<comical1> "Shopping!" cheered out loud with a big grin on her face as she walked down main street. it was later afternoon and the shop owners had opened their doors to let in the fresh air from outside. If there was one thing Caitlin loved as much as pirating, it was shopping (although pirating was incontestably cheaper) She passed another shop window filled with mens boots and dress shoes. Briefly she peered inside for a friendly face. Company was almost a requirement when shopping. It was nearly devestating to enjoy a day of perusing by oneself.
Then Caitlin heard a familiar voice coming up from behind her, shouting "outta my way you dingy scaliwag." "Ah," Caitlin murmured, "just the girl I was hopping to see today, Sarah Amelie"
<comical1> Caitlin turned with a smile ready to greet her shipmate Sara, eagerly anticipating a terrific evening of shopping/pillaging, or both
<coffee-sama> Sarah Was looking for a new pair of boots. In strange circunstances, one of her favourites boots fell to the sea, and was never found again. She sighed, and now was wearing some usual clothes. In a bad mood, she walked down the streets, mumbling curses and randomly shouting to people. When someone said her name, she turned out to see Caitlin. She arched both eyebrows "Oh... hey there... Caitlin, rite?"
<comical1> "correct! uh... nice... boots?" Caitlin noticed the mixed-matched boots Sarah was currently wearing. She didn't mean to stare "Care for some company, I'm a great shopping companion, and I totally know where to find the wicked boots"
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Ah, don't look at those!" Facepalmed "I've lost one of my favourites boots, and now I can't find a decent pair! Not to mention I suck at shopping" D; She looked at the girl and blinked twice "Um, you surely look like the type who like shopping" Said, with no meaning of offense "I would LOVE you if you help me to look for"
<comical1> "Dove, shopping is a part of my pedigree," she laughed, "and I know where to find all the best deals, this will be a steal" she winked
<coffee-sama> Sarah Tilted her head a bit, thinking that pedigree was a therm only used to call dogs, but as Caitlin laughed, she chuckled too. "Oh~ Stealin's something I surely know to do " Said to herself. "Then what're we waiting for! Let's go!" Sarah pulled Cait's arm gently to start walking, while mumbling something about the shoes she wanted. When they reached the place, she looked around to the shoes. "Wow, so many! "
<comical1> Caitlin lead them down mainstreet far past the mens shoe store where they met and she turned a corner. On one of the lesser alleys was a small shoe shop owned by a young boy, about fifteen, and his older sister. Their parents, Caitlin knew, had expired a few years ago, and the kids fingers bore the evidence of countless sleepless nights stitching the souls of shoes together in a tiresome effort to keep their parents shop above board. Caitlin led Sarah inside
<comical1> "there are a lot," Caitlin agreed
<comical1> "but of course, its off the beaten path, and not too many shoppers know to come down here
<coffee-sama> Sarah "And I understand why! Who thinks about putting a shoes shop on an alley?" She arched an eyebrow, while seeing some nice pair of boots with heels. "Dunno how you know about this place either..."
<comical1> the 15 year old boy was sitting on a stool behind the counter, a thimble on one finger, a threaded needle in the other hand and a half completed shoe in his lap. His sister was eyeballing the pair of pirates a bit fearfully as the browsed through her selection. Would her hard work earn her a sale?
<comical1> "I found it one evening while I was getting better... acquainted with a handsome young lord," she lowered her voice and dared to blush "and it just so happens that we had ducked into this alley and I unintentionally found this store more fascinating than his attempts at seduction" now she laughed louder at the memory. Poor boy
<coffee-sama> Sarah Looked back to Cait "A young lord? Ducking?" Smirked very curious "I wonder who he was and what were you doing woman..." Then got her attention back to the shoes, and took one from the shelf "Hey yo, Girl!" Pointed to the girl that, in her opinion, was in charge of the place, and made a sign with the hand to get closer. "Don't you have a pair like these, but without heels?"
<comical1> the store clerk light up and nodded, she did have such a pair, but she didn't let her excitement climb too high just yet, "what size miss?" she asked.
<coffee-sama> Sarah Rubbed the back of her head with a hand while thinking "...I'm not sure...Just look at my feet!" Raised her leg a bit and pointed to her foot. "I guess I'll need a biig pair, don't ya think?"
<comical1> the girl nodded slowly, then reached out for Sarah's booted foot "I'll need to borrow this only a moment to learn your size" she explained.
<comical1> ""A handsome young lord, indeed," Caitlin continued after the girl retreated to the back of the shop with Sarah's boot "but...."
<comical1> "but he was a childish kisser... sloppy, and slobbery like a dog. It was a rather sad disappointment, and so as you can see, a love for shopping certainly took precedence "
<comical1> "His father is friends with my father anyway, so I think I ran off with him out of mere defiance anyway... " she waved her hand in a nonchalant way to indicated it was no big deal.
<coffee-sama> Sarah "NO!" She shouted to the girl and let her foot touch the floor again, then flushed a little, ashamed "C-cant you like... measure the foot or... something, instead of taking the boot away?" After her show, looked back to Cait "Oh... so it was a.... 'better than nothing' choice? o_ó I wonder... And is not someone I could know by any chance?"
<comical1> Caitlin grinned mischeviously "perhaps," she hinted. "The girl cannot measure your foot unless you go behind the desk with her... their measurements are chalked on the floor" Caitlin explained. "oh, and Sarah. You can call me Caity, if you'd like, but not around the boys.... it would be a shame if they got used to it
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Oh, I see..." Bit her lip, nervous for some reason, still not giving up to gave her the shoe. "I'd... rather follow you behind the desk if you don't mind, girl." Sarah smirked back to Cait. "Wow.. to be honest, By your look I thought you were more... innocent, woman." Chuckled "So! Caity. You can call me Sarah, I don't think there's any other way to call me anyways..."
<comical1> "Not unless I invented a nickname for you, say: Star for instance, but Sarah is just as good " Caitlin leaned on the counter as Sarah walked behind it with the young clerk "and do you remember last spring, in the Times news paper, the article on "Londons Most Eligible Bachelor of the Season?..."
<comical1> "There was all this hype about Lord Effinghams oldest son turning twenty-six and coming into his full annual allotment... well obviously it wasn't him hiding in the alleys (no, no he's more the hide in the gambling hall type) but I was tucked away with his younger brother" there, she'd revealed her secret
<comical1> it felt good to gossip... ever since starting aboard her beloved ship under Archer's command, she'd been constantly ducking inquiries into her personal affairs... better they kept the illusion she was chaste as a saint... it wasn't like she'd given up all her goods... just a few of the surface perks... if she thought someone was worth the time
<coffee-sama> Sarah Followed the girl behind the counter so she could measure the food (and evade her 'fear' to be barefoot apparently) "...Star? Seriously??...Sarah is just fine" After the girl was done, she returned to the main shop, hoping that the girl could find a right pair of these boots for her. "I don't remember that article... but I'm pretty sure that he was a pretty handsome one to have that title..." Chuckled "What was he doing hiding in an Alley.... what were YOU doing in THAT alley, huh?"
<comical1> "Oh you know..." she fluttered her eyelashes a little "tasting the forbidden fruits"
<coffee-sama> Sarah Chuckled again while hearing that last comment, and took a seat near to her. "You surely know how to enjoy the life, honey. You DO take risk!"
<comical1> "I'm a little devious, its in my nature, and I freely admitt that it feels so good to be bad as long as one doesn't go too far.... otherwise... it just gets complicated"
<comical1> "What about you Sarah, what have you done that was "walking the line?"
<remixedmagic> [Over an hour ago, Flos Lychnis had arrived in Lodan carrying only a shaggy rucksack over his shoulder and his secured violin in one hand. But he was already lost in both navigation and the wonders of the city itself. He finally stepped into the district that seemed to be the home of the merchants.] "Wow . . . ," [he breathed as he leisurely walked, observing his surroundings in awe.]
<comical1> while the girl was in the back searching for the right size boots, and the boy had his head bowed over his latest creation, Caitlin leaned in closer to Sarah across the counter to whisper "So Sarah, is this going to be a purchase... or a pillage? Cause hoisting boots... though not impossible, is difficult.
<comical1> "We'd have to make a mad dash for it, back to main street where we can get lost in the crowd"
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Mmm... What I've done?" Rubbed her chin as pondering seriously, then laughed loudly "What I HAVEN'T done would be easier to list, Caty" Sarah closed her eyes, she surely not wanted Caty to know all the tricks she had done in her life, but she could choose one or two. Then made a gesture with the hand to get closer, and whispered "Only days ago, I stole a bottle of fine wine to... someone... you could or could not know. Also, I caused a brawl in the tabern" Chuckled again. "Of course it's gonna be a pillage, what were you thinking!?" She frowned. "Do you think I have any money? The plan is simple, when she arrives with the boots, you ask for some strange pair, and then, we escape, what do ya think?"
<comical1> "Clever pirate" Caitlin approved, smiling wide. "its a plan"
<coffee-sama> Sarah "We just have to wait for the right moment... Be discreet, and if we're catched, deny everything"
<remixedmagic> [Flos let out a little chortle, exuberance now quickly rising. His first time in a real city; it was too exciting! He suddenly bursted in laughter.] "Ha ha ha ha! This is AMAZING!" [he shouted loudly and quickly climbed onto the nearest lamppost, swinging his hat off to further express his enjoyment.] "THIS PLACE IS AMAZINNNNG!! WHOOOO!!!"
<comical1> The clerk returned with her fetching, the perfect pair of boots to match Sarahs request. She sat them on the counter, ready to cash out when Caitlin piped up "Y'know, miss, can I call you miss? I was just thinking; I would LOVE to have a new pair of boots too, but my word, I could never wear something that someone else has... Everything I have must be perfectly unique! Do you have such a thing for me? I wear a size six, thank you doll!" Caitlin loved playing the diva, and it paid off as the young woman ducked back behind her curtain to the back room and without blinking Sarah swiped the boots off the counter and the two turned toward the door. THey would have made it outside without a sound... if not for the cursed bell on the doorjab.... drat, Caity thought... the 15 year old boy looked up in interested then jumped to his feet in alarm "THIEF" he screamed, and lept over the counter to chase after them... Neither woman paused for a milisecond before dashing into the street and hitting the ground running back to main street.
<coffee-sama> Sarah "dung! We were catched!" With no hesitation, she grabbed Caty's arm and ran away, trying to be mixed with the crown the better they could, peeking behind from time to time to be sure where the boy was. In one of these times, she crashed againt's a redhead man who looked excited around. They both feel to the floor. Sarah over him (and maybe even Caty) "...dung
<remixedmagic> "AHHHH!" [Flos yelped as he was suddenly pushed down behind and toppled onto the ground.] "Ow . . ." [He rubbed his face as he looked behind him.] "Oh--oh oh oh! I am so sorry!!" [He crawled out from under the blonde woman and jumped up, holding out a hand to her.] "I-I really am sorry, I-I shoulda watched where I was goin'!
<comical1> had to windmill to avoid joining the two collisionist on the ground, and managed to stay afoot, but she turned her back on the toppled pair while they regained their footing and searched the crowd back the direction they came to make sure that shoe-maker wasn't still chasing them... she was sure that he would be, but she didn't spy him in the crowd
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Nonono, my bad, I should've put more attention..." She stood up without needing his help (she didn't realice he was offering his hand) and dusted herself a bit. "Are you alright, Cat?" She asked looking at the woman "Isn't the boy... yanno, following our steps?"
<remixedmagic> Flos: "Oh, um, alrighty. Y-you're okay, right?" [He starts picking up the luggage he dropped.]
<comical1> "No... not at the moment, perhaps he gave up" she turned and noticed the musician picking up his instrument for the first time and she got an idea, "of course, it would be so much less stressful if we had been accompanied by a gentleman... then we wouldn't be chased by unwanted "flirtations" " she fibbed, hoping that the man would make their group of two look more like a group of three, and more easily hide in the open road
<comical1> "and of course," she added, to ward off questions later "it would give you the chance to wear your lovely new boots without someone making it difficult to evade their unwanted advances"
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Excellent" Sighed and turned to face the man again "...That's a great idea, Cat!" As speaking she patted the man's shoulder "I bet he wouldn't mind to be accompained by two lovely ladies like us, would you..." She made a space, waiting for the man to introduce himself.
<remixedmagic> [Flos hadn't been listening to da ladies, he was busy trying to look for his cap. When he was patted, he looked back up and quickly straightened himself.] "Um, y-yes? D'you need something from me?"
<comical1> "Hi," Caitlin smiled her most charming smile and made the introductions, keeping in mind to listen for any rustling behind her that might mean the shoemakers had found them. "I'm Caitlin, Baroness of Cockfoster, and this is my dear friend Sarah. We would be delighted if you would escort us this evening" She didn't spare a glance at Sarah though she wondered what the girl thought when she revealed her title... for added measure she also sweetened her request by adding "and we both do love music, it would be a pleasure to hear you play"
<coffee-sama> Sarah "Yeah, you surely looks like an interesting one" She then put a hand over her hips "And wow! You're a musician! I used to play music when I was younger..." She gave a bright smile while remembering, such good times "Which instrument do you play?"
<remixedmagic> [Flos was instantly flabbergasted.] "Wh-wait-what-no--me?! But--I mean, I-I'm sorry, I just got here. I mean, I'm new here, that is to say . . . " [He turned red as he stammered and nervously scratched the back of his head. His first introduction with a city person and he was already messing up. Perfect. He blushed even more when they noticed he was a musician and looked away from the ladies.] "I, uh . . . I play the fiddle . . . "
<comical1> "Oh the fiddle!!" Caitlin remarked as if it was her most favorite thing in the whole world "well you simply must, just must play for us.. here, and now, quickly!" the sooner he drew a crowd with his music, the more concealed they would both be.
<remixedmagic> [Flos found his hat (Oh, thank goodness!) and quickly snatched it up so he could wring it in his hands. He was still looking away, though this time eyeing his violin.] "R-right now? Um, uh, okay . . ." [he anxiously laughed as he stooped down to open his violin case.] "Um, what song would you like?"
<comical1> cheered in triumph "Perfect!" and she linked her hands behind her back and rocked on her toes waiting for the music to begin
<comical1> "Um... what do you play the most?"
<remixedmagic> Flos: "Whatever my pa once taught me. Erm, whatever the genres was." [He scratched his head with his bow as he tried to remember the names.] "Oh wait, I got one!" [He patted down his cap on the floor upside down (for those who would like to grant him a few coins) and straightened himself at the lamppost.
<comical1> For a moment Caitlin forgot about her mechanisms behind staging the debut, "Canon," she whispered in awe, "its beautiful"
<coffee-sama> Sarah When the man started to play, she found herself lost with the strings. Moving her head from a side to the other. Now she could understand why Avery used to do that so often. "It is..." She answered
<remixedmagic> [Flos felt the rhythm of the music and allowed himself to move to the beat. He smiled, enjoying the sounds he was creating from the strings.]
<serenade-clue> Clue: Immediately a crowd began to ease in around the trio, and as more people came closer, a few started to gasp in awe and point towards Flos. As he played, the crowd got larger and larger, and soon enough over twenty people were mesmerized by his playing. Clue was on her way back to her shop, but at the sound of music and the sight of a large mass of people, she paused, allowing herself to take a small detour and see what the commotion was all about.
<comical1> a few coins were tossed into the hat between should to shoulder onlookers, and within moments the trio was engulfed... and literally not a moment too soon as the shoemaker brother and sister barreled past screaming "thief, thief" to the nearest military authority they could find.
<serenade-clue> Clue: When the song finished, Clue grinned and pushed through all the people, making her way up to the hat. Without second thought, she tossed in a large handful of coins into it before looking back up at Flos. "Very good," she smiled.
<remixedmagic> [Flos had bent down to collect his food money when someone else had tossed in extra.] "O-oh. Th-thank you." [Where are all these women coming from?]
Then Caitlin heard a familiar voice coming up from behind her, shouting "outta my way you dingy scaliwag." "Ah," Caitlin murmured, "just the girl I was hopping to see today, Sarah Amelie"
