Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

The red head remained quiet as the EIRAL inspected the group of them. He didn’t like the guards, but was relieved when this one decided he had no reason to stay. Once the uniformed man left, he sighed in relief, glancing over at Vie and Clancy.
“That didn’t go badly,” he said more to the masked lady than the man with an unnatural hair color.
Vieka felt her brow furrow in irritation as the male walked away, emitting a sharp click of her tongue to vocalize her distaste.
"So he comes over to be a pain, insults my mask with his false assumptions, then buggers off again, effectively accomplishing nothing other then being a total waste of my time and patience." She scowled, her fingers slipping into the brown paper bag flipping the cap to the beer can in there, loosening her clasps enough for her to push her mask up and away from her mouth. "Cheers arsehole." She grunted, making the appropriate motion of such in the direction the military worker disappeared in before taking a large swig.... and promptly choking on it.
"Sweet mother of baby christ- you actually drink this crappy swill? ugh...." Vieka promptly spluttered, coughing lightly and holding the bottle away from her like it filled with the most foul smelling stench she'd ever smelt. Ew- ugh, god, the taste is stuck to her tongue- ew ew ew!

Clancy sheepishly look at the receding guards figure. "Well, 'e was just doin' 'is jo-" before he could finish, Vieka started sputtering. Turning back to her, he grimiced a little, "Ahaa~, I woulda told ya that was tha cheapest beer on tha market had ah known ya woulda takin' a swig of it. Ya don' like it? I think it tastes fine." He held his hand out, wanting the drink back but knowing it might be in vain. "Anywho, ah like tha EIRALs, though they scare me some. I woulda join 'em but I doubt someone like me woulda been welcome in their ranks," he sighed. Plus, with Iaco's current hobbies at the moment, being an EIRAL would only complicate things worse so it was all for the best. "What about y'all? Did ya inspire ta be somethin' else?"

At first Lasair watched with a raised eyebrow as Vieka went to drink from the bag confiscated from Clancy, but when she began gagging on it he couldn’t help but chuckle a little. He took a step towards her, reaching out with a free arm to pat her back as she gagged. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind the contact; he was just trying to help her breath.
As for Clancy’s question, Lasair didn’t really have an answer. “I just wanna live life to the fullest for as long as I can,” he said as Vie began to recover.
Her coughing died down but the disgusting taste of cheap crud was still glued to her tongue like melted tar, the foul feeling enough of a distraction that she didn't even mind how close Lassair was. In retaliation to Clancy even submitting her to such torment (because it was totally his fault), she drew the bottle away from him and promptly turned it upside down, emptying it's contents onto the ground where it soaked into the gravel.
"I'm taking you out for decent stuff at some point" She grunted unhappily, trying to give herself time to figure out an answer to his question. Admittedly she had wanted to join the military force when she was much younger, but that idea was knocked on the head as soon as her magic spike had hit her eight. She had been stubborn for a while, determined to fix the mechanical objects she had broken with an iron stubbornness, obviously to no avail.
She opened her mouth to speak out some half arsed lie, only to be practically bowled over before she even had a chance.
SQUAWK!!
Vie staggered forward, barely keeping her balance as feathers and frantic wings filled her vision and the feeling of claws dug uncomfortably into her back, her mask long since been knocked off her face and onto the floor by the havoc going on at her back. She, however, was not the one receiving the full brunt of the attack.
Attached to Vieka's back was none other that a large Vulture of the Lammergeier kind, It's impressive eight ft wingspan open and flapping angrily at none other then the red head that had been helping Vie get over her choking fit not even a minute ago. It squawked angrily at him, pecking and making a ruckess, seemingly trying to create distance between him and the woman the bird was currently perched on.
"The frak- Lurch?!" The brunette yelped, wanting to spin around and see what the hell was taking a joy ride on her back but barely being able to keep her balance with the sheer amount of movement going on back there. Either way, she knew those feathers and squawks anywhere.

The look on Clancy's face as Vieka dumped the drink could only be described as a puppy having his favorite toy stolen from him. "Ah didn't even get ta try it," he whimpered pathetically. When Vieka's promise to buy him a good drink he instantly brightened back to his old self. Than a huge bird came flying out of nowhere. Clancy sat dumbstruck as he watched the vulture go bananas on Vieka. "Are ya alright?! Do ya... Know this bird or sumtin," he asked hesitantly, pointing a finger at the raging creature.

When the bird appeared, Lasair jumped back, utterly surprised. The thing looked like it was attempting to break Vieka’s back while also attack the red head, who backed away calmly, ignoring all the pecking directed at him. “Easy there,” he said gently, hoping it might calm the bird.
It was obvious that the creature was angry with Lasair, so he continued to step back, hoping up his hands to show he wasn’t doing anything, and hoped that the bird would maybe relax if he got far away enough. Or at least leave Vie along and chase after him instead. She looked like she was about to snap in half with that thing on her.
Lassairs tactics worked; the bearded vulture started beating it's wings down to chase after him, but Vieka was quicker. As soon as the bird was off her back and making its way to the red head, the brunette doctor took the initiative to grab the leather tassels and stop the avian's progress, resulting in the bird flapping but going nowhere, although it still wasn't a sight you want to be close to as it screeched angrily.
As quickly and awkwardly as she could, the half breed removed herself from one sleeve of her coat and wrapped the entire thing around her left arm, the same one that whose hand had been holding the birds tassels. With that, she yanked the tassels back and placed her now free right hand under the birds breast, supporting it before pushing it up so the vulture got the lift it needed to right itself on her protected arm. Even upright however, it still cawed and squarked angrily, it's wings slightly spread and hunched giving it a threatening look as it gave Lassair the stink eye.
"The hell are you doing here you stupid bird- you're meant to be with the old man!" She growled, not impressed by the display she'd just witnessed.

Clancy cleared his throat as he edged away from his friend with the raging bird, "Ah repeat, ya know this...lurch??" Poor Lasair, the creature was furious with him. What had he done to invoke it's fury? Maybe it was because he patted Vieka's back??

“Should I leave?” Lasair asked over the bird’s angry squawking. He was still backing away from the creature, Lurch was apparently its name, but he wasn’t sure if he should leave the area entirely since the bird seemed to belong to Vieka. The red head wasn’t scared of the winged thing, no, but he was nervous about it. Getting a face full of pecking and clawing wasn’t what he’d normally enjoy during the evening.
"I know 'im, he's my own drat bird after all." Vie grumbled, letting her gloved fingers trail his back feathers before reaching up and scratching him around the head. Immediately, Lurch stopped making such a racket, practically turning into a ball of feathered goop as he cawed happily and ducked his face into his chest feathers. If a bird could blush, he definitely would be.
The half breed holding the Vulture snorted, shaking her head in minor disbelief as she continued petting the creature, trying to adjust her arm and get used to his 7 kilo weight. "Don't worry too much Lupen, I'm pretty sure the ball of feathers is all squawk." she muttered with amusement.
