble with their guild leader for being seen on her first mission. And the mechanic that caught her still wasn't entirely on her good side. Call it a grudge if you like. But that was besides the point. "She's right, the mortars aren't really that bad once you get around the "loud" part of it. I've gotten to where I readily expect it now."
Grunting, Wern wondered where the drinks were. It seemed like he was going to need them sooner then expected. Their answers sounded like typical Lodanite answers— ones that faced something so morbid so aloofly. How were these people so easily able to get used to something so morbid so quickly? “How does one ignore a loud explosion?” Wern tried to laugh, but it was strained, coming off more of a question then a joke. “Though, I guess the noise isn’t what people fear, I guess. Just what happens with that noise.”

"You can ignore the noise when its off in the distance, it gets weird once the noise is comin' from above you." Zona said with a shrug as she noticed the waiter coming back. He placed the drinks on the table, "Just wave me down if you all need anything else." He said before turning and walking over to another table. Grabbing her beer Zona took a sip from it before letting out a light sigh, "I suppose the longer you live here the easier things like this get... It is a messed up city after all and with all the dung that happens well... A few loud noises are nothin'." She added taking another sip.
