Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"But you guys are in the boo-" She was trying to say. They were part of the statistics for recruits indoctrinated under Danny's leadership. The end of her sentence faded out as he flipped the page and found his name again, only this time not as a stat in the margin. He was in the body of the page. There was even a photo of him, like there had been of Ella, of Jak and Danny. Here was Lasair Landevier Lupen, 2nd in command under Danny Ravensdale.

“M-me?” he stuttered, overly confused. That right there, did not make sense. He stood up and took a step back. He had no idea how the picture of him was there on the page. He didn’t remember having his picture taken by anyone in the guild, cameras were uncommon enough as it is. “I, I don’t understand. I’ve hardly spoken to Danny and for the longest time, I had no idea about the history in the guild. Why would I be second in command? You’re much more suited for the job. You actually know about the guild and everything. I’m, I’m just a pretty boy who likes to have a good time!” Lasair rubbed the sides of his head, trying to take it all in. He had never been in charge of anything, other than himself. How could he handle a whole guild? And if Danny disappeared, geeze, he didn’t even want to think about it. He could already feel a headache coming on just trying not to think about it.
"H-hey, it's ok, it's going to be ok-" she pushed back her chair and walked calmly toward him. He was rubbing his temples and babbling about how he didn't think he was the right guy for the job. She felt a tinge of jealousy, but only for a moment, then his anxiety caught up with her and she realized how much responsibility really came with it. She wasn't ready for such a job herself. How did Danny do it? "Don't say that, you're more than just a pretty boy," Though now that he mentioned it, he was kind of pretty. She shook the thought.
"Listen, I'm sure there is a reason behind all of this. Just relax, try to breathe, and remember Danny has the guild under control. There is no reason to panic."

“You’re right, you’re right.” Lasair took a deep breath and turned his face to the ceiling, forcing himself to calm down. The last time he had been in charge of something, it hadn’t ended well. But he couldn’t assume that was going to happen again here. “I just, I don’t know why it’s me,” he said anew, feeling defeated from a battle he hadn’t even been in.
"Well someone must know." Clairee thought outloud. She reached out and put her hand on Lasair's shoulder, offering comfort as best she could. "Regardless, If you ever need a hand with this kind of stuff let me know. Danny and I aren't exactly best friends, but I've been around just as long. I might be able to offer some kind of assistance. You never know really..." She wasn't as confident as she sounded but she was doing her best for his sake.

Exhaling again, Lasair turned to look at Clair, appreciating her offer. “Thank you. It’s a lot to take in right now. I feel like I need a drink. Would you care to join me?” A smile slowly returned to his face as he hoped she’d accept his offer. As far as he knew, there was no alcohol to be found in this place. Although quite honestly he wouldn’t be surprised if there was.
She gave a small exhale of breath and a smile of relief. "Yeah, yea that sounds great. Should we try the kitchens, or did you want to head back to town?" She was starting to realize getting a drink was a pretty casual pastime for him. Maybe he took comfort in the act or something. She let go of his shoulder and laced her fingers together in front of herself in a girlish kind of pose. For all her attempts to sound self assured, she looked about as small and timid as a little bird. Definitely not a side of her she showed to many people.

“This place has a kitchen?” Lasair shook his head, another thing he didn’t know about something he should. He glanced at Clair as she stood nearby, seeing her stand in a rather adorable pose. For someone so tough, she too had a soft side. He could only smile more. “Sure, let’s go to the kitchen. You’ll have to lead the way though. I hardly know how to get in and out of this place.”
And thus they were off!!! //shot Clairee returned his grin, it was infectious. "Oh, just one more thing," She said - leaning over the desk and closing the book. "I should put this back where I got it before we go." She could have climbed the ladder among the wall shelves to get it up where it belonged, but that was such a silly tool when it came to someone who could go 'up' as easily as everyone else goes 'forward'. She shimmied her shoulders to loosen her off-the shoulder neckline and her wings materialized from her bared shoulder blades. The pewter grey and blue feathers took form and with them she lifted up in half as much time as she would have climbed. The book was neatly placed back on the shelf and she landed with a little bend to her knees. Her wings swooped down heavy and long around her. Clair's black hair fell in front of her face and when she looked back up at him the strands parted enough to reveal blue eyes.

Wings? Unable to do anything except stare with wide eyes, it took Lasair a moment to recover from the amazing sight. “I didn’t know you were a birdie,” he said, a goofy grin on his face. “The wings really suite you, you shouldn’t hide them all the time.”
She blushed as she retracted them, and like wisps of smoke, they faded down to the skin. She tugged her shirt forward so the back wouldn't be as exposed. "Oh, uh yeah.. thank you," Usually being called a bird felt like an insult, but with the look Lasair was giving her, it didn't feel like one. At least this time. "It's just habit at this point..." She shrugged, she'd been hiding her wings since she was a tot. Had to learn early since she was the only half breed in a human household. Only the family knew, and it had always been important to keep it that way. "It feels misplaced, holding them in all the time, like an errand you know you should be doing but can't remember what it was. It's always there in the back of your mind like that." She shrugged again, then moved to the door. "Let's get something to drink, aye?"

Lasair followed her to the door, but still had the vision of her wings in his mind. “Why not leave them out? At least while we’re here in the HQ. No one here is going to worry about it. I’m just a general Ander so I don’t have any of those cool things like wings or claws.” He couldn’t begin to imagine what it was like for the winged ones. Having something like that and being forced to hide it, it couldn’t have been enjoyable. Granted he was glad he didn’t have to worry about that, but he did have to worry about petty things like paper cuts. If only being an Ander wasn’t a big deal.
"Benji's a black-blood," She said offhand before she had time to think about it. She froze in mid-step. "Sorry, I just, I remembered from our trial that he had blood all over his face, and it was black. That's how I learned what kind of Ander he was." her voice got quieter as she ate her shame. "I didn't mean it how it sounded." The names they call each other, even among themselves. Birdies, black-bloods, strays, they could all be derogatory coming out of some peoples mouths. She hoped not out of hers. "here..." she tugged on the back of her shirt to make room, then closed her eyes as her wings reappeared. "I'm Clairee, and I'm a winged Andersweltler. well, a halfbreed. Pa's a human farmer, and my brothers are all human. I'm the only one like me, the only one with an Ander mom."

He listened as Clairee stumbled over her words. He wasn’t offended in the slightest. Smiling as she allowed her wings to be free again, he reached out and took her hand, kissing it lightly before releasing it a moment later. “I’m Lasair Landevier Lupen, at your service.” He took a bow as per usual with his introduction. “I’m a general Anderswelter. My mom’s a feline but my dad’s a general like me. I’m not easily offended by names, only by the people using them. Don’t go worrying about my feelings, yours are the ones which matter.”
Now that was a pretty-boy move, she thought, but it still felt nice to be flirted with. Only person who ever thought her worth flirting with was one of her brothers soldier friends, and after one dinner-date-gone-wrong, he never showed his face again. "I wouldn't worry about my feelings too much," she replied, not sure what else to say. She smiled though, so much that it hurt to smile.
"The kitchen is this way," she pipped up suddenly, remembering that they were still standing in front of the library. She led them down the hall, up a staircase and back to the far side of the HQ where you could smell the fresh produce before actually reaching the door.
