Something heavy is thrown against the doors of a tavern. Some patrons are seen bursting out of said doors and running away in abject terror. Inside, a violet-eyed woman held a man up against a wall by the collar of his shirt. "I heard you say you knew someone who used to be in the group called the Black Wolves," Faye growled into the man's face. "Now who might that be?"

Caitlin was ducked behind the bar, it had taken two full seconds of eye flirting to get the bartender to even let her back there to hide next to him... two full seconds is like twenty heartbeats when violence is involved. Peering over the countertop she watched with avid interest to the commotion at hand
Bloodletter He chewed on his apple contemplating philosphy, Why am I here, Am I just a cosmic coincidence? or is there really a god? deciding everything that I do A large commotion snapped him out of philisophical state. He stood up, chewing on his apple and trying to peer across a building in his way, He gave up on stretching his neck out. he tossed the rest of his apple and jumped to the next building, Hoisting himself over the ledge and rolling to the edge peeking his head just barely over the top of the building watching, Sneaky like a ... sneaky something...
The man, who in fact did look like the sort of good-for-nothing that might like to brag about associating with the big bad criminals, let out a gurgle and said, "C-c-can't tell you, woman. It's against the rules. And w-who the hell're you, anyway?"
"Black wolves?" Cait whispered absently to the bartender at her side, but he shook his head to indicate he didn't have a clue... and more than that, his expression and standoffishness said he didn't want to know. Cait frowned at him... what a pansy she thought. Cait was certainly curious
Bloodletter He could barely hear them, and there didn't seem to be any flashing weapons. Blood slowly started slithing backwards away from the ledge. "nothing to do here" he said to himself. He sat on the ledge of the building looking down into the alleyway, He could see his apple, half eaten, 'still plenty of meat on that bone' he bit his lip "what a pity"
Faye: She stared the man in the eyes, before finally speaking again. "You don't actually know them, do you." It was more of a statement than a question. With an exhale of breath, she lowered the man enough for his feet to touch the floor. Before he could sigh in relief, however, she turned and threw him out the open door. "Don't go around talking about things you don't know, you idiot." The white-haired woman sat back down at the bar with a disappointed sigh, not even paying attention to the stares she was getting.
Caitlin: Well that was interesting, she thought while dusting off her skirt and moving back around to the patrons side of the bar. Upon return to normalcy or a desperate charade of such, the bartender actually had the nerve to ask for her name. "You're pathetic," she told him without a touch of kindness and turned to go. this is why I became a pirate, she thought, because I'll never find an interesting partner living on the inside of society thats for drat sure.
Bloodletter He jumped down the side of the building like a streak of grey hitting the ground with out a sound, picking up his apple, and holding it in his hand, He walked out into the street looking for an engine or waste disposal unit, somewhere to toss it.
Caitlin: walking out of the bar without looking back, Cait marched up the road. She was feeling irritated, intrigued yet frustrated... so many things eluded her lately, and the one thing that wouldn't she didn't want... her father- pressuring her to marry a boy he approved of... eww
Bloodletter He tipped the edge of his hood to a passing girl, and turned the corner still looking for a garbage receptical. A man's whistling could be heard in the distance.
Cait: gave a little bob of her head in acknowledgement of a hooded figure wearing golden chest armor over red and black attire. She continued walking, still fuming over the situation before it hit her what she saw, then turned searching for him in the street. THAT had been someone her father wouldn't approve of, and that was the kind of people Cait found most interesting.
Bloodletter "really?" Blood thought aloud, "Not a single trash bin?" Blood tossed the apple up into the air and caught it again. "I guess I can litter, Just this once" He winded up a throw and tossed the apple over a distant building. He thought to himself maybe there was a garbage bin somewhere and he had just ruined his chance of finding it, this seemed to happen a lot... His ear caught a small tune, it was that whistling. He turned his head around looking for the source of it. He slowly moved himself into a dark corner.his hand laid on the butt of his revolver.
Freestyle was almost frantically riding his skatecycle down the street, looking this way and that for signs of their missing guild leader, Clue. Since he had shown the letter from Clue's 'kidnappers', almost the entire guild had gone into an uproar and were now searching all over the city to look for her. 'It would be dangerous if other guild's found out about the state we're in, let alone the guild.' he thought with a serious look on his. He took a few deep breathes in attempt to look calm as he continued down the streets.
Lou: No pay but under the promise of drink, she'd come to find herself working for a portside pub. Curled and wedged about some steamy pipes hidden beneath the tavern, she wiped her forehead and set to work fixing a busted boiler and whatever other imperfections she could find. From beneath everything, she could hear people walking about as well as civilians passing along the streets and alleys from the small barred windows of the basement. "Chattering dolts," she mumbled, moving further into the piping and away from it all.
Caitlin: was so busy back tracing her steps that she let herself get narrow sighted and nearly run over by a skatecycle. "Hey watch-" she started but then snapped out of it "Free?" she began to ask but he was moving so fast she doubted he'd heard.
Faye: Figuring she had had enough of that tavern (and feeling sorry for her outburst), she left and meandered down the street towards the docks. On the way there she saw a familiar form skulking in the shadows. Wondering what he might be up to, she took a detour and wound around the building to sneak up on the man from behind.
Bloodletter The whistling stopped, Bloodletter had sweat dripping down the side of his head. His eyes darted from building to building. he slowly backed up closer to the shadows, planning an escape route in his head, he turned his head and saw her, The White haired girl from the incident before. He stood up, and stepped out of the shadow, He was safe now, No way an Agent would dare to attack while he was with company.he started walking towards the girl.
Freestyle: *He had not seen that he had passed Caitlin due to the worry in his mind. However, he did notice a few other assassin's who usually stayed in the shadows moving in the open. Well, more like many assassins would be out in the streets until Clue was found. Part the male hoped that he would find a fellow assassin and ask for any updates on the seach*
Lou Still working diligently as ever, she cringed and bit back a hiss as a particularly hot coil brushed against her leg. The leggings shielded it from burns, but heat was heat and fairly uncomfortable. It was a bit of a wonder how she managed to twist herself into her current position, but she seemed to have no problem working all wrapped around the piping. With a few more moments of tinkering, the boiler was fixed. Now all that was left was making her way out of the maze of pipes and up to the storefront to get a drink.
Caitlin had lost sight of both men she was looking for, and considered today one of her most irritating yet. "maybe I should just go back to the bar and have another shot" she considered
Faye: "Oh, you noticed me," she said, when the man turned around and started heading in her direction. "Who were you hiding from...?"
Bloodletter "Hiding?" Blood scoffed "I was searching for soemthing I had dropped... this here coin" He flipped a coin out of nowhere rolling it on his knuckles, as he slowly made his way closer to the uniformed lady. "Say, How would you like a drink? You could blow off some steam, methinks?" he smiled through his dark mask.
Caitlin: stormed back into the bar, back to the counter where the bartender she ticked off earlier was still working. He gave her a snotty look, but she didn't care. "Wiskey," she ordered, "double shot"
Faye Her eyes brightened at the sight of the coin trick. At his question, she tilted her head and peered at the darkened sky in vague curiosity. "Hm... I already went to one of the taverns up the street..." She looked at him again with a sweet smile. "But if you pay for a drink or two, I wouldn't mind going with you..."
Bloodletter He grinned as he flicked his hand and the coin disappeared, "Then come, let us drink for i have coin and time!" He quickly turned and surveyed the rooftops looking for anysign of his predators. he then lstarted to go towards the tavern closest.
Caitlin: Noticed when the murmur in the room went down a bit at the sound of the door opening. she angled herself on her barstool to catch the new arrivals in her periffrial vision. It was the woman from before who had caused the commotion... and more interestingly, the man in the street she had found intriguing
Faye: Eyes looking around somewhat sheepishly, she let the man enter in front of her before stepping in after him. It was obvious that people were still wary of her, since the noise level went down a noticeable amount at their arrival. That, or the man was also notorious around here.
Bloodletter He walked up to the bar and ordered himself and his companion a Drink quickly making note of everyone in the room, Counting faces, looking for hoods, or Clockwork masks. he spotted none, But he did see the girl from before, he made a quick smile, and turned away, looking out the door, waiting, In his head he kept telling himself he was not being followed, but that whistle convinced him different, his revolver was un buckled, ready, he took a shot from his glass.
Caitlin: One good thing about bars, if you wanted to make a friend, there was easy to follow etiquette for that. Cait signaled the bartender, irritated that he rolled his eyes again before servicing her, but bit back her annoyance with him and bought a round of shots for the two new arrivals, along with an invitation to join her if they wanted the extra company.
Faye: She tapped the man on the shoulder. "You should relax a bit. You look like there's someone out to get you." The bartender brought over a round of shots that they never ordered, along with a quick message. Thanking him and looking over at the lady, she spoke again, "Oh, look, someone is inviting us to talk to them." She waved and beckoned the woman over.
Bloodletter Again quickly surveyed the room, Finding the girl who'd ordered his drinks, He turned his head to Faye "Well, Let's go Join her" He got to his feet and walked lazily towards her side of the table. I just need to calm down, get a few drinks in me, Relax</b> he took a seat one seat away from cait.
Caitlin: "Hi, I'm Caitlin," she introduced herself with a wry smile and offered her hand first to the woman who had shown impressive strength, then to the man whom she'd seen earlier and had to quench a new-found interest in knowing him.
Faye: She smiled widely and shook Caitlin's hand. "Faye Rose," she responded. "Thank you for the drink... We should have them together!" She motioned for the bartender to bring a shot for Caitlin as well.
Bloodletter He shook her hand as well and smiled "It's nice to meet you Caitlin, Do often buy strangers drinks?" He took another sip from his glass.
Caitlin: "only the ones that interest me," she answered honestly, then thanked Faye for the drink. Once all three of their shots were lined up on the bar, Cait offered a toast "To new acquaintances"
Faye: "Now hang on," she said before they would toast properly, looking pointedly at the man. "You haven't actually told us your name."
Bloodletter "You can call me Letter" He smiled as he took a drink. "all my friends do, well not all, But most seem to prefer to call me Letter"
Caitlin: "Ok, to Letter and Faye, may we get to know eachother better," she offered, lifting her shotglass and clinking it against theirs.
Faye: "Nice to meet you," she said happily, completely different from how she was fifteen minutes ago. She lightly tapped her shotglass against the others and downed the drink, setting the glass back down with a clunk and exhaling appreciatively.
Bloodletter He took a small sip, I oughta cut back, I still have to make it back home... Or at least to CC stars. he put his drink down, "So Cait, Who are You? What Brings you to Lodan, the Great COG, the Great City Of Gears"
Caitlin: Letter had unknowingly put Cait in a delima... who was she had two possible answers and which one to give was not an easy choice to make. Usually she introduced herself to strangers as the Baroness of Cockfoster till she knew them well enough to let them know her other side, her personal side. That was option B; to let them know from the start that she was a pirate sailor, and that she loved adventure and the sea. Since she already pointed out that they didn't look like her fathers kind of people, and since they were at the docks anyway, she went with the latter. "I'm a sailor, but this is my home port, so I guess you could say I'm from here." she smiled warmly, "how about yourselves?"
Faye: "Ah, a sailor... I've never been on a boat before. It seems scary..." she chuckled behind one hand. "A lot of things seem scary, now that I think about it. Oh..." she pondered the question about her own occupation for a bit. "Well... I work for the city. I'm a civil servant, you could say?" She made another pleasant smile.
Letter Both the girls looked at him, He smiled "I'm a traveller I spent a lot of time abroad, Spent some time in old Engine City, I settled down here a few months ago, I think That's when I first met you, faye." he took a sip. "Sorry if I don't seem very interesting, I don't normally-" He choked on his last words as he started out the window on the other side of the Tavern, A small apple sit on the outside with a little silver throwing knife stabbed through it. "I- Don't get out much" he trailed off...
Caitlin: It wasn't what he was saying that was interesting, it was everything he wasn't saying, and she could sense it. A moment passed when he seemed distracted, and she knew he was hiding something. Cait looked at Faye, she had been a little vague as well, but that was understandable, with the social standards of Lodans factions... it made perfect sense. She herself had offered little information. Still she found these two to be more than they appeared and wanted to keep them in her circle whenever possible.
Faye: Knowing Caitlin's eyes were on her briefly, she peered sideways at the anxious Letter and avoided the woman's gaze. "Hmm..... You're still acting very nervous. I think you need more drinks... more shots, sir!" she cheerfully called out to the bartender, who obliged and took away the empty glasses.
Letter "No I think I'm Done, I just realised I have... Uhh Work tomorrow" He pulled a silver pocketwatch out of his inner jacket pocket "Yes I need to leave" He reached into his other pocket pulling five Gold coins and laying them down on the bar. He made for the door.
Faye: "Ah... but they're already here... the drinks. You wouldn't just leave a lady like that, would you?" She looked almost genuinely sad at his sudden departure.
Bloodletter Turned and looked her in the eye, (B's Charm outranks yours) "I'm sorry, Have a round to yourself," he winked "You've earned it" he walked out the door.
Faye: "Oh, phoo." She let the man leave. No sense stopping him, it wasn't really her business anyway.
Bloodletter He Took a deep breath, keeping an eye on the Rooftops, He Stared at one roof in particular, it looked like there was someone- WHAM. He flew onto his back,
Deadpan He dropped the wooden plank on Lex's chest He began whistling his favorite tune, he circled the dazed assassin. "What's wrong, Lex?" He squatted down beside him "You haven't .. lost your touch have you?" He stood up and laugh a Hearty Laugh. He saw Lex go for his gun. He Kicked his arm and pulled the Revolver away. "Still lugging this Piece of scrap around? 6 shots? You need to get Yourself a Premium one like mine," He tossed Lex's revolver into the ocean and drew his own 3 barreled revolver, aiming at Lex's forehead.
Faye: Well, she didn't linger long anyway. She took those shots herself, then paid and left the bar soon after Letter did. As the door closed, she heard a resounding crash. She turned her head to see Letter on the ground with someone pointing a gun at him. Instantly sobering up, she dashed in their direction and took a leap at the man, aiming to tackle him to the ground.
Deadpan & Geezer Geezer appeared from nowhere reaching out and grabbing Fayes arm. Deadpan didn't take his barrel(s) off Lex. Bloodletter slowly pulled a small knife out from his sleeve and into his palm when he saw Geezer and Faye.
Faye: Yanked out of her leap, she twisted around in reflex (long hair sailing around like a whip) and swung a leg up to roundhouse kick the person that had grabbed hold of her.
Geezer taking a foot to the Chin Stumbled back and landed on his Butt.
Deadpan "ooh, Who's this beautiful Broad?" Deadpan Laughed "Lex, you been making friends Outside the Circle?" He took a step away from Lex and Faye.
Faye: She brought her hand behind her back, but grabbed at air - right, she was off-duty, so the pistol had been left behind in the barracks. Eyes flicking between the two warily, she silently waited to see what they would do next.
Geezer Geezer got back to his feet. Wiping the Blood of his Chin "lady, You best be walking the opposite direction of us!" He spoke in an accent foreign to Lodan "You 'ave no Idea WHO you're messing with"
Deadpan "Geezer! Quiet!" Deadpan shouted. "She's not the Directive. She's just target practice!" Deadpan raised his Revolver and aimed down the Barrel.
Bloodletter As soon as the barrel left his face He Jumped to action stabbing the man in the Side, and pulling him down. Geezer Twitched to make a move, But before he could do anything Blood had taken Dead's Gun, he Fired one loud blast, The bullets flew out from the gun, launching it out of Blood's hands. Deadpan Elbowed Bloodletter in the stomache and rolled out of his grip. He turned to Geezer who was on his knees.
Faye: She kicked the fallen gun away and it went skittering across the cobblestones and down a flight of stairs heading for the docks. Grabbing the first man by the arm and twisting it behind his back, she held him there while Letter took care of the other. "...Acquaintances of yours?"
Geezer Withhis arm behind his back, at a grip he never thought possible from a woman, keeled over, blood leaking from his Shoulder, where the Bullets had ripped.
Bloodletter rolled to his feet, Opened his mouth to speak but was delivered a blow to the stomache, Deadpan Now using his iron Glove, Punched Lex across the Face, and turned his attention over to Faye, "Let Him go, and i might let You live" He Pulled the knife from his hip and pointed it at her..
Faye: She raised her eyebrows and hauled the man to his feet, holding him in front of her like a shield. "Would you throw through your friend to get at me?" Silently, she hoped Letter was all right enough to recover quickly from that hit to the face and get the other man while she distracted him.
Deadpan "haha" He laughed as he flipped the Knife around and held it by the tip "I'll let gravity take this one" He tossed the Knife high into the air, in hopes it would travel Over Geezer, Bloodletter Got to his feet Quietly, He waved his Hand over his head at Faye Hoping she would get the Hint that the Knife would hit her if she didn't move. he then Kicked deadpan, right in the Center of his back. sending him just a few feet forward
Faye: It was fairly apparent what the man with the iron glove was trying to do. With a look of "Are you serious..." she took a few steps back, intending to maneuver her hostage into the path of the falling dagger.
Geezer With His free hand Caught the Dagger, like he and Deadpan Had practiced many times before, and brought it around his back slicing wildly
Faye: Ah, I forgot about his other hand... The blade sliced across her side and she let go of the man, staggering backwards. A quick check revealed a nice long gash that would need stitches... and not for the clothing. Gritting her teeth, she lunged forwards again, intent on using her military training to disarm the man.
Deadpan & Geezer As Geezer stepped forward he handed off his knife to Deadpan and swapped spots with him, Running and tackling Blood, who stood his ground. Deadpan stepped towards Faye Knife in hand "Hey, beautiful"
Faye: Her first strike missed, since he did a feint. No matter. Turn. Strike. Hold. Her body went through the motions, countless hours of drilling resulting in muscle memory. But these two were tough, and they had all the weapons. All she could do was ignore the injuries and keep going until they were down. Why they attacked Letter, she didn't know of course... but she wasn't about to let someone get murdered in front of her.
Deadpan "Hahaha!" he laughed almost as if they were sparring, He circled her , twirling his knife in one hand. "You know, for a girl, You're pretty tough!" He brought his hands up to block an incoming strike "let me guess. Police? Military? I always hated Military dogs" He Stepped into a high Kick trying to nail her head.
Bloodletter Headbutting Geezer off of him, they both seemed to back off for a second. "You..." geezer Managed "... Just... stop" Bloodletter could tell he was starting to give. He delivered a final kick to the chest , that brought him to his knees, He put his hand on the Mans Forehead "You've lost a lot of blood, This wasn't as fair a fight as it should have been, For that I am sorry, Brother." He grabbed the Man's lower jaw, and in one fast moved, snapped the man's neck. "Rest now" he whispered.
Faye: It wasn't worth her time to answer the man's questions. She blocked the kick with her arms, but took a few stumbling steps back away from him immediately after. The wound was getting to her now, a constant itching that gnawed at her side.
Deadpan "Hah!" He shouted as he saw her pain, his eyes darted across to Bloodletter who was standing over Geezer's body. His smile fell off his face, his throat choked "Atty?" he called
Bloodletter Stared at Deadpan, smiling a small smile as he rolled his shoulder.
Faye: She, too, looked in Letter's direction, then at the still form at his feet. "Well, your friend's dead," she said to the one still alive. "Do you still want to dance?"
Deadpan Ignoring her, He stumbled over to His blood brother's side "Atticus! Please get up" He fell to his knees Grabbing Atticus' limp body."Atty?!" Bloodletter Stepping away, walked down the path just passing Faye, looking for the three barreled Revolver.
Faye: Figuring the fighting was over, she allowed herself to back up against a nearby building and lean against it, holding her side and trying to stem the bleeding. She watched the man plea with his dead companion.
Deadpan After a moment of weeping Deadpan got to his feet and Turned to Bloodletter "Well, you've done it now, Alexander" he stepped slowly towards him "When We don't return to Engine City, They'll come for you. They Know where you are... Lodan! the City of Gears!" He smiled and started whistling a tune, as he turned around and got to his knees.
Bloodletter "Shush now, Lester" He put the gun to the back of his head "Rest now" He Fired off the round. The body hit the ground, "as for them....." He opened the Chamber of his new revolver, counting the shots, 12 bullets. "I'll be waiting"
Faye: She averted her eyes and closed them before the gun fired, and waited until after the body fell with a thud before looking at Letter. People were peering out of windows now at the commotion, and she was sure police were due to arrive soon. Somehow, she thought that it was better if the two of them got out of there before that happened. She pushed away from the wall and began slowly making her way back to the barracks. She paused. No, she'd stop by the infirmary first. It would be stupid to return directly to the quarters with an untreated injury. She turned her head to look at Letter. "Are you going to be on your way, then?"
Bloodletter "Come here a sec, Let me see that Wound" Letter held a small white ball of smoke in his hand, he approached Faye with his free hand outstretched.
Faye: She eyed the ball of smoke hesitantly. Magic was something she had only limited experience in, but it had been done to her enough that she had developed an aversion to it. "Is that a healing spell?" she asked warily.
Bloodletter "Is that a knife wound?" He asked rhetorically "Please, I don't want you bleeding all the way back to your base"
Faye: She thought on this for a brief moment, then gave in. "Alright... I suppose it can't sting more than this already does..." She leaned against a lamppost and slid down to a sitting position on the street. "Thank you."
Bloodletter "I'm sorry I got You involved, Faye" the skin pulled itself together and started Scarring "Just be glad You Aren't dead, Those men have been trained to kill people like your higher officers" The scars Faded and healed, "I'm not sure how Either of us are still alive" he stood up, looking her up and down,
Faye: It still itched maddeningly, but stopped when the healing was done. She let out a breath that she was holding in. "Well... I could see they were skilled... But I think they spent too much time gloating. I suppose nobody can stave off the drunkenness of power. Or perhaps it was luck? I like to believe I'm pretty lucky." She gingerly peeled back the blood-soaked fabric at where the injury was. The skin looked as if nothing happened there. She got to her feet, still slightly woozy from the loss of blood, and gave Letter a small smile. "Do you intend on telling me why people are trying to kill you?"
Bloodletter "You're still in a position where this doesn't have anything to do with you," Lex Pulled his hood back "If I can keep you out of this.. I just might save your life," He turned and started to walk away
Faye: Back to her sleey-eyed appearance again, she peered at the night sky with raised eyebrows in deep thought, then caught up with him. "I won't try to convince you otherwise, but I like to believe I can hold my own pretty well. If you need help, I'll be around, alright?"
Lex He grabbed her hand "Hey, You definitely CAN hold your own, Thanks for saving my arse back there" A troop of Military soldiers were coming up the Path, he dropped her hand and pulled his Hood up and over, He dashed to the nearest building grabbing the Drainage and climbing up from there.
Faye: She watched him leave - again - then shrugged and turned to meet the approaching soldiers and tell them the two bodies were murderers making attempts on innocent passersby. She had it under control, she told them. The only casualties were the two men. She didn't mention Letter's presence.
